WagJag Canada: $30 for 6 Hampton Bay Solar LED Lights (a $79 Value)

Posted by on July 21, 2014 at 11:00 PM

WagJag Canada: $30 for 6 Hampton Bay Solar LED Lights (a $79 Value)

A back and front yard must at our house are solar lights.  I love the look of them lit up at light and they are basically no maintenance after you buy them because the charge all day in the sun.  They can get quite pricey though so you need to look for a good deal.  I found a spectacular deal at WagJag Canada  for a pack of solar LED lights.  Get a pack of six for just $30 when the regular cost is $79.

If you are unfamiliar with the brand name Hampton Bay, they are one of the best brands for indoor or outdoor lighting.  Because they are so good, they can be a bit expensive.  This brand  can be found in Home Depot (which is where we actually got our Hampton Bay LED solar lights) and a few other stores.

With this deal, you will get the six pack of LED solar lights in black and they have the stakes included to attach to the ground.  Each LED stake light measures 5.13 x 19 in and they light up at dusk so can last for up to 8 hours.  They are a great addition to any garden or walkway.

The cost of shipping is $12 extra but that is a fraction of the cost you will be saving at 62% off the regular price. The delivery will take approximately 4-6 weeks.

I wanted to show you a little price comparison for this deal.  I found the Hampton Bay solar lights at Home Depot Canada in a 10 pack that are almost identical.  They are priced at $79.98. Even though you get a few more, you would still be getting a far better deal with the Wagjag pack of six.  You would also get charged shipping at Home Depot.

I also found a similar set at Canadian Tire that are a no name brand and come in a pack of four.  They are $59.99 and again, you would be paying extra for shipping.  Those ones are double the cost of the Wagjag ones and they are not even a great brand or have as many in the box!

I finally found similar ones again at Walmart Canada that only had four in a pack and they were priced at $69.98. Even though Walmart offers free shipping on theirs, the WagJag deal still surpasses this one as well.

In-Store @ Safeway: Use Printable Coupon To Get $50 Canadian Tire Gift Cards For $45!

Posted by on June 28, 2014 at 4:00 PM

In Store @ Safeway: Use Printable Coupon To Get $50 Canadian Tire Gift Cards For $45!

For those of you who live out West or near a Safeway store, there’s a great printable coupon this week that can potentially save you a lot of money at Canadian Tire. Basically, the printable coupon enables you to buy a $50 Canadian Tire Gift card for only $45, in-store @ Safeway.

The coupon is towards the bottom of the page… you can print it out on its own, or you can choose to print out all the rest of the coupons on the page too. There are a few others for various discounts on groceries… but the Canadian Tire deal is the hottest on the page.

Some thoughts on multiple redemptions

The printable coupon states “one coupon per transaction.” I am taking it to mean that if you want to, you can purchase multiple $50 Canadian Tire vouchers, you’d just have to put them through in individual transactions. If you want to do this all in one visit, it might be worth asking the cashier. Otherwise, just go back on a few visits to redeem a few coupons. It also states that the coupon is valid at participating Safeway stores only, so you may need to ask the cashier before you buy.

Canadian Tire Gasbar

So… say you stock up on some of the above Canadian Tire gift cards – did you know that you can use them at the gas bar for buying gas? This actually means you can score a really great price on your gas, so I’d consider buying many gift cards and then using them in the future for your gas purchases. You’d also get Canadian Tire money back on your purchases too.

Safeway is not in all provinces so this deal won’t be good for everyone. E.g. I don’t believe they are in Ontario.

Mastercraft 14” Aggressive HandSaw only $3 In-Store @ Canadian Tire!

Posted by on June 14, 2014 at 10:00 AM

Mastercraft 14” Aggressive HandSaw only $3 In Store @ Canadian Tire!

Tools! Pointy tools! Pointy spiky tools! Pointy spiky aggressive tools!

There’s a deal on in-store at Canadian Tire just now, for this Mastercraft 14” Aggressive HandSaw. It’s been reduced by 75% from $12.19, down to only $3! That’s very inexpensive indeed, especially for a big brand name.

In the past, I’ve noticed this particular saw for $3.99, but never as low as the $3 mark.

On the Canadian Tire site above, you can use their online stock checker to see if there are any of these Mastercraft saws available at a location near to your home. Now, it’s probably not worth driving to your local Canadian Tire just to get a three dollar saw, but it might be an excuse to make the trip if you had a plan to do so anyway.

I had a quick scan of the reviews on the Canadian Tire website and they seem positive, as you might imagine. With an overall rating of 4.6 out of 5, with such comments as:

Does an excellent job -ripping though the cut with fast work. Great tool!

Here are a few points about this saw:

  • Ergonomic  2 component soft-grip & non-slip handle
  • Ideal for a fast cut
  • Blade coated with water-based lacquer providing rust protection

Apparently this Mastercraft saw has “Aggressive toothing,” I have no idea what this means.  I did have to google, and all I could find were articles about aggressive puppies… not quite what I was searching for. If you know what that means, tell me in the comment below!

My other half has a growing collection of saws in the man-cave/garage… so I’m definitely not going to tell him about the deal on this one. I am not sure why he needs quite so many saws in his collection. I understand that there are different saws for different jobs, but surely you can try and make do with the tools that you have, without resorting to buying a new saw for each and every new job to be undertaken. Unless the saws are magically reproducing of their own accord…

P.S. The image I have used above is not the exact image of this particular Mastercraft saw, but a stock image from elsewhere. The one on the left illustrates a “man sawing a branch with zeal.” That caption made me chuckle!

Canadian Tire: KitchenAid Deals Up To 75% Off (In Store)

Canadian Tire: KitchenAid Deals Up To 75% Off (In Store)

Canadian Tire has some Kitchen Aid deals to rock your little socks off. However, all these deals are in store only, so you will need to jump on your peddle bike and high-tail it to your local store to shop.

I want to send my husband to go get this KitchenAid Cast-Iron Skillet, 10 inch, because I love cooking with cast iron and our frying pans are in desperate need of replacement. The skillet is also on sale from $59.99 down to only $19.99. Click through each link provided to see the availability at your local store. Our local store has zero in stock, so I might be out of luck on this one.

Thankfully, the larger size KitchenAid 12-in Cast Iron Frying Pan is on sale as well and in stock at my local store. Originally $89.99, it is now on sale for $29.99. While I prefer smaller frying pans for eggs and such basics, I think I could get along with a 12″ just fine for that price. I just love that you can use cast iron in the oven, on the stovetop, on a grill and even on the campfire.

If you are looking for a new set of pots and pans, I highly recommend checking out the deal on this KitchenAid 10-piece Red Cookset. It is 70% off the original price of $439.99. Now only $129.99, it is an absolute steal for three pots, a Dutch oven, a sauté pan, and matching lids.

No kitchen is complete without utensils. If you buy utensils individually, then they can cost you a lot of money. Thus, this 17 piece KitchenAid Tool and Gadget Set is a fantastic buy as the tools are already bundled and they are on sale. Originally $59.99, the bundle is now on for just $29.99.

The absolute crème-de-la-crème of the entire sale is this stunning 14-piece KitchenAid White Triple Rivet Knife Set for 75% off. Originally $199.99, the set is on sale for just $49.99. The set includes an 8″ Chef knife, 8″ slicing knife, sharpening steel, 5.5″ serrated utility knife, 5″ santoku knife, 3.5″ paring knife, kitchen shears, six 4.5″ steak knives, and a block. It’s everything you need for a kitchen and it is beautiful as well.

I really cannot wait for the day that Canadian Tire is ready to sell their wonderful deals online. Though these are all in store deals, they are all just so good I had to blog about them because they are worth heading out for.

Canadian Tire: Buy 3 Tires Get 1 Free

Canadian Tire: Buy 3 Tires Get 1 Free

The bad winter roads seem to be all over Canada right now, and the safest thing you can do for yourself and your family is to have a good set of tires for your vehicle.  Canadian Tire has a really great deal on right now for anyone looking for a new set of tires. Buy three tires and the fourth tire will be free on select brands.

This deal applies to five different kinds of tires:

  • MotoMaster
  • AW/H
  • MotoMaster SE2
  • Goodyear Wrangler Territory

The actual price of the tires will vary depending on what size and which ones you would like to purchase, but you can get them as low as just $129.99 per tire.  Since you get a fourth when you buy three of them, there is the potential to get all four tires for just $389.97 which is truly an incredible deal.

With the deal you must buy all three tires the same, and the fourth free tire will also be the same.  To be honest though, who would want to buy anything but all the same tires? If you are not sure what size of tire you need for your vehicle, just head into your local store and ask one of the tire experts in the tire department for some advice.

Canadian Tire: Free Tow This Weekend

Posted by on June 28, 2013 at 7:00 AM

Canadian Tire: Free Tow This Weekend

If you get into trouble in your travels this weekend and need a tow, Canadian Tire is offering completely free tows to the nearest Canadian Tire Service Centre. On the other hand, if you get into trouble and get put into jail, sorry, you are on your own. Call your mother.

Canada Day weekend is truly the official start to the summer. Victoria Day weekend is just too iffy with temperatures, too itchy with bugs and doesn’t celebrate our country like Canada Day. Everyone wants to get somewhere on this long weekend, and a lot of them will be driving there. Accidents happen, people run out of gas, cars break down from sitting in that traffic going north. I remember one long weekend where my friend and I broke down on the side of the 401 and the craziness that ensued after. Since we were stuck anyway, we used that opportunity as another day off work and kept the party going, until I ended up in the hospital, but that’s a story for another time. You can keep the party going too, with all the money you’ll save on the tow. The repair charges you can think about later.

The free tow is valid starting right now until Tuesday at 6 am. A licensed driver must be present at the time of the tow. The following vehicles are not eligible for a tow:

motorcycles, motor scooters, any vehicles in excess of 3600 kg (8000 lbs), all terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, dune buggies, taxi cabs, tow trucks, snow plows, tractors, trailers of any description, limousines, boats, dual-wheeled vehicles, vehicles used for competition

Just call 1-888-727-7478 if you need to. Here’s hoping you don’t!

Canadian Tire: Save Up to $150 on KitchenAid Appliances

Posted by on March 9, 2013 at 1:00 PM

Canadian Tire: Save Up to $150 on KitchenAid Appliances

Canadian Tire has a great deal on Kitchen Aid appliances from salad spinners to stand mixers.

There are nine items on sale. Here are a few of the better deals:

My poor wife has been suffering with a broken salad spinner for quite some time now. I know, I know, I’m a terrible provider and have grievously failed my wife but alas I shall make amends by purchasing a KitchenAid salad spinner for a mere $20. Like a phoenix, rising from the ashes, so shall be my appliance providing status! BWAHAHAHA!!!

Also, my poor wife for having to deal with someone who could turn the purchase of a salad spinner into that paragraph.

Anywho, these are really good deals if you need to replace something that is getting a bit older or if you’re just adding something. For example, a toaster oven. I love my toaster oven. When I was right out of college I quite literally never used my oven. Actually, I used it once to cook a ham. That was fun. The toaster oven though, that got used all the time. It was even big enough (as I believe this one is) to fit a 12″ frozen pizza. I still have that toaster oven and I use it quite a bit if I’m just cooking for me or if I’m cooking something for my boy.

Canadian Tire: Keep Your Car Battery Running For Cheap!

Canadian Tire: Keep Your Car Battery Running For Cheap!

Canadian Tire has a bunch of battery charging and jumpstarting products on sale. If you’re going to live in Canada, you need something from this sale!

There are fifteen accessories for your car battery on sale at Canadian Tire right now. These are a few of them:

So I came up with this idea after having to pay $20 and be forty minutes late for work because my car won’t start. It happens a lot in the winter and, as of late, it’s been happening to me a lot. I think I may need a new battery or maybe my alternator is toast but regardless, I’m going to pick up the MotoMaster charger with 100A start that I mentioned above. I can use this to trickle charge my battery which will, hopefully, give it a bit more life. If it doesn’t, well, I’ll get a new battery AND a piece of gear that I think every cold blooded Canadian citizen should have!

The product I’m getting can trickle charge, charge or jumpstart a car but has to be plugged in to a wall outlet to do so. There is a cheaper version of this that doesn’t have the jumpstart capability. If you’re worried about being stuck out in the middle of nowhere and needing a boost, you’ll want something like the Stanley Lithium-Ion Jumpstarter. I am debating gettig the jumpstarter but I think I’ll end up getting the charger with jumpstarter just because I need the trickle charge it provides.

There are a bunch of other items on sale here but make sure you read up on them and check the reviews. Some of them only have two stars!

Canadian Tire is having a sale of up to 70% off many selected items until June 21st 2012. You can check online at to make sure the item you want is in stock at the location nearest you.

Maybe Dad received a Canadian Tire Gift Card for Father’s Day. You save 20% on with the purchase of this item, Canadian Tire will give you a $75 Bonus Card to be used on future purchases. (check in store for details).

Perhaps it’s time for that riding lawn mower. Take a look at this Yardworks 16.5 HP / 42in Transmatic Lawn Tractor, on sale for $1299.99, regular price $1499.99. Who wouldn’t want to ride a tractor to cut the grass and save $200?

I found this beautiful Coleman Xtreme 62 Quart Cooler for my family picnics. It’s large enough to carry everything we need, (and then some) and it’s on wheels so I can actually handle it myself. Don’t miss this one, on sale for $47.99, regular price $79.99, a 40% savings and you’ll find it pays for itself with just one picnic.

My personal favourite and the reason I went to Canadian Tire is the fantastic sale on this Lagostina 12-pc cookset, just $199.99, regular price is $699.99, a saving of $500. I am seriously thinking of buying 2 more sets for gifts at this price.

There are hundreds of items on sale at amazing prices in the Canadian Tire Weekly Flyer.

Gaggleup: iWantWhite Teeth Whitening System (Was $309 now $39)

Gaggleup has a really sweet deal on their website right now.  They are selling the iwantwhite teeth complete whitening system at 87% off, for just $39 with free shipping and taxes included.

This is a great alternative to getting your teeth whitened at the dentist or buying those strips that don’t work the best. The price for this deal is only $39 (regular price is $309).  That is a huge saving! This is also a great deal because you have a year to use it.

Here are some of the highlights of this deal:

  • Unlimited vouchers per person
  • Limit 1 voucher per order on merchants’ site
  • Voucher redeemable online (link will be provided on your voucher)
  • Allow up to 72 hours after purchase for redemption
  • Expires 6th January 2013

Here is a review for this product:

I have to say that I was very satisfied and the results surpassed my expectations. I had my teeth whitened at a dentist about 7 or 8 years ago and I recall paying $300. I honestly had better results with your whitening kit using it at home.
