So I have a whole cart load of books I am planning on buying, and I would like to share my current wish list with you. I am big into fashion so Second Skin: The Erotic Art Of Lingerie and 100 Ideas that Changed Fashion are on my to-buy list. I am also a big manga/anime fan so getting the next March Story, Vol. 3 is certainly big on my list. We are going to Paris, France for vacation this summer and Eyewitness is a great travel guide, so Eyewitness Travel Guides Paris is a must-have (also a great deal at 34% off). Last but not least I want to get Vampire Empire Book 1 because I have heard really good things about it.

What is on your wish list?

Chapters Canada has a great sale of for an entire month.  From now until 1st April 2012, they have select “Dummies” books on sale at 50% off the regular prices.

I personally love this series of books.  There are a couple of the books that i am interested in buying.  One of them is the Gluten-free Cooking for Dummies on sale for $11.99 (regular price is $23.99).  So many people that I know are on this special diet and I would love to have a few of these recipes handy.  Another one that caught my eye was a recommendation from a friend.  They told me that they bought the Guitar for Dummies book and they play very well now.  I was told that it is easy to follow and really works!  It is on sale right now for $14.99 (regular price is $29.99).  For someone who just wants to learn, to play for fun, this book is an inexpensive way of learning.

In addition to this great deal, they have a promotion to go along with it.  Until 1st April 2012,plum rewards and irewards members can enter to win 1 of 4 cash prizes of $5,000 with the purchase of one of the “Dummies” books. Check out Chapters Canada for the rules and regulations.

Bookcloseouts Canada: Save Additional 50% on Cooking, Food & Wine Titles

There is a great sale on at Bookcloseouts Canada right now.  Save an additional 50% on all cooking, food and wine titles for a limited time only.

I love to cook so this sale really caught my eye.  I know you can get almost any book electronically now but nothing beats opening up a good old fashion cookbook and making one of your favorite recipes from scratch!  There are almost 4,000 titles to choose from in this category.

Here are a few on my wish list:

With almost 4,000 to choose from, there really is something for everyone.  I noticed some great books for kids going off to college, I saw some frugal living cook books and many other specialty type books that are harder to find at other stores.  All I did was enter different key words for what I was looking for in the search and they all came up.  It was that easy!  These books would also make some great inexpensive gifts!

Bookcloseouts & Groupon: $30 Worth Books For $15!

Bargainmooser Lara has just emailed me with a really super deal from 2 popular companies here on Bargainmoose – it’s a Groupon deal for Bookcloseouts.ca. You can get $30 worth of books for only $15!

As I write this, you’ve got just over 1 day and 13 hours to buy the Groupon voucher. You pay $15 for the voucher, and you’ll get $30 to spend online at Bookcloseouts.ca.

Bookcloseouts is a really great Canadian bookstore. They have thousands of discounted titles! In the past, Bargainmoosers have written about getting huge boxes of books at amazing prices.

    And Bargainmooser Alda says:

Wow! I ordered 9 new books for my son and doubled each so we could give as add ons to birthday gifts and all for under $25 including shipping. It arrived in no time and not a scratch or dent on them. My son was please, I was pleased and my wallet was even happier! Luv this site!

Bargainmooser TJ got a similar deal:

I just got 15 items… one a boxed set of 4 books, for $60 all in!

They won’t have the latest new releases, but if you are prepared to dig through their catalogue, you can usually find some great bargains on Bookcloseouts.ca.

    Bargainmooser Robin says:

If you ever get the chance-go to the warehouse store in St. Catharines-you could spend days in there finding great bargain books!

Bookcloseouts Canada: Health and Fitness Books Starting at $1.99

Bookcloseouts Canada: Health and Fitness Books Starting at $1.99

Bookcloseouts Canada is having a big sale right now on health and fitness books.  They have books for up to 77% off and as low as $1.99 a book.

There are over 900 books to choose from in this category.  They use the term health and fitness very broadly because they also include relationship books, budgeting, saving money, and beauty secrets.  Most people have the new years resolution to get healthy in the new year and a great way to keep on track with those resolutions are to follow a book.  Sometimes that little extra knowledge and support is all you need to stick with it.

Here are some of the highlights:

All of the books that are on sale are limited in quantities so it will be a first buy basis.  Also if you are buying over $35, remember to check out our earlier Bargain Moose post with a coupon code for $10 off your purchase of $35 or more.  This coupon code is still valid until 31st January 2012.

Chapters Canada: Hardcover Pride & Prejudice & Zombies $4.74 (Orig. $14.95)

Chapters Canada: Hardcover Pride & Prejudice & Zombies $4.74 (Orig. $14.95)

Chapters Canada is selling the hardcover Pride & Prejudice & Zombies for a really amazing price! Pay only $4.74 – originally $14.95. You are saving 67%.

There aren’t any reviews on Chapters, despite this book being a top 50 bargain book. I checked this book out on Amazon.ca where the softcover is priced at $10.79, Chapter’s price is over 50% off Amazon’s price! There are several reviews on Amazon.ca that range from 1 star to 5 star. I do like this one though:

I was excited about this book as soon as I heard the title and I couldn’t wait to read it. Really, how can anything with zombies AND ninjas in it be bad? I knew as soon as I read the first line (a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains) that I was in for a treat. I was not dissappointed. This book had me laughing so hard I decided it wouldn’t be safe to read at work. I expect most people that are going to read this have already read the original Pride and Prejudice (which I love and have read many times). Part of the appeal of this book is seeing familiar lines blanketed by zombie – err “unmentionable” – action….

Have any of our Moosers actually read this book?

There is a new coupon code out for Bookcloseouts Canada that will get you $10 off your purchase of $35 or more until the end of January 2012.  They also have calendars on sale for an additional 50% off.

Here are the details for the coupon deal:

    • Coupon Code: JAN2012PROMO

Chapters Canada: The Best of Chef at Home Essential Recipes for Today’s Kitchen $18.77 (Was $29.95)

Posted by Avigayil Morris on January 8, 2012 at 1:00 PM

Chapters Canada: The Best of Chef at Home Essential Recipes for Todays Kitchen $18.77 (Was $29.95)

I love this cooking show: Chef at Home, and the chef Michael Smith is brilliant. Right now you can get 34% off his cookbook, The Best of Chef at Home: Essential Recipes for Today’s Kitchen. Currently it is only $18.77, originally $29.95.

This book is brilliant, a cookbook that is easy to use and encourages variations – I love that! This book has 75 ratings with a perfect 5/5 stars overall.

    I love this review:

This is a great cookbook, with so many recipes that you will actually use, more than your average book. For the longest time, I’d record all the Chef at Home episodes, and now I have all the favorites collected in this book. I would definitly recommend this book to any kind of cook, beginner to pro, as the ingredients arent impossible to find, the recipes are easy to follow, and the food turns out great. Most of all, what Ive found with Michael Smith is that you start to make the connections in the kitchen with flavours that go together and how the foods all connect, allowing you to really become a true cook. Love it!

It is really funny, I currently record all his Chef at Home rerun episodes on the Food Network because we got it for a couple months as a sample, and I am certainly taking advantage. I am going to be buying this book because after flipping through at in store at Chapters (and at full price) I saw so many recipes I would actually use!

The last show I watched of his he was talking about encrusting your french toast: once it is all egg/milk dipped – roll it in something! I did that yesterday for the hubby and I, and the picture above is of the hubby’s oatmeal encrusted french toast.
