$20 Off Roku 1 Streaming Media Player @ Best Buy & Future Shop Canada – Now $40

Posted by on January 25, 2015 at 1:00 PM

$20 Off Roku 1 Streaming Media Player @ Best Buy & Future Shop Canada Now $40

Right now at either Best Buy or Future Shop, you can pick up the Roku 1 streaming media player for just $39.99. It usually retails for $59.99. Shipping is free as well.

Back in November, Walmart had the Roku 1 on sale for just $10 at Walmart. That was a phenomenal price drop and as it turns out, was a massive error that was quickly corrected as well. Nonetheless, if you have been eagerly waiting for another similar price drop, then this deal from Best Buy and Future Shop is perhaps the best one that we’re going to see for a while. Anything can happen, of course, but if you have been wanting to get this useful device, then now is as good a time as any.

So what exactly is the Roku 1? It’s a media streaming player that provides access to over 450 channels with over 150,000 movies and TV shows. Plus, you can even use your smart phone as a remote with their handy app — you know, for those times that the remote falls on the floor and you’re too lazy to pick it up? $20 Off Roku 1 Streaming Media Player @ Best Buy & Future Shop Canada Now $40

Wondering what hockey has to do with the Roku? With it, you can also stream tons of sports live like NHL GameCenter, MLS live, UFC and more.

If you’re not very techy and are worried about running into difficulties setting the Roku up, then you will be happy to know that it’s super easy to install, as evidenced by this review:

Surpasses my expectations….Easy to set up, great sound, good image quality…Good product for the price.

One the biggest negative comments with the Roku is with regards to the Canadian content. It’s a media streaming device that is US-based, which then expanded into the Canadian market and as such, they are still in the midst of adding content. This reminds me of the negative feedback that the Canadian Netflix has generated over the years and yet, even it has significantly improved. So the way I see it is that the Roku is definitely worth getting on sale, especially since it’s sure to only get better and better.

Best Buy Canada: Up to 25% Off LEGO

Posted by on January 25, 2015 at 6:00 AM

Best Buy Canada: Up to 25% Off LEGO

Best Buy Canada is offering up to 25% off the popular LEGO brand of building blocks.

The LEGO City Police Pursuit (4437) is one of the best LEGO deals at Best Buy. Originally $19.99, the police set is now on sale for $14.99. The set includes a forest policeman mini figure, robber mini figure, police ATV, robber off-road vehicle, gold bar, money bill, and a crow bar. I price compared this set with other stores and here is what they have it for:

  • $19.65 @ Amazon.ca
  • $19.99 @ Toys R Us Canada
  • $19.86 @ Walmart Canada (OOS)

Next, I chose the LEGO Ninjago Garmatron (70504) because it has a very good discount and looks to be a fun little device. Originally $49.99, the set is now on sale for $36.99, which means it also receives free shipping. The set includes three mini figurines, several weapons, the ice shooter, and the battle machine, Garmatron. I could not find the set many other places in Canada, Chapters Indigo alone seems to sell it and their price is $49.95.

I have not seen the Lord of the Rings for some time, but I am trying to remember a pirate ship in the movies. Do you remember one? Anyway, this LEGO The Lord of the Rings Pirate Ship Ambush (79008) was $129.99 and is now on sale for $109.99. This is a huge set and I just want it because three of the mini figures are some of my favourite companions: Aragorn, Legolas Greenleaf, and Gimli. I found this set at Chapters Canada for $129.95 and at Amazon Canada for $159.99.

This LEGO The Lone Ranger Silver Mine Shootout (79110) would also be a very interesting set to own. I wish I could just steal Tonto right out of the set, he makes the coolest looking Lego mini figure ever – complete with the dead raven. In fact, all the mini figures in this set look awesome. Originally $89.99, the set is now on sale for $71.99. Chapters and mastermind Toys both have this set still priced at $89.95, but Amazon Canada comes in a very close second at $72.19 from a secondary seller but there is only one in stock.

There are many other sets on sale as well. Some of these sets will sell out quicker than others; you know how popular LEGO is these days.

Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

Best Buy Canada: $60 Off Cuisinart 15pc Knife Block Set – Now $90

Best Buy Canada: $60 Off Cuisinart 15pc Knife Block Set – Now $90

Mmmmm general tao… why go to a restaurant when you can make your own? But you’re going to need a good knife and if you don’t already have one, then I found a great deal on the Cuisinart 15-pc knife block set at Best Buy. Originally priced at $149.99, you can now save $60 and get it for just $89.99.

Using a picture of delicious-looking General Tao when talking about a knife block set may seem like an odd choice but fact of the matter is that you need a good knife when handling meat. I’m not the one who handle the deboning and slicing chore or meat handling in my household, but every time my hubby does it, he makes sure to sharpen his knife beforehand!

The Cuisinart 15-pc knife block set comes with:

  • 8″ chef’s knife
  • 8″ bread knife
  • 5.5″ serrated utility knife
  • 5″ Santoku knife
  • 3.5″ pairing knife
  • Six 4.5″ steak knives
  • Sharpening steel
  • Shears (scissors)
  • Knife block

Just writing about this knife block set is making me want to get it for myself because the blade is made from high-carbon stainless steel and the handle is ergonomically designed. My hubby is a leftie, while I’m a rightie, so it would definitely make things easier for him.

Personally, I would ditch the knife block, however. I have heard it being mentioned numerous times on television daytime shows like The Doctors and Dr. Oz that these are the perfect habitat for bacteria. Perhaps it would be okay to use at first but it should definitely be discontinued after a couple of months.

Price comparing, I found this same knife block set retailing for its full price of $189.99 at Sears.

To get back to the topic of General Tao, if you have never made it yourself, it’s super easy and I definitely recommend General Tsao’s chicken recipe available on All Recipes. If you like cooking completely from scratch, then it’s the perfect recipe to follow or you could just do what I do and buy a bottle of General Tao sauce. Once your chicken is cooked, you simply douse it in the sauce and voila — restaurant quality General Tao! Best Buy Canada: $60 Off Cuisinart 15pc Knife Block Set – Now $90

Shipping Best ships orders over $25 for free, you’re sure to get this knife block set shipped to you at no extra cost.

Philips Bluetooth Speaker Was $70 | Now $30 @ Bestbuy.ca

Philips Bluetooth Speaker Was $70 | Now $30 @ Bestbuy.ca

Best Buy Canada has discounted the Philips SBT75 Bluetooth Speaker from $69.99 down to just $29.99. The red version is still in stock and waiting to find its way into your cart. Receive free shipping on the Philips speaker as the unit costs over $25.

This is an older model speaker, I assume, as no one really has it in stock anymore. When trying to price compare, I found it from a Marketplace seller on Amazon Canada for $107 plus shipping and from Amazon.com for $55.48 US in white. They also had black, but it was more expensive. Given these few price comparisons, I figured that best buy’s deal was worthy of a little attention.

This little speaker uses Bluetooth technology to wirelessly stream music between your music player and the speaker system. The built in lithium battery lasts up to five hours and can be recharged via the included USB cable. Charge the portable Philips speaker off your laptop or use a USB to wall charger connection like the Anker 40W 5-Port Family-Sized Desktop USB Charger I have mentioned a couple times before. I find it is faster to charge my wireless speakers using a wall charger.

I scouted out Amazon.com for reviews. With 114 reviews, the Philips SBT75 Bluetooth Speaker averages a 4.2/5 stars. One reviewer said:

I found this speaker at Best Buy on clearance for under $40. I thought when I purchased it that it would sound completely crappy, however, it sounds good. It doesn’t sound like an amazing home stereo system, but rather a really good sounding small speaker. It seems to last about 5 or 6 hours on a charge.

Do note that this speaker does not work for conference calls – you cannot use this for audio ‘in’ is my assumption. However, for the price it looks like a great purchase to play your tunes. The small size and five hour battery life allows you to throw it in your backpack, purse, or car and take it with you. I also like the colour: black is so easy to miss and white gets dirty very quickly. Red stands out and is noticed.

If you own this little speaker system, drop us a comment to tell us what you think of the unit.

Best Buy & Future Shop Canada: Kobo Arc 10.1″ Was $300 | Now $170

Posted by on January 5, 2015 at 10:06 AM

Best Buy & Future Shop Canada: Kobo Arc 10.1 Was $300 | Now $170

Best Buy and Future Shop have a hot deal on the Kobo Arc 10.1 16GB tablet that was $300 and now only $169.99. This is the lowest price I’ve ever seen this tablet.

This is seriously a great deal that I’m considering taking advantage of. My kids have Kobo Arc tablets in the 7″ version and they are great. I like having a larger screen, so I considered buying this tablet at full-price last year. Instead, I can save $130 and get it today until January 8th or until they sell out.

You might think of Kobo as just an e-reader but this Android tablet is just as good as any other Android tablet and even rivals iPad in my opinion at half the price. You can of course, use it as an e-reader as well, although it doesn’t have the same type of screen you see in e-readers that make them so great at the beach.

I personally like the 10″ because I use my tablet for recipes and I like to be able to see it larger. Of course, watching movies and surfing is also better on a larger screen and I still find this size portable enough to put in my purse.

This tablet has a 4.3 star rating out of five, with value being rated the highest and performance almost as good.

Impressive processing power under the hood makes the Arc 10 quite fast. A bit heavy, a bit boxy, but the back is well-designed and actually pretty cool-looking with a grippy coating.

I really like this device! I still have to play around with it a fair bit more to figure out all the things that it can do, but so far so good. The only thing is that the speakers don’t seem very loud sometimes, but that may just be me…

Interestingly enough, I don’t see this tablet on sale anywhere else, so this truly is the best price you’ll get it anywhere.

Shipping will be free from both stores, as you are exceeding the $25 free shipping threshold.

Best Buy Canada: 50% Off Cosco Funsport Play Yard – Only $40

Posted by on January 4, 2015 at 1:17 PM

Best Buy Canada: 50% Off Cosco Funsport Play Yard Only $40

Best Buy Canada is selling this Cosco Funsport Play Yard (Brown/Red/Orange) for just $39.99, which is 50% off the original price of $89.99. As the Cosco Play Yard is over $25, it qualifies for free shipping as well.

Future Shop has the same deal on as they are twin stores, but I have a very good reason to blog the deal from Best Buy. Best Buy Canada has a secondary deal on right now where, if you purchase $50 or more worth of toys (and this play yard is somehow included in that), you will receive a free Words With Friends Race Board Game valued at $9.99. You need to add that game to your cart of are buying $50 worth and want the game for free.

This play yard is exceedingly difficult to find in Canada for price comparison purposes. An eBay seller is offering the Cosco Play Yard for $69.99 with free shipping across Canada right now. There is also an Amazon Marketplace seller asking $87.40 plus $47.25 shipping! I checked out prices in the USA and the cheapest I could find was $39.40 US on rollback at Walmart.com (different print) but the regular price was more around $49.50 US to $55.99 US. With the current exchange rate, you are still getting a better deal at Best Buy (not to mention duty).

I asked my colleague Brooke what she thought of this deal as I am not too familiar with children’s accessories and this one is so hard to find in Canada. She said:

That’s good! I am not particularly fond of the brand, but the price is great especially if you are just using it for sleep overs at the in laws or something

She also pointed out that other brands, like Graco, tend to be much more expensive for similar units.

If you are on a budget and need a great little play pen (as they used to be called in my days), then this is the unit for you. The colours are a nice neutral and perfect for either gender. The floorboard is padded for comfort and safety. There are four mesh panels so you can always see your little one as well. The playpen also features wheels so you can easily glide the play yard from room to room when baby is sleeping. A carry bag is included so you can transport the pen for family visits or travel.

Misfit Flash Activity & Sleep Tracker Just $30 | Was $50 @ Best Buy & Future Shop Canada

Misfit Flash Activity & Sleep Tracker Just $30 | Was $50 @ Best Buy & Future Shop Canada

Smart watches are all the rage lately and if you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon yet, then both Best Buy and Future Shop have a fantastic deal on the Misfit Flash wireless activity and sleep tracker. Right now, you can get one of these trackers for just $29.99 instead of their regular price of $49.99.

As you can see on the picture above, it’s not a smart watch per se but it’s comparable to one as it tracks physical activity, along with sleep duration and quality. Once the tracker is turned on, twelve little lights will serve to illustrate your level of activity.

The Misfit Flash can most notably track:

  • number of calories burnt
  • number of miles/km travelled
  • duration of sleep
  • quality of sleep

It’s also waterproof up to 30 meters and you won’t have to worry about wearing it during wet conditions. The battery should last you up to 6 months, though according to one reviewer, it lasts 3 months. Keep in mind that it needs to be synced with a smart phone for optimal tracking as you will then be able to track your progress with fitness stats and daily goals.

A couple of reviewers have noted that this is a great tracker with the only drawback being that the wrist band is perhaps not made from the best material. Considering the price, this is a factor that can be easily overlooked, especially since this tracker may also be clipped nearly anywhere like on a shirt, inside a pocket and even on your shoe! Here’s what one reviewer had to say about it:

I bought this to test out the accuracy of a wearable fitness monitor, before plunking down bigger bucks on something fancier. I am pleasantly surprised at its accuracy so far, even the sleep monitor component. The watch band isn’t the greatest quality but you get what you pay for.

It’s also available in the following colours: black, white, pink, blue, reef green or white.

Since both Best Buy and Future Shop ships orders totalling over $25 for free, you’re sure to get this nifty gadget shipped at no extra cost as well.

Best Buy/ Future Shop Canada: Wii U Super Mario 3D World Deluxe Set Just $250 (Was $300)

Best Buy/ Future Shop Canada: Wii U Super Mario 3D World Deluxe Set Just $250 (Was $300)

Ready to make the leap into the land of the Nintendo Wii U? Both Best Buy and Future Shop have discounted it by $50. Until the first day of the new year, you can get it for just $249.99, instead of its original price of $299.99.

The last time that we saw the Nintendo Wii U go down in price to just $250 was all the way back in the third week of November during Toys R Us’ Moonlight Sale and even then, the sale only lasted two hours! Even Best Buy’s and Future Shop’s discount aren’t that long-lasting as you can only secure them during the next couple of days. Everywhere else, this console is still priced at its full price of $299.99.

This Nintendo Wii U deluxe set comes with the console itself, a sensor bar, a gamepad, and the Super Mario 3D World game. Other accessories like a gamepad stand and all of the necessary wiring are also included.

I bought this exact same set last year and I LOVE it. Super Mario 3D World is a super fun game to play, especially as a team with someone else or even a couple of friends and will most definitely keep you entertained for days, if not months like in my case. Plus, once you have officially beat the game, there are a couple of bonus levels to keep you entertained just a little while longer.

Unlike the PlayStation and Xbox consoles, a major perk of getting the Wii U is that it’s backwards compatible. This means that if you have the previously released the version, the Wii, then you could still continue to use the games that you already have. This is a major advantage, especially if you have a large collection of Wii games just sitting, waiting to be played.

Since both Best Buy and Future Shop ship orders over $25 for free, you’re sure to get your brand new toy delivered at no extra charge as well! Best Buy/ Future Shop Canada: Wii U Super Mario 3D World Deluxe Set Just $250 (Was $300)

$90 Off Sennheiser RS126 II – Now $89.99 @ Best Buy & Future Shop

Posted by on December 25, 2014 at 12:10 PM

$90 Off Sennheiser RS126 II Now $89.99 @ Best Buy & Future Shop

Best Buy and Future Shop are selling the Sennheiser RS 126 II Wireless On-Ear Headphones for just $89.99, saving you $90 (50%) off the original price for Boxing Week.

Its rather funny looking at Future Shop and Best Buy because each quotes a different discount. Best Buy says the headset is $90 off, and Future Shop says the headset is $50 off. I think that Best Buy might be right in this instance as my price comparisons show that this headset goes for quite the price at most retailers:

  • $179.99 @ Dell Canada
  • $199.99 @ Staples Canada
  • $199.99 @ The Source (older version)
  • $129.99 @ London Drugs (older version)

The only place I could find that matched the twins’ price was Amazon Canada at $89.99 on a lightning deal. As Best Buy and Future Shop have this deal on until the 28th, I figured this was the better place to find the headset.

I have been looking for a wireless headset for some time. While I love my Denon headset, sometimes wires are terribly inconvenient and I just want to listen without tangling myself up in a cord. I decided on Sennheiser a while ago because they make such a large variety of wireless headsets to suit all budgets. The Sennheiser RS126 II is the second edition (note that) of this headset. It features an open, supra-aural wireless RF headphone system giving detailed sound reproduction and good strong base.

The wireless headset can communicate with your MP3 player or phone up to 100 meters. The headphones come with a transmitter with metal cradle for storing and recharging the headphones. Rechargeable AAA NiMH batteries are also included. The headphones are also very lightweight making them comfortable to wear for long durations.

The main negative thing I have heard is that there is static. However, with four channels you should be able to tune that out. It could also be due to interference if you are using many Bluetooth products in your house. This reviewer said:

If you want to get rid of the burden of cables this option is optimal. Sound quality is great and headphones are very comfortable. I use them in the office to listen to music, not to wear them while walking around the house. The manufacturer’s stated usable range is about right, so watching TV or listening to music in the same room is not a problem.

Overall, I think these are a very good buy for the money you are spending. Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

Sennheiser HD 335 Headphones Was $150 | Now $69.99 @ Best Buy *HOT*

Posted by on December 24, 2014 at 9:12 PM

Sennheiser HD 335 Headphones Was $150 | Now $69.99 @ Best Buy *HOT*

I am pretty stoked to see a fair quality headset included in the hot Best Buy and Future Shop deals that just were released. Pick up these Sennheiser HD 335s Headphones for just $69.99, originally $149.99.

As they are twin companies, you get the same deal from both big stores. If the headset sells out at one you can buy it at the other store. Now, this headset is really hard to find in Canada so a lot of the price comparisons you see below are from the USA:

  • $112.86 US @ Amazon.com
  • $119.95 US @ Sennheiser
  • $119.99 US @ Bestbuy.com
  • $168.30 + $ 7.78 @ Amazon.ca Marketplace

That is the beast I could do on a price comparison for this unit, so I am pretty pleased with this deal.

While the title calls these on-ear headphones, the description says “over the ear” on Best Buy Canada. There is a big difference between those two models, so I am curious as to what model this is – I am assuming it is over the ear given the size of the closed ear cups. The right ear-cup rotates, which is perfect for one-ear listening in studio settings or for performances. I had a pair of Shure headphones that cost a LOT more than this with a rotating ear-cup. Even though I do not have a studio, the ear-cup was nice for being able to listen to my music and get interrupted at the same time.

The headset also has these funky features:

  • Integrated omnidirectional microphone
  • In-line remote
  • Embedded volume dial located on the ear cup

Expect amazing sound with 14Hz – 20kHz frequency response, 112dB sensitivity, and 32 ohms impedance. They also passively block out a good deal of noise so you can enjoy your music without the sound of screaming children interrupting the process.

This headset is going to give you a lot for the price you are paying. At only $70, I cannot think of a better headset to spend your money on.

Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

$72 Off – Beats by Dr. Dre Pill 2.0 Only $148 @ Visions Electronics *HOT* (EXPIRED)

Posted by on December 24, 2014 at 8:31 PM

$72 Off Beats by Dr. Dre Pill 2.0 Only $148 @ Visions Electronics *HOT* (EXPIRED)

Hurry over to Visions Electronics and score the highly sought after Beats by Dr. Dre Pill 2.0 come in for Boxing Day. Originally $219.99, the Pill 2.0 is on sale for $148 with free shipping at Visions Electronics.

This is one of the big-ticket sale item so many stores but NONE can beat Visions Electronics price. Unfortunately, the black is only available in store and the silver is not included in the sale. However, you do still have three coulours to choose from including the celebrity inspired pink that is sold out on most websites (like Future Shop and Best Buy)

I price compared this unit with other stores. While also on sale at many other stores, Visions was the best as you can see:

  • $169.99 @ Best Buy Canada
  • $169.99 @ Future Shop Canada
  • $179.94 @ Staples Canada
  • $219.99 @ NCIX.com
  • $197.96 @ Microsoft Store Canada
  • $219.95 @ Apple Store Canada
  • $169.99 @ Amazon Canada

This is a small but loud external speaker. They come with all the features you would expect in a speaker including a seven-hour rechargeable battery and a charge out port so you can charge your phone or MP3 player while listening. The Beat Pills also have a cool tap feature where you can tap two Pills together once to get them to play the same song simultaneously. Tap two pills together twice and one will become a left speaker and the other a right speaker. Enjoy instant surround sound.

As one reviewer says:

This is one of those speakers that you’ll actually want to carry with you. It looks good, fits in your pocket and delivers loud sound relative to its size.

All of these cute little Dr. Dre Pills come with free shipping from Visions Electronics. The Visions sale is massive, and I really look forward to seeing what else they have to offer!

Best Buy: 75% Off iHome iW2 Wireless Speaker ONLY $49.99 *HOT* (EXPIRED)

Posted by on December 24, 2014 at 8:00 PM

Best Buy: 75% Off iHome iW2 Wireless Speaker ONLY $49.99 *HOT* (EXPIRED)

Oh holy mother of pearl I am in love! Best Buy Canada just opened up their Boxing Day sale. Make sure to get your hands on the iHome iW2 Wireless Speaker (IW2SVC) for just $49.99, originally $199.99! You save $150, which is just breathtaking and you will also receive free shipping.

I do not need a new wireless speaker: I just bought the Sony SRS-X5 and I own the more portable Carbon Audio Zooka. However, need and want often do not align. I want this beautiful wireless speaker so badly. First, this is different from anything I own, as it does not operate via Bluetooth. Rather, the iHome iW2 uses Airplay to transmit your music and more over your home Wi-Fi.

The primary benefit of using your Wi-Fi connection over Blutooth is a better connection between the speaker and your MP3 player (or phone) wherever you are in the house. Most Bluetooth speakers have a range of 10 meters, or 30-feet. With a Wi-fi speaker, you can stream music from any part of your house that your Wi-Fi connection reaches. There will be no music stuttering, breaking up, or suddenly stopping because you went a couple feet too far or popped into the bedroom.

While this wireless iHome speaker is designed to stay at home and meld seamlessly with your home Wi-Fi network, it does come with a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery. This gives you the option of moving the iW2 speaker into the kitchen, the bathroom, or the bedroom at your convenience without having to bring the plug. The speaker’s battery will last up to five-hours unplugged.

The iHome iW2 will also charge your iPhone, iPod or iPad via a USB docking station and comes with a USB sync cable. Furthermore, there is an iOS app designed to work with the speaker and your iOS devices to create the best sound possible. According to reviews, you can also plug an android phone in to the base.

This unit is an absolute steal at this price. Amazon currently has the black model on sale for $136.98 and you just do not see AirPlay wireless speakers for the $50 range.

As this speaker costs over $25, it will ship for free. Enjoy this deal and many other great offers during the Best Buy Boxing Day sale.

Best Buy Canada: $150 Off Refurbished Xbox One Console With Kinect + 2 Digital Games Just $350 (Starts @ 8pm)

Starting at 8pm EST tonight, the Xbox One 500GB console with Kinect will be dropping in price to just $349.99! Its original price is of $499.99 and it also comes with a free digital download of Ryse: Son of Rome.

It may be refurbished but this deal is guaranteed to fly off the shelves at it’s a whopping $150 discount! Refurbished is nothing to be scared of since you can rest assured that the product will function just as well or perhaps even better than a regular one. Plus, even if it doesn’t, you can just bring it back to the store. This console has a 90-day manufacturer’s limited warranty. Plus considering that video consoles are rather pircey at regular price, buying them refurbished is one of the best ways to save money. If you’re buying it for your kids, then you could just tell them that Santa ran a little late on delivering all the presents this year. Best Buy Canada: $150 Off Refurbished Xbox One Console With Kinect + 2 Digital Games Just $350 (Starts @ 8pm)

On its own, an Xbox One console typically retails for $399.99 and $499.99 with Kinect, so just $350 for both the console, Kinect and even a free digital copy of a game definitely pushes this deal over the edge.

The promotional picture shows that this console also comes with a digital download of Ryse: Son of Rome but according to the description, it also comes with a digital copy of Dance Central Spotlight.

Since Best Buy ships all orders over $25 for free, you’re sure to get this console delivered at no extra cost. You might also be able to reserve it in-stores. If it’s available at your nearest Best Buy, then it might be a good idea to line up in the wee hours of Boxing Day morning just to make sure that your snag yourself a copy.

If you plan on taking advantage of this deal, then make sure to also pick up an extra Xbox One controller as the console only comes with one. Earlier today, Avi blogged about a deal at The Source, where it’s currently $39.99 instead of its usual price of $59.99.

Best Buy Boxing Day Flyer Released! (Sales On 24-28 Dec 2014)

Best Buy Boxing Day Flyer Released! (Sales On 24 28 Dec 2014)

Yesterday I wrote about a short-lived deal where you could get $25 off $100 online @ BestBuy. It didn’t last for long so I hope some of you got in on the action. If you did not, perhaps you’ll be interested in the Boxing Day sales flyer which they have just released!!

The flyer deals aren’t yet available online – the official sale is due to start at 8PM EST on the 24th of December 2014. So, if you’re interested in bagging the bargains early, make sure you are online for the start of the sale.

If you’re going to brave the Boxing sales in-store, you’ll want to be there at 6am (!) on the 26th. I’m afraid I will probably have a little too much wine in my system to be out and about that that hour of the day.

Anyway, there are a lot of deals in this 39 page flyer, so have a read of it yourself. As usual here on Bargainmoose, we like to highlight a few of the items to show you how good or bad the deals actually are.

Sony 60″ 1080p LED Smart TV (KDL60R510B) – was $1399.99 will be $999.99 – This HUGE TV will be reduced by a further $400 on the marked price just now. I cannot seem to find the exact model on their site just now, I can only see the model ending in A, so they might update that before the actual sale. The web code shows this TV, so it could be that model and just a typo in the flyer. This TV is around $1300 everywhere else.

HP 15.6″ Touchscreen Laptop – was $699.99 will be $449.99 – This looks like a pretty decent little laptop for the price. Spec wise, it’s a AMD Quad-Core A8-6410 APU processor with 8GB of RAM. It has a 750GB hard drive, which should be pretty good for home use.

For those who are more of the Apple persuasion, there’s a silver Apple 13.3″ MacBook Air on offer – down from $1199.99 and it will be $999.99. I’m a PC girl so my knowledge on Macs is slightly lacking, but from the spec I can see that this is a 1.3GHz dual core Intel Core i5 processor and it also comes with 8GB of RAM. Similar in spec to the HP laptop I’ve mentioned above, but twice the price!!

For a slightly smaller TV, the Black LG 32″ 720p 60Hz LED TV (32LB520B) is now $299.99 and it will be dropping by a further $70 down to $229.99 with free shipping. Shweet price for a little TV! I remember 15 years ago when a 32” TV was considered to be a fairly large TV… but not any more! This LG TV only seems to be sold by Future Shop and Best Buy, I cannot see it priced anywhere else.

Remember, I’ve price compared all of the above deals as of TODAY. Competitors prices are going to change over the course of the Boxing Day sales, so make sure you price compare again, if you are actually buying anything.

Here are a few of the first pages of the flyer, but you can see them all here.
