Amazon Canada: Blu-Ray TV & Movies Sale

Amazon Canada: Blu Ray TV & Movies Sale

Amazon Canada is having a blu-ray sale with excellent deals on TV collections and movies. You can view the full sale through the link below or peruse my husband’s ‘best of’ list.

My husband actually sent me this deal (thanks Daniel) because he is a huge movie fan and always on the lookout for great deals to add to his collection. The following is what he considered the best of this sale:

There are some great deals on complete series in this sale as highlighted above. Do note that prices could fluctuate or change at anytime, Amazon has a habit of doing that. My favourite of the above deals has got to be the Harry Potter deal, you are essentially paying $10 a film for the blu-ray version. Just think of all the great extras you get too.

Amazon Canada provides free shipping on all orders of $25 or more.

NewEgg Canada: 50% Off LG Blu-Ray Burner – $50

Posted by on July 24, 2013 at 4:00 PM

NewEgg Canada: 50% Off LG Blu Ray Burner $50

Get an LG Blu-Ray burner for only $49.99 from NewEgg Canada!

How insane is this? There were tons of people who laid out hundreds of dollars for a PS3 because it was the cheapest BluRay player available. Hundreds of dollars just for a player. Now, we get a BluRay burner for only $49.99. Why so cheap? Well, there is a new version of this BluRay burner, so this model has been discontinued. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad item, it just means that they need to get them out of their warehouse to make room for the newer model.

This model features:

  • Max 14x BD-R writing speed
  • Supports BDXL (128GB) discs
  • SATA interface
  • 3D Blu-ray title playback & M-disc support

The only thing I can see that the newer version has is 16x BD-R write vs the 14x of this model. The new one costs almost $120. For a $70 savings, I’d take a slightly slower burn speed. Now, maybe there is something else that the new one has, but nothing that I can see. Regardless, it would take a whole bunch to get me to pay $70 more.

Shipping is $9.99 which is unfortunate, but considering you’re saving $50 (or $70, depending) on this, it isn’t too bad!

And just on a side note, the best place to get blank media in Canada is, fittingly enough, Check them out. They are awesome and their Taiyo Yuden branded media has a fantastic cost/quality number.

Amazon Canada: Select Blu-Rays For Less Than $8

Posted by on July 17, 2013 at 8:00 PM

Amazon Canada: Select Blu Rays For Less Than $8

Amazon has a good selection of Blu-Rays on sale for less than $8 right now. These are some stellar movies you need to add to your collection.

The first movie that caught my eye was Fight Club. This movie is a brain-twisting, must-watch, psychological thriller. Plus, it stars Brad Pitt and Edward Norton. I’d watch it just for that fact. Was $21.99, now $6.99.

Shawshank Redemption is on my list of top ten movies. With many moments of gaping mouthes (yours), this is a movie that can be watched repeatedly. Was $24.99, now $7.99.

The Matrix is one my hubby has watched probably 100 times. Was $24.99, now $7.

Office Space might not look that great, but it is incredibly funny. Jennifer Anniston plays her character in a wicked, wicked way. Was $16.99, now $4.99.

Shipping is free on orders over $25.

Amazon Canada: Buy Select Blu Rays & Get $10 Off At Cineplex

Want to see White House Down? Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx, lots of gratuitous violence and machismo, how can anyone say no? If you do want to see this movie, you can buy a select Blu-Ray movie from Amazon, many of which are around the $10 range, and you’ll get a movie cash certificate for $10 to go see White House Down in theatres. Alternatively, if Matt Damon, Jodie Foster and sci-fi are more your thing, you’ll get $10 towards seeing Elysium.

Basically, you’ll buy the Blu-Ray movie of your choice from the list of selected movies, you’ll get a code to get $10 off your admission to either movie and then you’ll go to and buy your tickets. You will need a printer to print your movie tickets and you’ll need to know what time and date you’ll be going when you do it.

Only one promo code is allowed per transaction and it is not valid for midnight showings or able to collect Scene points. Coupon is valid until White House Down is no longer in theatres.

You’ll basically get your Blu-Ray movie free with this promotion. Some of my favourites from the list you can choose from:

  • 21 Jump Street – probably my all-time favourite movie, was $26.99, now $10
  • Snatch – a must-see! was $19.99, now $9.83
  • Salt – because you can’t just have all the eye candy for yourself, was $19.99, now $9.98

Amazon Canada is offering a huge 74% off the Alien Anthology on Blu-ray. Originally $79.99, the anthology is on sale for $20.99.

This new Anthology box set was just released in March, and has absolutely no information on it on their website. Terrible! So I looked up the set on their sister US website, and according to them this is a six disk set:

  • Disc 2: ALIENS
  • Disc 3: ALIEN 3
  • Disc 4: ALIEN Resurrection

These are FULLY LOADED disks too. They don’t just have one movie… they have all the various versions, so if you are a big fan of Aliens you will LOVE this! For example, disk one includes:

  • Alien: Original Version (116 minutes)
  • Alien: Director’s Cut (110 minutes)

Disk two includes:

Amazon Canada: Tarantino XX Collection Only $55 Today Only

Posted by on June 3, 2013 at 1:00 PM

Amazon Canada: Tarantino XX Collection Only $55 Today Only

Get the Tarantino XX collection on blu-ray for only $54.99, regularly $105.99.

You can buy this awesome collection until the end of the day today and you are limited to only three per person.

Check out all your gory and mind-bending favourites on blu-ray with this collection.

Starting with Inglourious Basterds with the ever-fierce Brad Pitt in a hair-scalping mission to take down the leaders of the Third Reich. I’ve never seen this one and to tell you the truth, I’m kind of scared to! But I do love Tarantino and his uncanny way of making something that makes you squeal with disgust so entertaining and intelligent.

Pulp Fiction is a movie that kept me up many a night thinking about all of the craziness in it. If you haven’t seen it, it is one not to miss.

Kill Bill volumes 1 and 2 are both highly-acclaimed and must-see movies.

Reservoir Dogs was Tarantino’s first explosive feature. I’ve seen this a few times and the layers of suspense could never to be redone. Totally a must watch movie.

Jackie Brown starring among many others, Samuel L. Jackson will have you on the edge of your seat the entire movie.

Death Proof is another I haven’t seen but sounds like another out-of-control film.

True Romance featuring Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette has you falling in love while shielding your eyes.

This set also features two bonus discs with never-before-seen footage and critic discussions. Any film buff will not want to miss out on this entire set plus the bonus discs.

Shipping is free!

Bargainmoosers, which Tarantino film is your favourite?

Amazon Canada: Blu Ray Deals Starting at $8.49

How is your Blu-Ray collection coming along? If you could use a few more but are on a budget, Amazon Canada has a fantastic section of Blu-Ray deals, with movies starting at just $8.49.

I am not a Chuck Norris fan and I am not a big movie watcher but I did find some great movies in this sale. Here are my favourites:

I have seen all four of those movies and enjoyed each one of them. I quite often quote from Robin Hood: Men in Tights because it is such a fantastic (and quotable) movie.

iNetVideo Canada: Jillian Michaels DVDs For Only $4.99

iNetVideo Canada has Jillian Michaels infamous DVDs on sale for as low as $4.99 right now.

The best bang for your buck for fitness videos right now is Jillian Michaels. I have seen countless people on my Facebook update their status whining about how Ms. Michaels had kicked their butts once again, and then a few weeks later, how she’s whittled their butts. Sounds good to me.

The most famous of all the videos is the 30-Day Shred, which happens to be $6.99 on DVD but the blu-ray is on sale for only $8.99, regularly $19.95.

The Biggest Loser is also one of her best workouts, and it is on sale for only $4.99 (Vol. 2), regularly $14.95.

If you are in love with weights like I am, check out Shred-It With Weights, only $4.99, regularly $14.98.

iNetVideo Canada: Best Movies of the Academy Awards Up to 70% Off

The Oscars are this weekend! Remember all the great movies of Academy Awards past and get them for up to 70% off this weekend on DVD and Blu-ray at iNetVideo Canada.

Who do you think is going to win Best Picture this year? I haven’t seen all of the nominated movies but my vote is on Django Unchained. That movie rocked my world. Brutal, but eye-opening in the typical Tarantino fashion.

What is your favourite past Oscar-winning movie? There are so many to choose from. My favourites:

  • March of the Penguins (now $6.99, reg. $19.99) – this movie actually spurred me into labour with my first son
  • The Departed (now $6.99, reg. $31.99) – who doesn’t love a movie starring Mark Wahlberg, Leo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson and Matt Damon?
  • Dirty Dancing (now $9.99, reg. $19.99) – I will never put baby in the corner
  • Chicago (now $6.99, reg. $25.99) – sexy!
  • Lord of the Rings (now only $6.99, reg. $14.96)

Shipping is $2.75 for the first and second items and $1 for each subsequent item. If you wanted to host an Oscar party before the event and watch some of the past winning movies, get expedited shipping for an additional $3 on the first movie.
