Amazon Canada has the exact same set, but it costs $99.99! I bought my husband this set for his birthday and he LOVES it. He is a Harry Potter fan (dragged me to all the movies with him) and this set was icing on the cake. He got to give away his individual movies he had collected in DVD and now he gets to watch them in stunning Blu Ray. When he has more time this summer he might actually get to finish re-watching all of them.

iNetVideo Canada: Jillian Michaels DVDs For Only $4.99

iNetVideo Canada has Jillian Michaels infamous DVDs on sale for as low as $4.99 right now.

The best bang for your buck for fitness videos right now is Jillian Michaels. I have seen countless people on my Facebook update their status whining about how Ms. Michaels had kicked their butts once again, and then a few weeks later, how she’s whittled their butts. Sounds good to me.

The most famous of all the videos is the 30-Day Shred, which happens to be $6.99 on DVD but the blu-ray is on sale for only $8.99, regularly $19.95.

The Biggest Loser is also one of her best workouts, and it is on sale for only $4.99 (Vol. 2), regularly $14.95.

If you are in love with weights like I am, check out Shred-It With Weights, only $4.99, regularly $14.98.

Shipping is $2.75 for the first and second items and $1 for every item after that.

iNetVideo Canada: Best Movies of the Academy Awards Up to 70% Off

Posted by on February 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM

iNetVideo Canada: Best Movies of the Academy Awards Up to 70% Off

The Oscars are this weekend! Remember all the great movies of Academy Awards past and get them for up to 70% off this weekend on DVD and Blu-ray at iNetVideo Canada.

Who do you think is going to win Best Picture this year? I haven’t seen all of the nominated movies but my vote is on Django Unchained. That movie rocked my world. Brutal, but eye-opening in the typical Tarantino fashion.

What is your favourite past Oscar-winning movie? There are so many to choose from. My favourites:

    • March of the Penguins (now $6.99, reg. $19.99) – this movie actually spurred me into labour with my first son
    • The Departed (now $6.99, reg. $31.99) – who doesn’t love a movie starring Mark Wahlberg, Leo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson and Matt Damon?
    • Dirty Dancing (now $9.99, reg. $19.99) – I will never put baby in the corner
    • Chicago (now $6.99, reg. $25.99) – sexy!
    • Lord of the Rings (now only $6.99, reg. $14.96)

Shipping is $2.75 for the first and second items and $1 for each subsequent item. If you wanted to host an Oscar party before the event and watch some of the past winning movies, get expedited shipping for an additional $3 on the first movie.

    BestBuy Canada: Philips Blu-ray Player – $49.99

Posted by on December 30, 2012 at 6:00 PM

BestBuy Canada: Philips Blu ray Player $49.99

Bestbuy Canada has the Philips Blu-ray player (BDP2900) on sale for just $49.99 saving $25 off the regular price. Sale is valid until January 3rd 2013 or while supplies last.

Out of all the searches I did for price comparison, the closest I found was Walmart for $58, so I’m convinced that this is the lowest price. I personally could use a new DVD player, so I’m quite happy I found this deal. It doesn’t hurt to have a Blu-ray player as well and all-in-one works for me.

This Blu-ray player features sharper images in HD 1080p and the DVD up-scaling offers near-HD video quality. You can connect to the internet and to speed up the process, there are shortcut buttons on the remote allowing access to Netflix and VUDU.

My little DVD player recently decided not to work anymore, so this was good timing and as my children say, I should live in the now and look into a Blu-ray player, although I’m not sure if I own any Blu-ray movies.

Shipping: Free on orders of $20 or more.

Amazon.ca: 65% off Lethal Weapon Collection (1 to 4) on Blu Ray! (Only $27.99!)

Posted by on December 14, 2012 at 8:30 AM

Amazon.ca: 65% off Lethal Weapon Collection (1 to 4) on Blu Ray! (Only $27.99!)

Nothing says ‘Christmas’ like a cop movie dripping with testosterone and lewd language. Amazon Canada has a whole box of testosterone dripping cops for super cheap!

The collection retails for $79. You save $52 so only pay $27.99. There are some movies that you just grow up with. Lethal weapon was one that I watched a few years on when I was older (I was only two when it came out) but it was never a big thing for me. Even though it wasn’t a huge thing for me, I know there are people out there who absolutely love these movies. Maybe this Christmas it’s finally time to pass on the Lethal Weapon love to your kids or better yet, your wife.

Shipping is free (to most places) on this since it is over $25. I did a bit of looking around and this is the best price I could find in Canada and, although no one is selling it at the full MSRP, most places are around $10 more.

Amazon.ca: 50% Off Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Episodes I-IV) Box Set

Posted by on December 7, 2012 at 8:30 AM

Amazon.ca: 50% Off Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Episodes I IV) Box Set

Before I go on, I need to tell you something. As we speak, this very instant, I am wearing a Star Trek shirt. I just wanted to get that out there before I told you about the awesome deal that Amazon Canada has on the nine disc blu-ray collection of Star Wars.

The pack was $159.99 but you save $80 and come out only having to pay $79.99.

For you folks who have been living under a rock without an Internet connection, Star Wars was recently bought by Disney. They’ve already announced that they are making three new movies and the writers attached to said movies.

So what better way to get ready for the mere potential of impending awesome than to watch the original six spread out over nine gloriously high quality blu-ray discs? Well, killing a wookie and mounting his head on the wall would be cool but you have those weak triceps from spending too much time on your computer looking up pictures of Princess Leia in the gold bikini. You could never support a gun. You might as well watch gold-bikini-Princess-Leia in blu-ray, right?

Shipping: Depends on quantity and type of items.

Amazon.ca: 60% Off the Home Alone Collection Blu-Ray (Pay $10.49) + Tons of Other Holiday Movie Deals!

Posted by on December 1, 2012 at 9:30 AM

Amazon.ca: 60% Off the Home Alone Collection Blu Ray (Pay $10.49) + Tons of Other Holiday Movie Deals!

Who out there doesn’t have fond memories of Home Alone? No, seriously, I want a show of hands so I can personally write each of you a sternly worded letter on the pitfalls of not liking Home Alone and Home Alone 2.

The collection was originally $25.99. You save $15.50 so only end up paying $10.49.Not a bad deal for this movie. I really do have great memories of this movie. I loved it and I can’t wait until my son is old enough to watch it with me! Now I understand that some of our younger readers or our older reader’s children) may have grown up on the post Macaulay Culkin era so for you, I bring you Home Alone: The Complete Collection on DVD.

This one was $37.98 but you get $25.99 off. You’l only pay $11.99. So that’s only $1.50 more than the regular collection. Of course for some people (me included) paying $1.50 more for the third and fourth Home Alone movies is far too much. But if you like them you like them and that’s your own prerogative. I guess it isn’t technically fully complete because they did release a made for TV fifth movie some time this year.

If these aren’t your kinda movie or you want more Christmas movies, Amazon Canada has a TON of Christmas movies on sale for some great discounts!

Walmart Canada: Lord Of The Rings Blu-ray Trilogy w/ Ring (Walmart Exclusive)

Posted by on November 16, 2012 at 7:00 PM

Walmart Canada: Lord Of The Rings Blu ray Trilogy w/ Ring (Walmart Exclusive)

Walmart Canada has the Lord Of The Rings Blu-Ray Trilogy set with ring on sale for $25.93.  This sale is a Walmart exclusive.  Offer is valid for a limited time only while supplies last.

This is an absolute must for all the Lord of the Rings fans out there.  I have a set, but not this one and certainly not the ring.  I know that every fan, including myself would love to receive this under the tree.

Who can forget the 1st movie, The Fellowship of the Ring, where Frodo starts off as a young hobbit thinking of nothing more than his home and surrounding Shire.  He suddenly inherits a ring and is off on a quest against evil.

Then we patiently awaited the 2nd movie, The Two Towers, which was the same quest, with many twists and characters going their own way.  I love that amazing battle at Helm’s Deep and Legolas reminding me of Link from Zelda.

At last we have the conclusion, The Return Of The King where everyone prepares for the final battle for Middle Earth.  There are some awesome battles in this one as well, although the scenes with Frodo and Sam tend to run on, but the movie was worth the wait.

Check out Walmart’s other movie sets available as well.

    Shipping: Free for most items.

Sony.ca: Save up to $500 When You Bundle Home Entertainment Systems

Posted by on November 14, 2012 at 9:30 PM

Sony.ca: Save up to $500 When You Bundle Home Entertainment Systems

Sony Canada sells a lot of TVs. The problem is that TVs get a little lonely sometimes. Sony doesn’t want the TVs to get lonely, so they are making it foolishly easy for you to get a Blu-Ray Home Theater friend for your new TV!

There are six bundles available with different TVs and Blu-Ray Home Theater systems. Here they are:

A few notes on the links above; First off, I split the links up so that if you click on the TV, you see the info for the TV. If you click on the Blu-Ray Home Theater, you see the info for that product. They don’t have a link that shows you both items as a bundle with all their specs. All the prices will reflect savings only at checkout, and your price in the cart will show the full price.

You can’t really go wrong with any of the deals on here. They are all really good. It just depends on what you want/need, I suppose. Luckily, Sony has a good range of sizes and qualities here.

The Blu-Ray home theater systems are great too. If you’re going to have a nice HDTV like one of these, you really need a home theater system. The speakers in these TVs are generally pretty terrible and you really need a better setup, whether it be a sound bar or a full fledged Blu-Ray home theater system like they have here. While they’re bundled, you might as well get one! You’re only paying $100 or $300 for the home theater system, depending on which bundle you pick.
