Memory Express Canada: ONE DAY ONLY! Asus X54C Laptop Only $400 (Save $100)

Gone are the dark days of laptops being a luxury item. MemoryExpress has helped usher in the era of every household having a laptop and they are continuing with the Asus X54C.

Remember the dark days of laptop computing? The days when you only had a laptop if it was issued to you for school or work or if you were rich or had saved up tons of money? Yeah, me too. Weren’t those just terrible days? I remember paying over $2000 for a Toshiba laptop that is less powerful (by quite a bit) than my phone.

The Asus laptop being offered is perfect for the casual user and priced accordingly. It’s only $399.99 which is $100 off the regular price of $499.99. You aren’t gonna be playing the latest games or rendering 5k footage with this thing but if you wanna play Angry Birds, use Facebook or Skype with someone, it’ll be fine.  Here are the specs:

    • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    • Intel Core i3 Processor
    • 6GB DDR3 RAM
    • 15.6″ 16:9 HD LED Screen
    • 500 GB HDD
    • 2.6 kg (with 4 cell battery)
    Shipping is $4.99.

NewEgg Canada: ASUS VS Series 24″ Monitor Only $140 After Discount, Coupon & Rebate (Was $210)

NewEgg Canada: ASUS VS Series 24 Monitor Only $140 After Discount, Coupon & Rebate (Was $210)

A great new monitor and a great price from Asus and New Egg Canada!

Click here to get your new Asus monitor @ NewEgg.ca

    • Coupon Code: CAWKLY03251
    • Discount: $20 off
    • Expiry: Unknown

So the price is kind of hard to figure out here since some of them are applied after taxes but it’s more or less $209.99 – $30 instant discount – $20 coupon code – $20 mail-in rebate. That ends up being $140! This really is a good deal for a monitor like this. I took a look around at other retailers and I found that amazon.com (who is usually cheaper than Canadian retailers) is selling it for $170. So this is $30 cheaper than the  place that usually sells stuff for cheaper than we can get in Canada. Not too shabby, eh?

I haven’t had an Asus monitor but I’ve used them fairly extensively and I like them quite a bit. My tablet was an Asus and the screen in that was good too. On top of that, the rating on NewEgg Canada is 4/5 eggs, which is great when you realize that people tend to review items they dislike more than items they like.

Shipping is free. For more NewEgg Canada coupons, click here.

Amazon Canada: $50 Off Asus Transformer TF300T – Standalone or With Dock

Posted by on March 12, 2013 at 11:00 PM

Amazon Canada: $50 Off Asus Transformer TF300T Standalone or With Dock

A great sale from Amazon Canada and Asus this week. You get a great tablet at a great price! $50 savings on the tablet by itself of the tablet and keyboard/battery dock.

I owned the original Asus Transformer, the TF101, and the dock and it was quite literally one of the best products I’d ever used. I used it instead of a laptop for well over a year. Maybe over two years. I only sold it because I got a laptop but now I dearly miss my tablet.

If you’re at all interested in a tablet, I highly suggest this one. The tablet is great but the keyboard dock really makes it awesome. The dock has a keyboard and mouse that make it infinitely more useful for typing. I find the mouse pad less useful on a touch screen device but it’s there if you want it. I found on a few games it was easier to mouse than touch. Actually, that’s a good point. The arrow keys on the keyboard map properly to the controls on some games so those annoying on-screen controls, in some cases, go away.

The battery is the other aspect of the dock. It gives insane battery life. I’m talking like 16 hours on one charge. Now of course if you’re streaming HD video that 16 hour life is going to be far less but I could routinely go two days, with a fair amount of Netflix watching, on one charge. This really is one of the best mobile computing devices you can get today and the price is awesome.

NewEgg.ca: FREE shipping and $50 off Asus 21.5 Monitor + More Christmas Deals!

This is one of the highest rated monitors on NewEgg Canada and has one of the best prices around with this coupon code!

Click here to get your new Asus 21.5″ Monitor @ NewEgg.ca!

    • Coupon Code: CEMCJHNE55
    • Discount: $50 off Asus 21.5″ Monitor
    • Expiry: Unknown

Like I said in my little intro, this is one of the highest rated items on NewEgg Canada. About 02% of it’s ratings are 4/5 or above. Overall it has over a 4.5/5. The only real complaint I read was that it is a bit wobbly on the base but a reviewer said he got a note from Asus who advised him to tighten the screw on the bottom of the base in order to stop the wobble. Problem solved!

I thought this was a great review, especially for a Apple-hating curmudgeon like me!

This monitor has a seriously good image, going from my previous iMac to this is like going from being blind to 20/20 vision.

    But wait, there’s more!

NewEgg is having a great Christmas sale so even if you aren’t up for a new monitor, there are tons of other great deals!

Amazon.ca: Save $300 on an Asus 15.6″ Gaming Laptop (Save 18%!)

Amazon.ca: Save $300 on an Asus 15.6 Gaming Laptop (Save 18%!)

Gaming is an expensive hobby so Bargainmoose and Amazon Canada want to make it just a little bit cheaper!

Seriously. PC gaming is ridiculously expensive. Gaming on the go is even more expensive, it seems. There are gaming laptops out there that atop $4000 and they don’t go on sale too often. Even when you do find sales on them they usually aren’t the 20% off we’re seeing here.

This Asus gaming laptop is $1699 on Amazon but you’re going to save $300 making the final price $1399. Here are the main specs. You get free shipping but these are selling fast to it may be delayed while they get more in.

    • Intel Core i7-2670QM 2.2GHz
    • 16GB DDR3
    • 256GB SOLID STATE
    • Windows 7 Home
    • NVIDIA GTX 560M 3G@

Amazon has a lot of information on this computer so if you need to know anything else, check out the Amazon site! Maybe even get the gamer geek in your life to check it out and see if maybe it would be a good Christmas gift.

Acer Aspire Ultrabooks up to 26% off @ Amazon.ca

Acer Aspire Ultrabooks up to 26% off @ Amazon.ca

Aspire to buy an ultrabook. Aspire to save money.

These are three ultrabooks on sale:

As usual with Amazon, anything over $25 ships free.

I’m really interested in the ultrabook movement. Unlike the netbook craze of 2009, I feel like this one actually has some legs. Mainly in that it’s a full blown laptop that’s been stripped to make it slimmer. Unless you’re doing some heavy lifting like video editing or photo editing or some heavy gaming you probably don’t need anything beefier than one of these.

Acer is now a top brand (Usually #2 or #3, depending on which research company you listen to) in the PC world. They used to be a third tier manufacturer, way back in the day, but have proven themselves worthy.
