50 Free Moo Cards Via Facebook

Posted by Anna on January 5, 2012 at 11:28 AM

50 Free Moo Cards Via Facebook

Facebook and Moo.com have just announced a joint venture – social business cards! And to celebrate, they’re offering the first 200,000 users of the service 50 free business cards each.

I’ve just tested this out minutes ago, and my cart came up as free, with free shipping too. Order fast though, as I think this freebie will not last for long! It’s actually for the first 500 each day.

You’ve got to have a Facebook account, and allow Moo.com access to your profile (pretty standard with apps like this). You’ve got to use the timeline app on Facebook, and it uses your cover photos as the photos on the free business cards from Moo.com.

    Get them quick!

Tell us in the comments below if you manage to get the freebie!

Free eBook: Free Stuff on your Birthday

Posted by Anna on December 11, 2011 at 10:00 AM

Free eBook: Free Stuff on your Birthday

Steven and Lina, the authors of GroceryAlerts, dropped me a line about an eBook they’ve penned. I rarely post this kind of thing on Bargainmoose, but they’ve done a lot of hard work and come up with a good resource for Canadians. The eBook details a lot of the freebies you can get on your birthday.

These offers are the kind of thing you’ll see here on Bargainmoose tagged with birthday, but Steve and Lina have gone into a lot of detail, covering various categories and digging into deals for various provinces. Some of the nation-wide examples:

Some of the restaurant and dining offer tend to be BOGO (buy one get one) or a free gift with purchase. But that’s all clearly explained in the eBook. A lot of them are totally free, like the 4 deals I mentioned above.

    Portable North Pole

Posted by Anna on December 5, 2011 at 10:00 AM

    Portable North Pole

    *** Bumping for Christmas 2011 ***

Bargainmoosers Dawn and Kimberley sent me word about a kind of “freebie” which is doing the rounds on many forums lately. It’s called the “Portable North Pole.” You simply put in a few details about your child, and it creates a customized video of Santa, which you can show your little one.

The video it makes is very cute. One of my friends made a video for her little one called Edward, and I was quite surprised to see Santa saying “Hello Edward” at the start of the vid. Another of my friends chose to name her daughter something pretty non-traditional though and Tabitha wasn’t in Santa’s repertoire. He just said “hello there” in that case, and it wasn’t quite as impressive.

One friend recorded her little son when he watched it, and his face was a picture when he saw Santa reading out of his special book.

I decided to create one for you guys to watch – here it is! (Sorry there are a few details that probably aren’t right, I had to select some odd things!)

    Canadian Freebie Roundup

Posted by Anna on December 4, 2011 at 2:00 PM

    Canadian Freebie Roundup

Over on our Canadian freebies section, some of the Bargainmoosers have been sharing some super freebies. All of these deals are totally free, with no spend requirements whatsoever.

Free personalized card from Elephoto.ca – if you like their Facebook page, you’ll see how to get a free personalized card from them, with free shipping too. Thanks kolagirl!

Free sample of Hugo Boss bottled night – we’re not sure if this is a postcard style sample or a proper bottle of fragrance, but worth a try! I love the various Hugo Boss fragrances. I got my man some Hugo Boss a couple months ago and it is delicious. Thanks ksanders!

Free BreatheRight nasal strips –  We had these on the blog last year, but worth another mention. Did anyone get them before? What are they like? Thanks Angela!

Ksanders and Hanna have been posting about free eBooks. There are 11,000 free eBooks on The Book Depository, a couple of cookbooks on Amazon,  and some free Kindle eBooks there too. These could be super if you’re treating yourself to a new eBook reader this Christmas.

If you’ve got iOS or Android products, you might like to hear that EA Games is giving out some freebies! As I write this, you can get a few choices for free: Need For Speed Shift, Road Trippin, The Sims Medieval. Thanks Hanna!

Finally, Avigayil shared a freebie from Find Your Bliss. They’re giving away free samples of bath/shower gel and body butter. They used to be US only, but they becamse very popular and have opened up their samples to Canadians too now. Awesome! s

There are more freebies on the forums, I’ve just picked out a number of them to show you the deals. Do you know of another freebie and want to share it with your fellow moosers? Please let us know!

Free 60 Day Trial of Bullguard PC Internet Security

Posted by Anna on December 1, 2011 at 9:15 AM

Free 60 Day Trial of Bullguard PC Internet Security

If you’re looking for Bullguard coupons, you’ve got the option for a free 60 day Bullguard internet security trial, before actually having to pay for the product.

The Bullguard internet security suite has the following points:

    • Scan your PC for viruses, Trojans, spyware and more
    • Check your computer for risky outdated software
    • Back up your photos and music

I’m currently using Kaspersky internet security and it’s going to run out in a few months. I’ve been pretty happy with Kaspersky over the last few years, but I am thinking of giving Bullguard a try. If I like it during the 60 day free trial period, then I will probably buy the full version. The full version of Bullguard internet security costs $40 for 1 computer. You can get a 3 computer license for only $61 though, so that would be better if you have a few PCs that need it.

Living Well: 10,000 Samples of Aveeno (Nov 22)

Posted by Avigayil on November 20, 2011 at 7:30 PM

Living Well: 10,000 Samples of Aveeno (Nov 22)

Living Well is giving away 10,000 samples of Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion on Tuesday – November 22nd. This is your ‘heads up’ ahead of time to sign up for Living Well have you not done so, or to just put a note up.

These samples from Living Well make great travel products because their size enables them to be flight approved – under 100 ml. If you have ever flown during winter it is always drier in the sky than on the ground so a bottle of moisturizer is a good thing to bring along.

Thank you to Mooser Hanna for sharing this on the community forum.

Hot Deals & Steals From The Canadian Deal Forums

Posted by Anna on November 20, 2011 at 9:00 AM

Hot Deals & Steals From The Canadian Deal Forums

There has been quite a bit happening on the Bargainmoose deal forums over the last few days, with hot bargains, coupons and freebies galore. Here’s a bit of a rundown on some of the offers:

If you’ve got a ton of space, Bargainmooser Meggie found a super deal on a huge TV – a 60″ Panasonic Plasma from Futureshop for just short of $2100 (was $2700). Would you have the space for this behemoth of a TV? I’ve got a 42″ Panasonic plasma which already looks big in my room, I couldn’t fit in a 60″!

Bargainmooser Robotafterall mentioned that Steam currently have a half price sale on Bejewelled 3 – you can get it here at Steam until the 21st November 2011 – it’s only $9.99. I’m quite tempted because I love Bejewelled as it is a great little time-waster. But I barely have enough time in the day as it is, so I’m going to pass on this deal myself. I’d become addicted within minutes, I am sure!

If you’re a fan of Chapters, Bargainmooser Trun mentions a deal on their Twice as Nice gift cards which are back for the holidays. Here’s the deal in Trun’s own words:

This is a gift card any cashier can give you for free. Used on a purchase of over $50 in-store, the first time you use it will redeem at least $5 (but could be up to $2500) and the second time you use it will redeem at least $10 (but could be up to $5000). Any remaining amount will stay on it just like a normal gift card.

This deal is happening until the 18th December in-store – good time to buy!

    Freebies

Bargainmooser Hanna mentioned a great upcoming freebie from Livingwell.ca – 10,000 free samples of Aveeno daily moisturizing lotion. The freebie will only become active on Tuesday the 22nd November 2011, so make a note in your diary to check back then.

Another great freebie posted by moooser ksanders is the free Glad compostable bag samples, which you can order here at Glad.ca. This freebie appears to be based on your post code. If your area isn’t eligible for the free sample giveaway, they will give you a free coupon for a $1.50 discount. So as ksanders said, it’s a win either way. Hot Deals & Steals From The Canadian Deal Forums

    Coupons

I’ve been posting a few deals on the forums myself, for those deals which aren’t quite enough for a full page blog post on Bargainmoose. Some quick coupons from myself and a few other forum members:

There are more deals and coupons and freebies over on the forum, go check them out. And if you spot a hot deal somewhere, please come and share it with your fellow Bargainmoosers too!
