Fuji Instax 210 Instant Camera $59.99 & Free Shipping @ Amazon.ca

Fuji Instax 210 Instant Camera $59.99 & Free Shipping @ Amazon.ca

You probably have to be quick if you want to take advantage of this offer on Amazon.ca, it could sell out at any time. They are selling the Fuji Instax 210 Instant Camera at a $40 discount, now only $59.99 with free super saver shipping!

The original price of this camera was $99.99, it’s now $59.99 – that’s a great price.

You may think that from the photo above, it’s a pretty weird looking camera. Well, that’s what I thought! I actually thought it was a digital camera at first… but nope, it’s an instant!

Here’s a quick note about the Fuji camera:

With its automatically-adjusting flash, high-resolution retracting lens and a big, clear viewfinder, the Fujifilm Instax 210 captures and delivers vivid, high-quality prints in an instant. The compatible Instax Instant Color Film is professional grade and provides superior performance.

Obviously over the long-term, the film for this camera is going to be quite an expense… but if you really would like the “novelty” of taking a photo and seeing it printed out instantly, then it’s worth it for this price.

Price comparison wise, this is a superb price on Amazon. Most other Canadian online sites are offering this camera for around $100. I did find it for a similar price at MemoryExpress but shipping was a further $9, or more depending on where you live. As Amazon has free shipping, it’s the superior deal.

Amazon Canada: $15 Off PS4 DualShock 4 Controller – Now $50 (EXPIRED)

Posted by on August 10, 2014 at 4:00 PM

Amazon Canada: $15 Off PS4 DualShock 4 Controller Now $50 (EXPIRED)Need an extra PS4 remote? Amazon has the DualShock 4 controller on sale for just $49.99 (reg. $64.99).

It seems that when you need or want something, there are never any deals around, but as soon as you buy it at full price is when the discounts begin pouring in! Since I only recently bought the PlayStation 4, I also bought an extra remote at Costco, but since there were no deals to be had at that moment and hubby and I were excited to play the Lego Marvel Super Heroes game together, we bought it at its full price of $59.99. Speaking of which, it’s always at that price at Costco, but it’s currently sold out online. The Source has this remote for $64.99, while Future Shop and Best Buy have it for $65.89.

Amazon’s price reduction is definitely the best one all around and I doubt it will go down any lower than that any time soon. Even if you don’t have a PS4 yet, if are planning on buying one soon, then it might be a good idea to take advantage of this deal, especially since you won’t have to worry about any pesky shipping fees as Amazon ships orders over $25 for free.

Filled with AR Bots, which come to life in the PlayRoom, the PS4 remote differs greatly from its PS3 ancestor. On top of being easier and more comfortable to hold, it also features a built-in speaker in an effort to enhance video game-play. In fact, my hubby was playing InFamous: Second Son the other day with hardly any volume on the TV because our baby was sleeping in the same room, when all of a sudden, the remote emitted a loud swooshing noise. Luckily, it didn’t wake up the little one, but it’s still a neat feature to have — assuming there are no sleeping children in the same room!

In fact, the PS4 remote has been extremely well-received by the gaming community, with countless positive reviews like this one:

I received my DualShock 4 and immediately plugged it into my ps3 and my pc. It just feels great to use and makes me feel like Sony really did listen to fans when it comes to the new PlayStation.

Unfortunately the touch pad is just that: a touch pad, but it’s still a neat feature to have as you can use it to swipe and trigger specific features, depending on the game you’re playing. In the case of the AR Bots, you can use the touch pad to control them as you can see in Ali-A Youtube video, but keep in mind that the PlayStation 4 Eye Camera is needed for this and it’s sold separately.

Have you bought the PlayStation 4 yet? What do you think of the new remote?

Amazon Canada: 75% Off Emmy-Nominated Shows

Amazon Canada: 75% Off Emmy Nominated Shows

With summer soon coming to a close, you may wonder what you’ll be watching in the fall. I’m not a traditional TV watcher. I like to find shows that are known to be good and then watch a whole season in a week. If you are like me, you might want to check out this sale from Amazon, offering up to 73% off Emmy-nominated shows.

Nurse Jackie is a show I have watched and loved. It is about a drug-addicted nurse who manages to mostly keep it together despite challenge after challenge. It sounds dark, but it is actually quite funny. All of the seasons are represented in this sale starting from season 1 for $9.97 (regularly $26.99) up to season 5, which is $9.49 (was $29.97). It looks like a new season will be starting in 2015. I need to get caught up!

Mad Men is a show that I’ve heard about repeatedly, but have yet to watch. I can start with season 1 during this Amazon sale for only $9.88, with a regular price of $26.99. For those who may have already watched the show, you might want to get season 6 for your collection, and it is now only $12.49, was $46.99. What a steal!

Have you delved into the world of Girls yet? This is a phenomenal show that will have you laughing, crying and shouting at the TV. While I love Hannah, who is played by the incredibly talented Lena Dunham, I cannot stand two of the other main characters. I love Shoshanna and her quirky ways, but the other two are just way too spoiled for my liking on my television. Either way, it makes a great mix to watch on a Saturday night with all your girlfriends, especially because of some of the eye candy in the way of men. This show is a sort of Sex and the City of this decade. Season one will only cost you $18.49, with a regular price of $49.98.

As always, shipping will be free on a $25 order, so you might want to stock up on a few shows or a few seasons and save on that annoying fee.

Amazon Canada: $70 Off KidKraft Uptown Kitchen – Now $150 (Was $220)

Posted by on August 7, 2014 at 10:30 PM

Amazon Canada: $70 Off KidKraft Uptown Kitchen Now $150 (Was $220)

Amazon has a fantastic deal on the KidKraft uptown kitchen in an espresso colour. Originally priced at $219.99, it’s now on sale for just $149.99, which is a 30% discount.

Designed for kids aged three years and up, this is the perfect play-kitchen as it’s made of composite wood and features all of the basic kitchen appliances like a fridge, freezer, micro-wave, and it even has a dishwasher! Plus, all of these have doors that open and close. What I love about this kitchen set the most is that it’s very modern-looking and would certainly look good if placed in an adult kitchen. The fridge even features a chalkboard freezer, which you could use to list the weekly chores for your child. It could also be used as a recipe board for the week or just to draw on! Although previous sets would have included corded phones, this one even has a cordless one to complete the redesigned modern look!

Don’t be fooled by the picture of the girl either as this kitchen can most certainly be used universally by both girls and boys, even at once for those of you with multiple children.

According to the numerous positive reviews, assembly takes some time and it’s best to follow the instructions, but once it’s assembled, then it’s a major hit! In fact, here’s what one reviewer had to say about it:

The kitchen has been a real hit with the kids and it’s amazing when it’s all setup how ‘real’ it looks. It’s very sturdy the littlest one has really put the doors through the test and they have stood up to his slamming, reefing and tugging very well.

It als comes with a 90-day manufacturer guarantee in case of any production defects.

This is definitely the cheapest price you can expect to find this kitchen for as it’s $229.99 at Toys R Us and although it’s currently sold out at Walmart, it was priced at $170.99. If only adult kitchens were that cheap!

Even better is that you can get it shipped absolutely free with Amazon’s Super Saver shipping option. The shipping weight of this kitchen is actually 36kg and that’s definitely not a box I would want to pick up and have to bring home from the store! Better have it shipped straight to your door.

Amazon Canada: 30% Off Genji Sports Pop Up Family Beach Tent – Now $52

Posted by on August 5, 2014 at 6:00 PM

Amazon Canada: 30% Off Genji Sports Pop Up Family Beach Tent Now $52Amazon has a great deal on the Genji Sports pop up family beach tent and beach sunshelter. Get it for just $51.80, which is 30% off its original price of $74.

My baby is already three months and although summer is coming to an end, I have been wanting to relax in the yard with her but still have her shielded from the sun. The Genji sports pop up family beach tent is definitely a great compromise as although it’s not a full blown tent, it’s also an adult version of the many similar kids’ tents. Canadian Tire has the cool-looking Broadstone pop-up sun shelter but it’s more expensive at $69.99.

According to the description, it’s “self expanded in one second, folds down in 3 seconds” but judging by the couple of reviews, the first couple of times you fold/ unfold it may be challenging but I’m sure that once the technique has been mastered, then it’s a piece of cake from there. In fact, here’s what on reviewer had to say about it:

Really great size and functional. Perfect for older kids to change in and warm up. Great for babies to keep them out of the wind and sun. The first couple times folding it down was confusing but it’s easy now and super portable in he provided bag.

Large enough for 2 adults, 1 adult with kids or simply numerous kids, what’s great is that it can also be planted into the ground, which is a definite plus for those extra windy days. In either case, you wouldn’t want your child moving it anyway. Even better is that the canopy is also UV protected, though I would still apply sunscreen on my baby just in case. As with any other tent, this one also comes with a carrying case that has a shoulder strap to help keep your hands free to carry anything else you might need. This is definitely a great tent for the beach, as the picture shows, but I could see it being more versatile than that like for use in the backyard, camping, etc.

You also won’t have to worry about any additional fees as this tent qualifies for free shipping since Amazon ships most orders over $25 for free.

Amazon Canada: 30% Off Melissa & Doug Art Supplies

Posted by on August 4, 2014 at 7:30 PM

Amazon Canada: 30% Off Melissa & Doug Art Supplies

If you are looking for back to school supplies or for some art supplies for your child, then you’ve come to the right place. I absolutely love Melissa and Doug art supplies and Amazon has them on for 30% off.

I can’t count the number of art items I have from the brand Melissa and Doug. I love the uniqueness of their sets and find everything really high quality. I find new art supplies is a great way to get kids excited about having to go back to school. I’m also looking for fun kits as things for my kids to do when they are camping or at the cottage. I like to have my quiet time reading while they have their quiet time making art.

Remember paint by number? How about the less messy sticker by number? Get the Melissa and Doug Peel and Press Sticker by Number flower garden fairy for only $7.36, with a regular price of $9.99.

While the sale says 30% off, some items are even more than that off the regular price. This Melissa and Doug portable light box is really cool, and looks perfect for using while on a road trip. It has a little portable desk, that fits perfectly in your child’s lap. It was $19.99, now $11.71.

If you are looking for something to do at a princess or other little girl party, you can’t beat paying only $3.99 for them to make this princess doll and take it home as a favour. It is an all-in-one kit, so you really just hand it to them and let them work their own magic. It has a regular price of $8.99, but paying the $4 price is perfect for 10 kids at a party.

My boys have done a Melissa and Doug paintable figurine and this dinosaur figurine kit is one they’d love to do. I like these because they are cute to display on a shelf after all their hard work is done. I don’t find ours ever looks like the picture on the box, but I love letting my kids be creative, messy and have fun when doing art, rather than be perfect. This item was $10.99, now only $6.39.

Shipping is free from Amazon once you’ve spent over $25 and since these items are all less than that, you’ll want to get a few to help save those costs. Twisting your rubber arm, aren’t I?

Amazon Canada: 73% Off Alien – Predator: Total Destruction DVD Collection – Now $21.50 (EXPIRED)

Posted by on August 3, 2014 at 8:30 PM

Amazon Canada: 73% Off Alien Predator: Total Destruction DVD Collection Now $21.50 (EXPIRED)

They mostly come out at night, mostly… good deals that is, not aliens! Amazon has discounted the Alien – Predator Total Destruction Collection down to just $21.49. It was originally priced at $79.98, so that puts it at a 73% discount!

Even though it was released in 2008, this collection is definitely a must-have for any of you sci-fi and action movie lovers, especially since it includes the following 8 discs:

  • Alien
  • Aliens (long version)
  • Alien 3
  • Alien Resurrection
  • Predator
  • Predator II
  • Alien vs. Predator (unrated)
  • Alien vs. Predator 2: Requiem (unrated)

It also features a number of happy reviews like this one:

This collection is a great deal and is completely worth it, all 8 discs are instant classics and any collector who loves older and newer movies will love it. It was very addictive and I couldn’t stop watching it. The discs were in great condition and the definition was great. This franchise was one of the greatest ever written and this collection really captured its amazing story-line. I 100% recommend this pack to any classic movie lover.

This is also a great deal for all of you French-speaking Canadian as the collection is bilingual. In fact, did you know that the movie Prometheus, which came out in 2012, is actually a prequel to the Alien franchise? I actually had no idea but discovered this little fact by looking up the movies. Prometheus is currently on sale as well. You can DVD and Blu-Ray versions for as low as $7. Plus, if you’re willing to shell out a little more, the Prometheus to Alien: The Evolution collection is on sale for $59.99 (reg. $215.69).

The only hitch is that you will be missing just a couple of dollars to have this collection shipped for free as Amazon only ships orders over $25 for free, so be sure to check out the deals section for more products to save on. In fact, there are a number of DVDs for $6.99 or less like Inception for just $3.94 (reg. $18.70). For those of you with kids, I suggest you sort those movies by cheapest first and then check out the first couple of pages as there are a number of kids’ movies for less than $5. For example, both Barbie: The Princess and the Pauper and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs are $3.94 (reg. $9.99).

(PS4 & Xbox One) Pre-Order Batman: Arkham Knight For Just $57 + Free Shipping @ Amazon.ca

Posted by on August 1, 2014 at 9:00 PM

(PS4 & Xbox One) Pre Order Batman: Arkham Knight For Just $57 + Free Shipping @ Amazon.ca

The dawn is coming and luckily, you can save a couple of bucks before it does. Batman: Arkham Knight is coming out in 2015 and for a limited time, you can pre-order it for just $56.99 at Amazon for either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Its regular retail price is of $69.99, which put this deal at a 19% discount. Plus, since Amazon offers free shipping to most orders over $25, you are also sure to get your game shipped at no additional cost!

One of the trendiest quotes in the online community right now is: “Always be yourself! Unless you can be Batman, then always be Batman”. I couldn’t agree with it more, and what better way to be Batman than by playing this iconic character on either PlayStation 4 or the Xbox One?

Keep in mind that although Amazon is displaying an October 2014 release for this game, this is inaccurate. Rocksteady’s marketing game manager recently released a statement saying that the release date has been pushed back to 2015, though he hasn’t specified when exactly, due to the fact that they want to make sure that the game is absolutely perfect. In fact, his exact words were: “we just want to make this the best experience that we can, and that takes time”, as published on Gamespot. Definitely can’t argue with that, though I’m sure all of you Batman fans are eagerly awaiting its release!

Given that the last Batman to be released on PlayStation, Batman: Arkham City, was a major success, I have no doubts that the upcoming one will be just as awesome, especially since it will be tailored to the new video game consoles. I haven’t tried Xbox One yet but I have recently invested in a PlayStation 4 and I must say that it is all it’s cracked up to be. The graphics are absolutely phenomenal and I’m definitely looking forward to giving the new Batman a whirl, simply to see the level of details that will be injected into the game. In fact, here’s a review I found on Arkham City on Amazon:

This game is by far the best game I have ever played I definitely recommend this game if you are a batman fan!!!

Have you played any of the previous Batman games? What are your thoughts on them?

Amazon Canada: 47% Off Black & Decker 20V Drill – Just $52

Posted by on July 31, 2014 at 6:00 PM

Amazon Canada: 47% Off Black & Decker 20V Drill Just $52

Ready, set, drill away with Amazon’s awesome deal: get the Black & Decker SSL20SC 20V drill for just $52.56, which is 47% off its original price of $99.99. Plus, since Amazon typically ships orders over $25 for free, you will get this drill without any additional shipping charges.

When it comes to drills, Black & Decker are definitely one of the most popular ones out there because of their durability and power. This one features a lithium-ion battery, which means that you can charge it once and then leave it lying around anywhere else (or better yet, stowed away in the closet) until the next time you need it without worrying that the battery will lose its charge from not being used. In fact, according to Amazon’s description, the battery can hold a charge up to 18 months, which is pretty incredible!

It also has a slew of great reviews like this one:

Received this drill as scheduled. It has good balance, easy to control and very versatile. It has lots of power when needed and the preset torque settings are quite accurate (they are indicated by screw and bit size in pictures, rather than just numbered settings). 20 volts is a nice number for power and the lithium ion battery is small, light and installed easily.

At 20 volts, it’s also one of the highest voltages you can get on a drill. I had a look on Home Depot’s website and the only other cordless I found for close to the same price as Amazon’s deal is the Ryobi 18V, and although it comes with the drill kit, it has less voltage than the Black & Decker one. I have also been told that going with lesser known brands when it comes to cordless drills isn’t recommended at all. Although it depends on everyone’s preferences, Dewalt tends to be the most favoured because of its power but if you only plan on doing odd fixing jobs around the house here and there, then this Black & Decker drill is sure to fit the bill.

In fact, a friend of mine used his Black & Decker one on a regular basis and after more than ten years, it still continues to serve him well. The only other 20V I found at Home Depot is the Makita cordless compact drill, currently on sale for $169 (reg. $199).

This drill can go back to its original price at any time as no expiry has been given for it, so be sure to take advantage of it ASAP if you’re in need of a drill.

(PS4) Killzone: Shadow Fall Just $20 @ Amazon.ca (Hot!)

Posted by on July 28, 2014 at 7:45 PM

(PS4) Killzone: Shadow Fall Just $20 @ Amazon.ca (Hot!)

Hurry on over to Amazon because while supplies last (or whenever they decide to end the promotion), you can get Killzone: Shadowfall for just $19.94, which is 67% off the original price!

Considering that this is a PlayStation 4 game and one that was released relatively recently (November 15th 2014), this is an incredible deal. Price comparing this deal, the cheapest I have found it anywhere else is at Best Buy and Future Shop, where it’s on sale for $29.99.

Killzone: Shadow Fall is very similar to Call of Duty in that it is a first-person shooter game but it differs in the story line as it focuses on the missions of Lucas Kellan, a “Shadow Marshall” who finds himself in the middle of war. The game can also be played either as single-player or multi-player with others online.

Reviews for this game are also generally favourable, with GameSpot rating it 7 out of 10. In fact, here’s what GameSpot’s Kevin VanOrd had to say about it:

As much as I enjoyed my online time with Killzone: Shadow Fall–and as much as I will enjoy lots more time with it, unlocking perks that allow me to personalize my weapons–I missed Killzone 3′s jump pack, which brought a nifty nimbleness to the battlegrounds.

The only hitch is that you will need to shop for over $25 in order to have your order qualify for free shipping but that shouldn’t be too hard as you will need just $5 worth of merchandise. Amazon’s deals store is a great place to find good discounts. You could, for instance, get a number of DVDs for $6.99 or less, such as Rise of the Planet of the Apes for $6.99 (reg. $16.98), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 for $6.88 (reg. $24.95), Rio for $4.88 (reg. $21.98) and the list goes on and on.

If you have yet to upgrade to a PlayStation 4, then now may be a good time to do so, especially since Walmart’s PlayStation 4 deal that I wrote about a couple of days ago is still on. For a limited time, when you get the PlayStation 4 console at Walmart, you will also receive a $50 gift card for free. I just upgraded to the fourth generation console last week and I must admit that it was totally worth it. Yes it’s expensive, but the graphics are crisp and the level of details makes even paying as high as $70 for a game (usual price) totally worth it.

Amazon Canada Coupon: Get Free Phil & Ted’s Bassinet With Stroller Purchase

Amazon Canada Coupon: Get Free Phil & Teds Bassinet With Stroller Purchase

If you have a little one or maybe a bundle of joy on the way, you will want to check out this new coupon code from Amazon Canada. Purchase a Phil & Ted’s mountain edition stroller, and you will get a Phil & Ted’s bassinet for free!

Click here to get this deal @ Amazon.ca now

  • Coupon Code: PATBUGGYC
  • Discount: Free Bassinet
  • Expiry: Unknown

Phil & Ted’s are one of the best brand names out there when it comes to strollers and accessories.  I was dying to have one when I was pregnant after I had done some research, but it just wasn’t in the cards for us at the time. They are durable, lightweight, very well made and easy to use.

Not only will you save with the coupon code, the stroller is actually already on sale right now.  The regular price is $549.99 and it is on sale for $531.94.  To take advantage of this deal, you will need to add both the stroller and the buggy (from the link above) to your cart first.  Then enter the coupon code and the price for the buggy bassinet will end up being free.  Without this coupon, you would be spending the regular price of $186.99 to purchase the buggy bassinet.

I love the look of the buggy bassinet on a stroller for when your baby is just little.  It turns your stroller into a beautiful pram easily, which is also very trendy and stylish right now. Another bonus to it is that with a bassinet, you can get out and about without disturbing your baby’s sleep. For anyone that has kids, you know what a huge deal this can be!

I wanted to make sure this was a great deal so I did some price comparisons.  This stroller was at Toys R Us for $499.99 but you would need to pay $33 for the cost of shipping and you would not be getting the buggy bassinet with it. At the actual Phil & Ted’s store, it was also $499.99 but again, the shipping was extra at a price of $20 and you would not be getting the buggy bassinet.  In all, the deal at Amazon which includes the free shipping and the Bassinet worth $186.99 was the best deal by far.

As a nice little bonus, both of these items will get free shipping as well. Most stores would be charging you an arm and a leg for the cost of shipping because of the size of these two products.

This Amazon Canada coupon, along with a few others can be found posted on the Bargainmoose coupon forum.

Amazon Canada: 67% Off Petmate Pet Carrier – Now $27.69

Posted by on July 23, 2014 at 11:00 PM

Amazon Canada: 67% Off Petmate Pet Carrier Now $27.69

Amazon Canada is selling the Petmate Curvations Top Load 19 inch pet carrier for $27.69, originally $82.49.

The pet carrier has both a top zippered mesh door and a metal front door, which allows easy entry or exit for your pets from whichever angle. While small dogs might prefer the front door, I know many cats (like mine) are not keen on going through that door into a dark cave. Some cats would prefer to just be placed in the carrier through the top. This gives you the option of either. It also makes your pet easily accessible at all times. The design has lots of small side holes for ventilation and viewing. In addition, the top mesh provides extra ventilation for your pet. The carrier features a solid plastic base for strength and stability with a steel front door and secure latch. The top half is softer, almost fabric-like according to one reviewer, but still holds its shape well. To this top is secured the zippered top opening and an adjustable padded shoulder strap for transporting.

For anyone who cares about esthetics, this carrier is also rather nice looking. The fabric-like material has a very pretty black and white pattern on it that certainly looks better than any carrier I have ever owned. The carrier assembles via nuts and bolts, so I suggest having a couple tools handy to make assembly easier (tools not necessary but helpful). Just be careful not to over-tighten the bolts or you risk cracking the plastic.

Most reviewers are super happy with their purchase. One reviewer said:

Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this carrier! It met all my needs, was not too expensive, and it’s cute! Can’t ask for more!

While some reviewers have found it difficult to assemble, another reviewer commented that:

I just purchased this carrier from petco for $31.00. It was easy to assemble. However the wingnuts did give my fingers a workout but wasn’t a problem for me, just adding it as a side note.

Since you will only have to assemble the pet carrier once, the finger workout should not be a deterrent. The carrier is very attractive, appears to be well built, and has that extra convenient feature of a second door. As the carrier costs over $25, it will ship for free to your house from Amazon Canada.

Amazon.ca: $76 Tassimo Coffee Maker T47 (was $150) + Free Shipping

Posted by on July 21, 2014 at 12:30 PM

Amazon.ca: $76 Tassimo Coffee Maker T47 (was $150) + Free Shipping

As I sipped my lovely home-brewed, single serve coffee this morning, I found this great deal on the Tassimo T47 Coffee Maker:  50% off at $75.43 at Amazon.ca (reg.  $149.99)!

I love my Tassimo.  I am fully incapable of brewing traditional coffee.  Honestly, I don’t know what my issue is, but when I try to brew coffee, I either end up with it way too strong, way too weak, or with coffee grounds in my cup and all over my counter.  I absolutely love the convenience of just popping the little T-Disc into the machine, placing my cup, and pushing the button.  Not to mention that most weekdays the adults in my house are each only drinking one cup before we head out for the day, so I feel like it’s more logical to use two pods, allowing us each to choose our own flavour and having a hot cup of coffee at different times versus brewing a pot that I’m probably going to mess up anyways.

I really appreciate that the Tassimo T47 offers automatic cleaning and descaling, and that it brews coffee in approximately one minute.  Mornings are when I’m at my least patient, especially when it comes to getting my caffeine fix, so speed is of the essence.  Tassimo does all the thinking for you in those groggy morning hours by reading the barcode on the T-Disc, brewing the perfect cup every time.  I especially love trying lots of different coffee flavours, which the Tassimo allows me to do easily.

Price Comparison

I checked out a whole bunch of competitors on this one.  Amazon’s offer is a real steal.  Check them out for yourself if you’d like.

Amazon.ca has sales on other Tassimo models if the T47 isn’t right for you.  You can check out the Tassimo T20 for $69.99 (reg. $169.99) or the Tassimo T55 for $109.99 (reg. $229.99).  I also really enjoy that you can purchase a Tassimo Espresso, Coffee, Cappuccino, and Tea Variety Pack ($43.99) with 48 T-Discs to let you sample a bunch of flavours without having to buy a whole package of any one flavour.

Shipping

Your order will ship free from Amazon.ca.

Amazon.ca: $145 Seagate Expansion 4TB Desktop External Hard Drive + Free Shipping

I am always filling up my hard drive with photos and downloads.  Not any more with this deal from Amazon.ca:  Seagate Expansion 4TB Desktop External Hard Drive USB 3.0 on sale for only $145.98 (Reg. $397.99)!

Let’s talk about user friendliness.  This external hard drive is automatically recognized by Windows, so there is no software installation required.   It is as easy as opening the box, plugging in two cords, and you’re running.  I am fully computer literate, but I do sometimes have a hard time installing hardware.  The ease of installing this device really appeals to me.  It’s really just plug and play.

As Amazon.ca’s #1 best seller in external hard drives, Seagate’s model offers a 4TB capacity.  Again, hardware isn’t my thing, so I didn’t really have a great concept of what that meant in layman’s terms.  Here is an example of the type of storage capacity we’re talking about:

  • Up to 3000 hours of digital video
  • Up to 750 2 hour DVD movies
  • Up to 960 000 digital photos
  • Up to 49 980 hours of digital music

I think it’s possible that even I would have a hard time filling up that bad boy.  Compatible operating systems are Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP SP3 (32-bit and 64-bit).

Now I live out in the middle of nowhere.  I had no choice but to get wireless internet, and the reception within my house is spotty at best.  I’m often isolated in the office with my laptop, but often my family wants to watch a downloaded movie in the living room or bedroom, which involves a lot of work getting said movie from my computer to another device.  With an external hard drive, I would literally be able to unplug the 2 cords from one computer and pop them into another for a smooth transfer.  Easy peasy.  The unit is also compact in size, making for easy storage.

As far as comparison is concerned, I found the same external hard drive over tigerdirect.ca for $164.97.  Both Best Buy and Future Shop are selling the unit for $169.99.  On top of the low price, since this item is over $25, you automatically qualify for free super saver shipping at Amazon.ca.

We don’t know when this deal ends, so act fast!

Amazon Student: 6-Months of Free 2-Day Shipping

Amazon Student: 6 Months of Free 2 Day Shipping

Amazon finally has brought the Amazon Student program to Canada. Students can sign up with a valid student email address to get FREE Two-Day Shipping with Amazon Prime on eligible purchases (with no minimum required) for six months and e-mail alerts for discounts and promotions.

After the six months of free two-day shipping from Amazon Canada, your Student Prime account will automatically renew unless you choose to unsubscribe. However, instead of paying the full price of $79 per year, students will only pay $39 per year for Amazon Prime. However, once you graduate (or at the end of four years), your subscription will automatically renew to the full prime cost of $79 unless you choose to unsubscribe. To sign up for your free six-months of Amazon Student Prime, you will need to:

  • have an Amazon Canada account
  • be a college, university or CEGEP student enrolled in at least one course
  • be able to provide proof of enrollment if requested
  • have a valid college, university, or CEGEP email address (and access to that account)

I am officially still a student, as I do not graduate until November, so I signed up for this offer with my student email address. It was very simple. I just needed to have access to my email address to confirm my subscription. I actually have my student email forwarded to my regular email address and I was able to confirm my account by clicking through the link in the forwarded email.

This offer is available across the country, but it is done slightly different for residents of Quebec. If you are schooling in Quebec, you can sign up for Amazon Student and you will receive an 18-month membership with the first 6 months at no charge. They will not bill your credit card until the first six months are over, and you can cancel at any time.

For students, this is thrilling. I have purchased many of my textbooks on Amazon.ca in the past when two-day shipping would have been super handy. I also love books, my husband loves movies, and together we place a purchase or two at Amazon.ca about once or twice a month. Two-day shipping is certainly going to lessen the time we have to wait between ordering and receiving. I just need to mark down in my calendar what date I should be cancelling my subscription so it does not auto-renew.
