Amazon Canada: Superman The Animated Series Complete Series Collection On DVD | Was $63 Now $19

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Superman! Good morning, my fellow Bargainmoosers! Today’s deal at Amazon is for Superman The Animated Series: Complete Series Collection on DVD, which normally costs $62.48. Now, you can score this awesome DVD set for only $18.99 (plus $1.99 shipping). Now that’s what I call a deal! You’ll qualify for free shipping if you spend at least $25 on Amazon, so if there’s anything else you want to pick up from this popular online retailer, do it up so you could save on the shipping cost.

The Superman The Animated Series: Complete Series Collection on DVD comes with 7 discs in total – that’s a lot of content! You’ll be popping these DVDs into your DVD player, Blu-Ray player, or video game system for many days to enjoy these classic animated Superman episodes! I enjoyed this series when I was a kid, and I think that you’ll still be able to have some fun watching these cartoons.

If you have a child that loves super heroes, you can’t go wrong with a Superman cartoon. Back when I was a young child, I used to find the original Christopher Reeve-headlined Superman movies on TV on a regular basis, so I would usually watch them. Sure, I may not have known what was going on at the time (besides the fact that Superman was a good guy, and Lex Luthor was a bad guy), but I still have fond memories of watching them.

If you wanted to buy this Superman The Animated Series: Complete Series Collection on DVD at an American WalMart location, it would cost you $38.79 US. I’ve included a brief review of this series from a satisfied Amazon customer below:

I remember this show when it came out in the mid 90s, and I enjoyed it back then. Now I hope my kid will enjoy it as much as I did.

Happy hunting, Bargainmoosers!

Amazon Canada: Pack of 6 Band-Aids Only $8/ Was $24 (Expired)

Posted by on November 19, 2014 at 8:15 AM

Amazon Canada: Pack of 6 Band Aids Only $8/ Was $24 (Expired)

Amazon has a great deal on Band-Aids if you want to stock up! Get a pack of six boxes of 20 Band-Aids each in the Cars style for only $8.30, with a regular price of $23.94.

If there is one thing you need to stock up on in a house full of boys, it is Band-Aids. My kids are always getting hurt. I swear there is so much blood on the sidewalk in front of my house, we could start a blood bank. My boys are always tripping over their own feet, tripping each other and tripping over all the toys they leave everywhere. On an average week, we have about 4 skinned knees in this house. This doesn’t include my husband or I, who also trip on the kids and their toys, but we just break things (like toes), as my husband did last week tripping on a toy.

While I’m all about simpleness, the Cars bandages would go over well in my house as my kids like to have pictures on their Band-Aids. Something about Mater that makes their tears turn into a smile. You don’t just have to use these as cut covers either. Band-Aids are great for crafts too. In fact, when I was a kid, I had Band-Aids in my sticker book.

I found a 20-pack of Cars bandages at Well.ca for $4.99 and at Walmart for $3.82. Basically, the price you’d pay for two boxes at this store, you’ll get six from Amazon.

If you need a review:

These bandaids are thick and are a great quality. My kids want to put them on every little scratch though so going through them rather quickly.

This might just motivate you to know that you need a package of 120 Band-Aids. In fact, with free shipping over $25, you might want to buy three or four packages to get those fees dropped. What could you do with 360 Band-Aids? I’m sure your kids would know!

Amazon Canada: Brother Handheld Label Maker Only $16/ Was $40 (Expired)

Amazon Canada: Brother Handheld Label Maker Only $16/ Was $40 (Expired)

This “lightning deal” won’t last. Fifty percent have already been claimed and there are nine hours left in the deal. Get the Brother Easy Handheld Label Maker for only $15.99, with a regular price of $39.99.

A label maker is a must-have in an organized household. I wouldn’t say I have an organized house, but my label maker has made it easier to be organized. I actually have this exact model and paid over $30 for it at Costco, so I can vouch that this is an amazing deal.

If you don’t believe me, check out the prices at Brother ($39.99), Staples ($39.92), 123Ink Cartridges ($34.99) and NewEgg where it is out of stock. Need more convincing? I doubt it.

I use my label maker on a regular basis. I’ve labelled all of my craft drawers, the kid’s cubbies in the front hall, their homework cubbies, their clothing, their water bottles, file folders and I’m not even done organizing yet. Winter is here with a wild force and I know I won’t be stepping foot outside so now is the time to organize! I also plan on labelling all of the Christmas boxes as I put them back to make it so much easier next year when getting them out. Instead of just seeing the label “Christmas” I might actually know what exactly is in each box.

I also let my kids use the label maker to label their stuff, although I do it under my supervision as they’ll use all the tape.

Read the reviews for the perks and downfalls of this machine, but here is one that summed it up:

Bought it for back to school did the job great does little graphics also the kids loved it

Shipping is free once you’ve spend $25, so you might want to get yourself some tapes or something else that would get you past this threshold and save you those annoying shipping fees on such a great deal.

Amazon Canada: Transformers The Complete Original Series On DVD | Was $100 Now $32

Posted by on November 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM

Amazon Canada: Transformers The Complete Original Series On DVD | Was $100 Now $32

Good afternoon, my fellow Bargainmoosers! Amazon is currently having another great sale today, and it’s a part of their countdown to Black Friday promotion. For one day only, you can order Transformers: The Complete Original Series on DVD for only $31.49! This DVD set normally retails for $99.99, so this is a very nice deal! You’ll also qualify for free shipping, which is always a nice bonus! So get out your Optimus Prime pajamas, make yourself a few Bologna sandwiches, get some fruit juice, and get ready for the ultimate flashback to the 80’s with this awesome Transformers: The Complete Original Series on DVD set!

Transformers is a franchise that has really exploded in popularity, thanks to the Michael Bay films that shattered many records since their arrival in cinemas in 2007. Today, they’re still extremely popular (Mark Wahlberg starred in the latest film, which you can buy on Blu-Ray, DVD, or even 3D Blu-Ray).

This Transformers: The Complete Original Series on DVD set chronicles the classic cartoon of this popular franchise. My older brother absolutely loved Transformers (and even its cheap knock-off, Go Bots). He kept some of his old Transformers toys, and even though they weren’t as popular in 1993, that’s when I ended up getting a new Transformers toy from the store. At that time, the cartoon was long gone, and all I knew about Transformers (besides what my brother would tell me) was that they had some cool toy commercials.

If you were to buy this Transformers: The Complete Original Series on DVD set from Shout Factory, it would cost you $63.98. It’s getting tough to find this DVD box set! I’ve included a brief review of this set from a satisfied Amazon customer below:

Daughter & I watch 2 episodes every night. Brings back tons of memories. Very good price, very good product. I would recomend this product to any Transformers fans

Amazon Canada: Seinfeld Complete Series Only $50/ Was $150

Posted by on November 17, 2014 at 11:30 AM

Amazon Canada: Seinfeld Complete Series Only $50/ Was $150

Retro TV shows are the best. Retro TV box sets are even better. The Seinfeld: Complete Box Set is on sale for $49.99 down from $149.99 on Amazon.ca and with free shipping.

Here is another great gift for the hard to buy for person on your list – years worth of laughs from a comedy legend like Seinfeld. The series is worth buying on DVD since you can watch your favorite episodes instead of whatever is available on a given day on TV. You can also lend discs to friends and family.

The 180 episodes of Seinfeld are not available on Netflix as of yet or any other free streaming media. Even if there is a deal for it to come to Netflix or similar they may not make all of the episodes available all of the time. The DVD box set also has a few extras like bloopers and deleted scenes, which will appeal to die-hard fans of the series. It also comes with subtitles in several languages for the hearing impaired.

There are lots of positive reviews to choose from on Amazon.ca and very few negative. There are 53 reviews of this product and there is one low review of 3 stars. The 3 star rating was only because the buyer switched the menu to Spanish and was unsure of how to change it back.

One reviewer had this to say :

Great series, great price. Seinfeld is a show you can watch over and over again. I’m constantly referencing real life situations to specific episodes. The ensemble cast was perfect and the ‘show about nothing’ covered such a wide swath of situations not normally seen on sitcom tv. The box set is wonderfully packaged in a compact and easy to access format. Looking forward to getting through all the extra material on the dvds. Highly recommended buy!

With savings like this it is an easy option to give the 90s tv fan in your life the gift of watching their favorite show about “nothing” this season.

Fringe: The Complete Series Blu-ray Was $212 | Now $69 @ Amazon.ca!

Posted by on November 16, 2014 at 11:30 AM

Fringe: The Complete Series Blu ray Was $212 | Now $69 @ Amazon.ca!

Even though I posted this great Xbox One bundle deal from Amazon.ca earlier, I found another hot deal on Amazon which I just have to share! If you’re a fan of the TV show Fringe, you can pick up the complete five season blu-ray box set for a great price. Originally $212, it’s now only $69.49 with free shipping!

The price for this TV show elsewhere online is significantly higher. It’s $159 @ Best Buy, $159 @ Future Shop, $202 @ Archambault, $148 @ Chapters. It’s not available at many places, but as you can see, the price from Amazon is superb.

Some people are of the school of thought that buying hard copies of such TV shows is pointless now that streaming services are so prolific. But, even though there is a choice of streaming services, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the shows you want will be available on there. This show IS available on Netflix if you want to check it out before buying. But if you buy the lovely box set, then you will have it at your beck and call, FOREVER!

For me personally, I love owning some box sets of select TV shows which I thought were amazing. I think that The Fringe is one of those on my top list of great TV shows, I just haven’t bought it yet. As a teenager, the X-Files was my FAVOURITE SHOW EVER and The Fringe reminded me of it quite a bit. Some of the storylines were very similar. E.g. spontaneous human combustion, telekinesis & more. And all the running round in the dark with torches? How Mulder and Scully is that?

The Fringe scores 8.5/10 on IMDB which is a really high rating. If you’ve never seen The Fringe and you like this type of fun, sci-fi/paranormal, witty show, then this could be a good choice for you.

Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Bundle $399 @ Amazon.ca & FREE Forza Horizon 2 Game TODAY ONLY (EXPIRED)

Posted by on November 16, 2014 at 6:59 AM

Xbox One Assassins Creed Bundle $399 @ Amazon.ca & FREE Forza Horizon 2 Game TODAY ONLY (EXPIRED)

If you’ve been thinking of jumping into the console waters and buying one for yourself or your family, today could be a good opportunity to do so. In the Black Friday countdown on Amazon.ca, there’s a pretty sweet deal on an Xbox One bundle. You can get the bundle which comes with Assassin’s Creed Unity, for only $399. That’s a standard price, but for today only, they’re also throwing in a free digital copy of the video game, Forza Horizon 2.

To get your free copy of Forza Horizon 2, you just need to buy an Xbox One bundle, without Kinect. There are a few terms here if you want to scan through them. They say:

A promotion code for the game will be delivered to you via email within 2 business days of purchase.

I’ve done a bit of research to show you the how the price matches up with the competition. Everywhere else that I can see online, they’re offering the same Assassin’s Creed Unity Xbox One bundle for $400, such as at Microsoft, Future Shop and Best Buy. The price rises when the bundle includes Kinect, such as $580 @ Costco. So, the base price at Amazon.ca meets the pricing standards elsewhere. But the bonus here is the FREE Forza Horizon 2.

I know it’s difficult to compare the cost of digital video games with hard copies, but I’m going to do that just to show you the value of the Forza Horizon 2 that comes with the Xbox One bundle. The game is $54 on Amazon, $65 from Bestbuy, $65 from Futureshop, $65 from Costco, $65 from Walmart, $65 from The Microsoft Store. So as you can see, it’s a top-tier game, commonly around $50 to $70 and you’re getting it free today from Amazon.

On the Amazon sale page, it also says this:

Get a 12-month Xbox Live membership for $44.99 ($15 in savings) with the purchase of a qualifying Xbox One or Xbox 360 console. Here’s how.

The above offer could be worth adding to your purchase as well.

I know that some of the Moosers are gamers and might be interested in this package. However, there are also some mom and dad Moosers who are looking for pressies like this for their older kids, so this could be a good time to buy.

Amazon Canada: 69% off Bond 50 (Now $90) (EXPIRED)

Posted by on November 14, 2014 at 9:00 AM

Amazon Canada: 69% off Bond 50 (Now $90) (EXPIRED)

Today only, get 70% off the entire collection of Bond movies! Get the Bond 50 for only $89.99, with a regular price of $299.99 and it will ship for free too. This will make a fantastic gift for any movie buff or Bond lover.

I’ve actually never watched a Bond movie in my life, but this deal is too good to pass up. My husband is the type to love a movie and watch it repeatedly, rather than try his luck with other movies. If I bought him this collection, I’m sure I’d never see the end of end of it, but it sounds intriguing, and I bet I’d love it too. 101 customer reviews that give it almost 5 overall stars can’t be wrong.

What you get for $90:

  • 23 films on Blu-Ray
  • 120 hours of extras

You’ll get all of the Bond movies in this collection from Dr. No to Skyfall, which is the latest. Apparently there is one Bond movie missing, which is never included in any boxset (Never Say Never Again). This is truly hours and hours of watching. I would be very interested in seeing how the Bond men change over time.

Reviewers site how the quality of the movies is greatly improved on the Blu-ray versions, although the packaging is not very nice.

I was a little worried as I had read about issues with the books falling apart, but so far there have been no problems! The movies look amazing, and there are a good amount of special features. I’d recommend this for any bond fan who doesn’t yet own all of the movies.

Just to give you a price comparison, Best Buy has it on for $109 as a special price, but with only a few copies left in stock.

I have a feeling this deal with sell out quickly, so if you want it, don’t hesitate. It is also on today only, so you’ve got 18 hours left to get it even if it doesn’t sell out.

Amazon Canada: Rocky Heavyweight Collection On Blu Ray | Was $70 Now $21

Yo, Adrian, I did it – I found a great deal! The countdown to Black Friday continues on Amazon, since they currently have a really appealing discount on their Rocky Heavyweight Collection on Blu-Ray today, and it’s sure to make any fans of these action-packed Sylvestor Stallone classics very happy – especially if it’s a gift during the holiday season! This set of Rocky movies normally sells for $69.99, but you can now purchase the Rocky Heavyweight Collection on Blu-Ray for just $20.49 (plus $1.99 shipping). If you spend a minimum of $25 on Amazon, you’ll qualify for free shipping. Quantities are limited, so you’ll want to act fast and get this set as soon as you can!

The Rocky Heavyweight Collection on Blu-Ray is quite the set – it includes all 6 Rocky movies on Blu-Ray, and an extra disc that’s packed with special features. So you’re getting 7 Blu-Ray discs in total for $20.49! Plus, how could you not love the Rocky movies? Sure, many may think that they’re cheesy, but some entries in this series are really good – especially the first Rocky and Rocky Balboa (the 6th movie that was released in 2006).

Personally, even though most people that didn’t view it as a child won’t enjoy it as much as those who did, I really loved Rocky III (they loved using Roman numerals to promote the Rocky movies). With Mr. T playing Clubber Lang and Hulk Hogan making an appearance as Thunderlips, it was a really fun action movie to watch! It was actually the first Rocky movie I’ve ever watched, and I still love the elaborate boxing scenes in that movie.

This Rocky Heavyweight Collection on Blu-Ray is currently on sale at WalMart for $30. I’ve included a brief review of this set from a satisfied Amazon customer below:

Excellent box set – love the movies, and love the packaging. I would suggest this box set as a gift any day.

If you want to pick up a great gift that’s affordable and fun, then you should consider getting this set. You can check out the other Amazon Black Friday deals by clicking here. Check out our Black Friday dashboard to see other deals as they arrive! Happy hunting, Bargainmoosers!

Amazon Canada: Sonax Headboard Clearance Now $34 – $51

Posted by on November 10, 2014 at 7:00 PM

Amazon Canada: Sonax Headboard Clearance Now $34 $51

Amazon Canada has two headboards on clearance price. Purchase a twin size headboard for just $33.97 or a queen size headboard for just $50.97. While I rather doubt the original prices listed, these prices are substantially less than the lowest price for headboards at other retailers.

The single headboard is white while the queen headboard is black. I was very pleased to be able to price compare the queen headboard with a few other retailers.

  • $149.94 @ Staples Canada
  • $149 @ Newegg Canada (OOS)
  • $59.97 @ Best Buy & Future Shop

As this is an older model headboard, most of the places I found it were out of stock and no longer showing the original price. However, given that Newegg and Staples so closely agree on price, I do believe around $150 was the original retail price of this headboard. Future Shop and Best Buy both have this headboard on clearance, but Amazon Canada beats that price by $9.

I was also looking at Walmart for what your cheapest alternative was via the big box store. Their cheapest queen headboard is $87.97 so you are certainly getting a great deal on this Sonax Plateau queen headboard.

I also price compared the single headboard. I found it for:

  • $99.94 @ Staples Canada
  • $39.97 @ Best Buy & Future Shop

I assume around $100 was the original price. Best Buy and Future Shop both have this headboard on clearance, but again Amazon Canada beats their price. This time Amazon’s price is $6 cheaper.

Looking at Walmart Canada, the cheapest twin/single size headboard they have costs $89 so this one for $34 is great. The single headboard should fit both a single and a twin bed. The queen size headboard will also fit a double bed.

These headboards are made in Canada and will work with most standard bed frames. If you have a Sonax bed-frame from one of these collections, then your new headboard should match beautifully. Both the Frost White and the Black are such neutral colours that they should match with any design you are working with.

The reviews are mixed for the queen headboard (no reviews for the single), so take a little time to educate yourself and be ready to make a return if one arrives not as described (like missing screw holes).

Both those headboards qualify for free shipping from Amazon Canada.

Amazon Canada: Are You Being Served? The Complete Collection On DVD | Was $125 Now $46 (EXPIRED)Good morning, my fellow Bargainmoosers! It normally sells on Amazon for $124.98, but you can now buy it for $45.99! You’ll also qualify for free shipping when you purchase this huge box set! For those who aren’t aware, Are You Being Served? was a popular comedy program that played on the British BBC network. Episodes of this comedy show were also played on YTV here in Canada (and I’m sure it was on some other channels as well, but I specifically remember finding it on YTV late at night when I was a child, and it continued to be played when I was a teen).

This is a cute set for fans of this hilarious British show. My best friend was born in England, and I still specifically remember his Grandma and Mom watching this series and having a great time while doing so. This Are You Being Served? The Complete Collection on DVD set would certainly please fans of the series, since it’s packed with tons of episodes spanning 14 DVDs. It could be a great gift for the holidays.

If you wanted to buy this Are You Being Served? The Complete Collection on DVD from WalMart Canada, it would cost you $94.21 (that’s more than double the price on Amazon today). I’ve included a brief review of this set from a satisfied Amazon customer below:

I have been a huge fan of Are You Being Served for decades. This complete series is a necessary part of my DVD collection. The episodes need no comment, they are funny, entertaining, a great British show.
