This camera is great for the small foot print, but in order to have images that are not blurry you must hold it very still when shooting. This can be a little tough if you are wanting to take many candid images quickly. Overall though, I like the quality of the shots when they don’t come out blurry!

My suggestion is to get one of those ultra mini cute little Jobi tripods that bends around anything. Tripods solve stability issues and can help make sure that you are in the picture – not just the one taking the pictures all the time.

I like this kind of sale because it’s very open. They aren’t trying to force you into buying a specific brand or model. A lot of people, photographers especially, it seems, are brand loyal so forcing them to a brand isn’t good for the store or the customers. Even worse is when a store limits you to a certain few models. I understand why it is done but it’s annoying regardless. The freedom that these types of deals allow is almost better than the savings. Almost.

So I know nothing about cameras. Ok, that’s a lie. I know very, very little about cameras. The one thing I do know is that if you’re really into photography then a dSLR is what you want. Honestly, with some of these prices (there are some cheaper than the ones I listed) it’s just about in the price range of a high end point-and-shoot. For a few bucks more you can get yourself a dSLR. It might not be the greatest dSLR but it should be better than your point-and-shoot.

Weird fact: I prefer Nikon. Not weird on it’s own but when you consider that I’ve literally never used a dSLR in my life and all of my knowledge is 100% theoretical, it’s a little weird. I have advised people to get Nikon over Canon before just based on this off bias. I’ve never had a complaint from my recommendations so I guess my bias is well founded?

If we do a little price comparing with other Canadian online retailers, we can find this exact model of digital camera for $160 at Blacks, $170 at Newegg, $190 at Amazon, $190 at Sears, $160 at The Source, $190 at The Shopping Channel – so we’re definitely on to a winning price from Dell.ca. In fact, I’d say that’s a pretty hot price.
