*Bump! Not long left for you to take advantage of this freebie for the kids!*

Ho, ho, ho! Merry Christmas!

This year, your child could very well receive a letter back from Santa Clause himself if you wish. Canada Post is offering a free mail service which will send your child a personalized letter from Santa Claus – wouldn’t that be so exciting!?

The details are very specific, so pay close attention to detail for sure. You need to have your child write their letter to Santa and then you must mail it to a specific address in order to receive a letter back. They will open up the letter, and write back a personalized letter to each child that participates. It actually sounds like a fun job, honestly. Read the rest of this entry »

Canada Post Puts a Halt to New Community Mailboxes?!

Canada Post Puts a Halt to New Community Mailboxes?!

So here’s a curve ball that may bring you some good news. Since the Liberals won our recent election, Canada Post is in discussion with the government to put a stop to installing new community mailboxes. For now Canada Post has temporarily suspended the conversion, so you will have to stay tuned for more updates regarding this issue.

On Monday there was a news release issued by Canada Post spokeswoman Anick Losier. She said that Canada Post is trying to work together with our Government to determine what path is best in regards to the postal system. It seems like a waste doesn’t it? Read the rest of this entry »

Canada Post: Free Pierre Pierre Belvédère Red Notebook ($17 Value) With Postage-Paid Postcards $2.50 Purchase & Free Shipping (GLITCH?)

Posted by on June 21, 2015 at 6:15 PM

Canada Post: Free Pierre Pierre Belvédère Red Notebook ($17 Value) With Postage Paid Postcards $2.50 Purchase & Free Shipping (GLITCH?)

Need a postcard or stamps? Then hurry up and order them from because for a limited time, you can get a free Pierre Belvédère red notebook, valued at $16.95, with purchase of any anniversary product, such as the 2015 Canadian flag postage-paid postcards for $2.50. Shipping is free as well.

Once you add the postcards for $2.50 to your cart, the Pierre Belvédère notebook will automatically appear in your cart. To view it, simply click “view” on the side of the page, above the big blue checkout button (but only when you have added the stamps to your cart). Unfortunately, it won’t work to see what exactly the notebook consists of but I did find a nearly identical one at That one is currently priced at $16.25 and includes daily journal, address and expense pages for a total of 154 pages. My assumption would be that the one at Canada Post includes the same amount of pages but you never know!

Canada Post: Free Pierre Pierre Belvédère Red Notebook ($17 Value) With Postage Paid Postcards $2.50 Purchase & Free Shipping (GLITCH?)Now this is where it gets tricky (or should I say, glitchy): I mentioned that the notebook will be automatically added to your cart but once you go to actually check out, Canada Post’s system will indicate that one of the items in your cart is unavailable. This is supposedly in reference to the notebook but many Moosers have reported that they were still able to both complete the transaction and to see the notebook as being included on their invoice.

So basically, complete this order at your own risk! If you need postcards or stamps anyways, then I think it’s most certainly worth trying to get the notebook, especially since Canada Post’s system does seem to be pushing the orders through. No word on how much longer this will last though, so if I were you, I would complete the order quickly. If you happen to not receive the notebook, despite your invoice including it, then you could always try to raise the issue with Canada Post directly in the hopes of either getting the notebook later anyways or maybe trying to get a discount. Canada Post Coupon: $25 Henry’s Gift Card with $85 Purchase

Posted by on June 2, 2015 at 4:30 PM

Canada Post Coupon: $25 Henrys Gift Card with $85 Purchase

Canada Post is giving away $25 Henry’s gift cards on any order of $85 or more. Use the following coupon code at checkout when your order totals $85+ pre-tax.

Click here to shop @ Canada Post now

  • Coupon Code: HENRYS
  • Discount: $25 GC with $85 purchase
  • Expiry: 6th June 2015

This deal is not advertised anywhere on their site that I could find but it does work! I tested out the offer with a roll of Baby Wildlife: Permanent™ Domestic Stamps – Coil of 100 for $85. I have waxed poetic on the value of permanent stamps before. We all know postage prices are only going to increase, so buying a load of permanent stamps that never go down in value is a smart move. This roll alone is enough for the Henry’s gift card offer as you can see below:

Canada Post Coupon: $25 Henrys Gift Card with $85 Purchase

When you use the coupon code above, the card will automatically be added to your cart and the price discounted as you can see. The coupon code is case sensitive, so make sure to enter it right.

There appears to be no restrictions on what you can buy at Canada Post. In addition, it appears that this is a ‘pure’ gift card instead of a savings card. That means there is no minimum required for you to redeem the gift card. Gift cards are also ‘giftable’, unlike savings cards.

I think this is an odd team up between Henry’s and Canada Post – but I am stoked about any deal that puts money, even virtual money, back in your pocket.

Canada Post is the perfect place to pick up packing supplies, postage stamps, and pretty coins. I think the recent Looney Tunes coin collection is a nostalgic trip down memory lane for many people. This 2015 $20 Pure Silver Coin – Looney Tunes : Bugs Bunny coin is affordable at only $25.95. For a bit more, pick up one of my favourite characters on the 2015 $10 Pure Silver Coin – Looney Tunes: I Tawt I Taw a Putty Tat!. This Tweety coin retails for $49.95.  There are also many gorgeous stamps to choose from at the Canada Post store.

Canada Post offers free shipping on orders of $25 or more. Thus, you will receive free shipping with this deal as the required minimum is over the free shipping amount.

Canada Post Coupon: Free $10 Tim’s Card with Three Stamp Coils

Posted by on April 22, 2015 at 2:30 PM

Canada Post Coupon: Free $10 Tims Card with Three Stamp Coils

Canada Post is offering a free $10 Tim Horton’s gift card when you purchase three or more coils of stamps. Use the Canada Post coupon code below to add the free gift card to your cart at checkout.

Click here to shop stamp coils @ Canada Post now

  • Coupon Code: COFFEECOILS
  • Discount: free $10 Tim’s gift card
  • Expiry: 24th April 2015

Coils of stamps start at 50 stamps for a price of $42.50. As you need to buy three stamp coils for this offer, you are best just to buy the smallest coils available. Out of all the stamp coil sizes, I picked out my three favourite designs:

You can buy other stamps as well. There are coils of $1 stamps, coils of permanent oversized domestic stamps, international, USA, and more.

In order to get the $10 free Tim Horton’s card, you will need to spend $127.50 minimum on three coils of stamps. This may seem a bit high, but there are several other reasons why you should consider investing in permanent stamps right now.

First, if you just go to the post office and buy a single stamp, that stamp will cost you $1.00 plus tax. However, stamps themselves are only 85¢. The post office now charges a premium for you wasting their time with a single stamp purchase. I believe, if you purchase four or more, then you just pay ‘face-value’ plus tax. With coils, you are only paying face value for all your stamps plus tax.

Secondly, stamps are going to go up again in price. There is no denying it. I remember when a stamp cost 47¢. The smartest people would have purchased a vault full of permanent stamps the first time they became available – but we just are not that smart sometimes. With permanent stamps, your stamps have ‘current retail stamp value’ no matter when you use them. Buy now and use them in four years from now. You are essentially locking in the price of stamps now instead of having to pay the price for postage in a couple year’s time. If you send much mail, this is a very good idea.

Canada Post offers free shipping on orders of $25 or more. Thus, your stamps will ship free of charge.

Canada Post Coupon: Free $10 Esso Card with $88 Purchase

Posted by on January 12, 2015 at 2:30 PM

Canada Post Coupon: Free $10 Esso Card with $88 Purchase

Canada Post has a very nice offer on right now. Receive a free $10 Esso Card with your purchase of $88 or more on their web store.

Click here to shop @ Canada Post now

  • Coupon Code: ESSOLUNAR
  • Discount: free $10 Esso card
  • Expiry: 23rd January 2015

The expiry date above is tentative, this promotion is also available ‘while quantities last’ so it may be terminated earlier.

Spending $88 is not hard if you are a coin collector or you have a coin collector in the family. I still need to purchase this 2014 Limited Edition Proof Silver Dollar – 75th Anniversary of the Declaration of the Second World War. I did not like the first proof coin for 2014, so I was waiting for one of the deviations to come out. I am glad I waited because this is a much nicer coin. My partner has collected proof coins since he was born, his father started the collection, and I am continuing the tradition. The coin costs $69.95, so I am well on my way to reaching that $88 minimum.

This is also a very nice time to invest in some gift sets. Will there be an important birth, birthday, wedding, or event this year? Pick the appropriate gift set for just $19.95:

Now, this may also be an excellent time to load up on stamps. I do not mail a lot of things personally, but I do know a lot of people like to mail cards around Christmas. others have small businesses that require written correspondence. Baby Wildlife: Permanent Domestic Stamps – Coil of 100 will cost you $85, so you are only $3 shy of that free Husky Card. A couple packs of Blank Note Cards – Birds for 50% of will do the trick. Originally $4, these packs are now only $1.99 each.

Personally, I am drooling over the New Zealand Post – The Hobbit Presentation Pack on sale for 50% off. Originally $29.99, the pack is on sale for $14.99 and includes $37.50 NZD worth of stamps. Enjoy six miniature sheets, a gummed first day cover, and a strip of six-self-adhesive stamps. I am tempted to purchase this or the New Zealand Post – The Hobbit Booklet of 10 Stamps for $7.99 (was $15.99). I only wish I could use them on mail in Canada.

Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more at Canada Post. On Fridays, shipping is free. For this and any future Canada Post coupon codes, visit our forum.

Here’s how it works:

  2. Click “Choose a Pick Up Location” when selecting a delivery address
  3. Search by postal code, address, or landmark to find a location
  4. Find the Post Office in your area of choices that is convent to you
  5. Select “Ship to this Address”
  6. Complete the order as usual

Pick Up process:

Amazon will email you when your order is ready for pick up.  Included in that email will be a unique barcode and the hours of operation of the location selected. Simply show that barcode on your mobile phone or print off the email and present along with your photo I.D. that matches the billing address on the original order.  They will hold your order for 15 days so you can pick up when it’s convenient for you.  If you don’t pick up your item within 15 calendar days of delivery, it will be returned to Amazon for a full refund.

This is a neat new feature that other big box stores like Futureshop, Best Buy, and The Source having been doing for some time now.  It will be great to pick up your order on the way home for work or school.  It saves you the worry of having your new Macbook sitting out in the open in front of prying eyes!  I’m still waiting for a drone to deliver my package like has been testing in the U.S.!

Canada Post: 20% Off Moving Boxes & Free Shipping on $25

Posted by on November 3, 2014 at 3:30 PM

Canada Post: 20% Off Moving Boxes & Free Shipping on $25

This is the first time I think we have ever blogged about moving boxes. So let us chalk up plus one for greater variety! Canada post is offering 20% off moving boxes with free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

I know. Usually when you move, you raid the alley behind the local liquor store and there you go – boxes. However, some of us are not lucky enough to have a local liquor store that is negligent enough with their boxes or to have a local store at all. When you are moving, you must have boxes so sometimes you just have to buy them. Enjoy 20% off the following boxes.

Moving Box – 1.5 cu ft – Was $2.49 | Now $1.99 (minimum order: 15)

This box is perfect for moving small but heavy objects that you do not want to break your back. These are ideal for books, CDs, and DVDs. I would even use these for heavier dishes as stoneware and earthenware can get quite heavy.

Moving Box – 2.0 cu ft - Was $3.25 | Now $2.60 (minimum order: 10)

Pack these full of clothing, dishes, and feel free to wrapping your clothing around the dishes as it saves on finding newspaper and works as a swell packing material. Try towels too, they are wonderful for packing fragile items.

Moving Box – 3.1 cu ft – Was $4.25 | Now $3.40 (minimum order: 10)

I consider these boxes your ‘dump everything in and hope it works out’ boxes. they are large and you can really stuff them full. I would probably shove my husband’s huge stack of photo albums in one because they cannot be that heavy… and load another full of linens, blankets, decorative cushions, and more.

Canada Post: 20% Off Moving Boxes & Free Shipping on $25

If you are going to get boxes, then you also need tape! Thankfully, this Four Pack of Packing Tape is also on sale right now. Originally $7.99, the tape is on sale for $6.40. You will need it for taping the bottom of the boxes shut and then taping the tops closed as well.

They also have this Hand-held Stretch Wrap on sale for 20% off as well. This is useful for wrapping up larger items that you cannot box. Use it to wrap standing lamps, couches, and your mattress so they are not damaged in transit. Originally $19.99, a roll of wrap is now $15.99.

After moving, resell your boxes on Kijiji or Craigslist to make back part of your money.

Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

Canada Post Coupon Code: 15% Off RMS Empress of Ireland 100th Anniversary Collector Set

Posted by on August 21, 2014 at 5:30 PM

Canada Post Coupon Code: 15% Off RMS Empress of Ireland 100th Anniversary Collector Set

Canada Post has released a coupon code for 15% off the Empress of Ireland 100th Anniversary Collector Set. The set retails for $99.95, but you can purchase it for $84.96 at Canada Post. You will also receive free shipping as the set retails for over $25 (which is Canada Post’s minimum for free shipping).

Click here to view the Empress of Ireland set @ Canada Post now

  • Coupon Code: EMPRESS2014
  • Discount: 15% off Empress of Ireland Set
  • Expiry: 31st December 2014

This coupon is good all the way until the end of the year dear Moosers. If you have any coin collectors in the family, then consider giving them this beautiful coin, stamp, and book collection as a gift. This collection makes a good gift for stamp collectors and history buffs as well. Personally, I just like big ships and this boy is a tragic beauty.

This collector’s edition is loaded full of marvelous stuff:

  • A book telling the story of the Empress including her role in furthering immigration to Canada and the events of the early morning hours of May 29, 1914.
  • A limited-edition Royal Canadian Mint commemorative coin (only 15,000 pieces made).
  • Two reproduction Empress postcards
  • Stamp collectibles with unique metallic ink cancels
  • A full pane of 16 domestic-rate stamps
  • A souvenir sheet of the international-rate stamp
  • Both Official First Day Covers

The coin is the centerpiece of this entire collection. It alone costs $34.95 at Canada Post and at the It is hard to price compare the entire set because it appears to only be sold at Canada Post.

This set tells a story. For anyone whose families were influenced by the events of the Empress of Ireland, or anyone who cares about Canadian history, this set commemorates an important event in our history as a nation and in Canada’s naval and immigration past. For those of you not familiar with the Empress of Ireland, she is considered the “Canadian Titanic,” which should give you enough context to figure out what happens to this ship full of people traveling to Canada.

Canada Post also has a new “Sold Out at the Mint” Collection where you can shop for coins no longer available at the Royal Canadian Mint. As Canada Post offers free shipping on orders of $25 or more, you can often get a better deal when you buy your coins through Canada Post rather than pay shipping costs on top of the coin costs at the Mint.

Canada Post Coupon: 50% Off Summer Shirts

Posted by on August 15, 2014 at 3:00 PM

Canada Post Coupon: 50% Off Summer Shirts

Canada Post is hosting a summer t-shirt clearance with 50% off all shirts when you use the following coupon code.

Click here to shop t-shirts @ Canada Post now

  • Coupon Code: SUMMER
  • Discount: 50% off tees
  • Expiry: 30th September 2014

There are a few shirts to choose from. One of the t-shirt series is of a postmark from various cities around Canada. Most of the shirts are from the bigger cities like Toronto or Montreal, but I did find this fun Vulcan Postmark T Shirt if you are from a small town in Alberta, or you just like a certain pointy-eared gentleman dressed in blue and black who flies on a space ship. The shirt I linked to is the men’s shirt in medium, though you can find other sizes. Originally $24.99, the shirt comes down to $12.49 after coupon. The postmark tees are designed to resemble a manila envelope with an off centered postmark. They are made in Canada of 100% cotton.

While most of the shirts are in the postmark design, there are a couple XL shirts available in other designs. This XL Trans Canada Ontario T-Shirt in blue and this XL Canada Shield T-Shirt in red are the other two designs you can pick up. They are leftovers from an older run of t-shirts made by Canada Post. Both shirts retail for $32.50, but come down to $16.25 each after coupon code.

While there is not a huge selection of shirts, this deal is still pretty nice because you get 50% off. The postmark series comes in both men and women’s sizes while the other two designs just come in what is leftover. You can find shirts for the following cities:

  • Halifax
  • Toronto
  • Montreal
  • Ottawa
  • Vulcan

It is odd that many of Canada’s major cities (especially in central and western Canada) are not included, but it may be that they sold out quicker than these ones have.

Now, if you are planning to make a purchase you should certainly do so today, or next Friday. However, your selection would be the absolute best today so I suggest making your decision quite soon. Canada post hosts Free Shipping Fridays where you can get any order shipped for free with no minimum. If you wanted to purchase just one shirt, then you could do so today with no shipping charges. On any other day Canada Post has a $25 free shipping minimum spend.

For this and any future Canada Post coupon codes, be sure to check out our forum.

Canada Post: Free Shipping Fridays

Posted by on May 9, 2014 at 5:30 PM

Canada Post: Free Shipping Fridays

Every Friday, Canada Post does away with their $25 minimum and gives you free shipping on any order.

This is a great way to pick up stamps or other items without concerning yourself about shipping charges.

There are plenty of fun little items you can pick up for under $10 at Canada Post. For superhero fans everywhere, the Superman Strip of Four Stamps is just $3.40. If you are looking for a slightly bigger gift, or maybe something to stick one of those stamps on, then pick up the Superman Set of Five Postcards which feature booklet covers:

  • 1939: Superman #1, drawn by Joe Shuster
  • 1939: Action Comics #13, drawn by Joe Shuster
  • 1986: Man of Steel #1 Special Collector’s Edition, drawn by John Byrne
  • 2004: Superman #204, drawn by Jim Lee
  • 2012: Superman Annual #1, drawn by Kenneth Rocafort

The set costs just $9.95. Have to say, I am not familiar with Jim Lee or Kenneth Rocafort, but Shuster and Byrne are legends in the comic world.

For the non-geek there are plenty of other options including sports like the Toronto Argonauts window graphic for $9.99. There are graphics for all the teams across Canada.

Starting off a child’s stamp collection? Check out the Children’s Literature: Stella – Booklet of 10 stamps for $8.50. They are just adorable.

If you miss today’s free shipping, then there is always next Friday. For other free shipping offers, check out our free shipping page.

After you use the coupon code, they come down to only $19.99 each.

If you don’t want either the CBC or the RCMP logo on your bag, you can get the plain Shoulder Bag which costs $34.99. After coupon code it comes down to just $17.49.
