34 FREE Apps In Celebration Of Appstore’s Birthday @ Amazon Canada (Android Only) (EXPIRED)

34 FREE Apps In Celebration Of Appstores Birthday @ Amazon Canada (Android Only) (EXPIRED)

In celebration of the Appstore’s birthday, Amazon is currently offering 34 apps at no extra cost. These are all normally paid apps but until Saturday, you can get them all for free!

This is actually a pretty awesome freebie because if you were to download all of these apps, then you would be looking at up to $115 savings! Now, you can certainly go on a downloading frenzy, especially since there is nothing stopping you from just deleting all of these ones that you don’t actually want after, but perhaps it would be best to just download the ones you see yourself using! 34 FREE Apps In Celebration Of Appstores Birthday @ Amazon Canada (Android Only) (EXPIRED)

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, which is the very first one in the image above, is actually one of the Appstore’s most critically acclaimed app right now as it’s super fun and very addicting. As the nightly security guard, your job is to guard the premises and make sure that nothing goes haywire… but of course, things do go haywire and it’s your job to deal with them! The great part about this app is that it’s kid friendly. It’s usually priced at $3.39.

Cut The Rope looks like a worthy download as well and one that I would certainly go for if I had an Android phone. Originally selling for $1.02, it’s a puzzle game that features 16 boxes with a whopping 400 levels. Forget Candy Crush and it’s never ending levels, try this one instead as you might actually have a chance at beating it!

Servers Ultimate Pro is for the extremely tech savvy. It’s usually priced at $13.39 and is a server setup app that can run over 60 different servers from your device, it has over 70 available protocols and 16 network tools — wow! Usually, each server would cost either $0.99 or $1.99 but with this freebie, you get over 60 servers at no extra charge.

Element of Photography Pro looks like a great app for photography junkies. Usually listed for $2.50, this is actually an educational app that covers all aspects of photography from the basics to the more advanced topics. Even better is that it’s available in 14 languages from English to French, German, Russian, Japanese, etc. If you have been looking into learning more about photography, then this is definitely a must-download!

Moosers, which app(s) will you be getting for free?

Amazon Canada: 53% Off Batman The Complete TV Series [Blu Ray] Now $141 (EXPIRED)

Posted by on March 20, 2015 at 1:53 PM

Amazon Canada: 53% Off Batman The Complete TV Series [Blu Ray] Now $141 (EXPIRED)

I am seriously geeking out over today’s one day deal at Amazon Canada. Originally $299.99, Batman: The Complete TV Series (Limited Edition) [Blu-ray] is now on sale for $140.99 with free shipping.

This TV series is legendary in the geek world. Every time I attend a comic convention, there is always a smattering of humans who were born after the series that still dress up as characters from the series. Batman and Robin’s costumes tend to be the most popular to cosplay, but The Joker and Catwoman still have a soft spot in many fan’s hearts.

I quickly price compared this set with other retailers. Here is what the complete limited edition Batman TV series retails for elsewhere:

  • $239.99 @ Future Shop Canada (sold out)
  • $239.99 @ Best Buy Canada (sold out)

I also checked at Walmart. they have the regular DVD version for $168.97 – without the special edition car. Amazon Canada’s price on this special edition set is certainly the lowest price around. Amazon also appears to be the only place to find this set right now.

A quick look at reviews will show you that this set is well loved. One reviewer said:

A newly re-mastered classic TV series. What’s not to love? The box design is great, the way the product is laid out inside the box just makes this really feel like a collector’s item. Not to mention re-watching this amazing series all over again is great fun!

This special edition set includes all 120 original broadcast episodes that have been fully remastered in HD. You also receive the Adam West scrapbook, 44 vintage trading cards, and a 32-page complete episode guide. On top of that, you can put the entire collection on your computer with the ultraviolet digital copy that is included with the set. This set also includes three hours of never seen before special features. The highlight of this set, in my opinion, is the Hot Wheels replica Batmobile that you receive as well. This was the first of many iconic cars driven by the millionaire hero.

Speaking of the car, I have seen it in person. Two years ago (I think), I was at the Vancouver Comic Expo. They brought in the original Batmobile car from this series. It was one of the highlights of the show and there was always a crowd taking pictures around it. I caught that picture above when The Riddler decided to steal the Batmobile. Thankfully, the attempt was thwarted!

Stanley 12.5” Toolbox for Only $4.99 @ Amazon.ca! (Add-On Item)

Posted by on March 20, 2015 at 1:30 PM

Stanley 12.5” Toolbox for Only $4.99 @ Amazon.ca! (Add On Item)

Does your hammer need a home? Are your screws needing stored? Do your bits need a box? If so, check out the deal on this 12.5” Stanley STST13011 Toolbox on offer @ Amazon.ca just now. Originally priced at $15.99, you can grab this handy little toolbox for only $4.99!

If you don’t have the Amazon Prime delivery service, you’d have to make your order up to $25 to get free super saver shipping on this Stanley toolbox, as it is only an “add-on item.” But I know many Moosers probably already have Amazon Prime, meaning that you can just order the above without having to order anything else, and get free shipping to your home. Shipping is a little slow though, you’ll have to wait three to five weeks for this item from Amazon.

The Stanley toolbox has two organisers on the top for small parts storage, to house things like your screw anchors and nails. It’s also got a little tote tray inside which is very useful if you’re doing some DIY and you’re carrying a few tools and accessories round with you.

The reviewers on Amazon are pretty happy with this toolbox, with a few comments about it being a good toolbox for basic home use, but not likely up to the job of being out on a construction site. Makes sense!

I googled for some price comparisons on this item and I actually spotted the very same toolbox at the same price on Lowes here. However, you’d have to spend $49 or more to get it shipped for free there. If you’re buying the toolbox on its own from Lowes, shipping would cost an extra $6.49 in ON for example, more than the cost of the item itself! You do have the option to collect it in-store at Lowes though, if you are so inclined.

My partner has a toolbox almost identical to this one, except I think it’s a larger model. I find that the top storage organisers are incredibly handy. There are lots of little accessories in there which are close to hand when needed for a DIY job round the home; screws, nails, hooks, etc.

TODAY ONLY! Sunbeam Mini Tower Air Purifier Was $70 | Now $41 & Free Shipping @ Amazon.ca (EXPIRED)

Posted by on March 20, 2015 at 8:52 AM

TODAY ONLY! Sunbeam Mini Tower Air Purifier Was $70 | Now $41 & Free Shipping @ Amazon.ca (EXPIRED)

With spring flowers come springtime allergies. Make breathing a little easier with the Sunbeam Mini Tower Air Purifier which was $69.99 but is now only $40.99 @ Amazon.ca. This item qualifies for free super saver shipping too!

Air filters are an item I know well, as I have seasonal allergies to pollen and also allergies to dust. When the flowers start blooming, I start sneezing. While over the counter allergy relief products do help to keep the sniffles at bay, they get expensive plus who wants to be taking medication all the time? I find that by cleaning my house a little deeper and running an air cleaner, I am able to reduce the amount of allergy medication I need. I also do not like finding my bookshelf, TV and other furniture regularly covered in dust. A filter can help to reduce that dust.

This air purifier is a Sunbeam, which is a brand that holds its own in the air filter market. I have owned a Sunbeam in the past and it did the job well. This filter is a mini-size that is for small rooms up to 106 square feet. If you have trouble with allergies at work, this looks like it would be ideal to put on the edge of your desk. The machine also says it will remove 99% of contaminates in your space.

The filter has three settings, including a high setting with an extra-ionized boost. The first time you run a filter I recommend running it on high for a while before switching to low. I found any time I dusted it was a good idea to switch to high. I have also had success with a filter similar to this removing a damp smell from my basement after cleaning up a leak. Users are reporting that the two lower settings are quiet, but the highest setting is a little noisier.

I price shopped around a little bit, and here is what I found at the competitors for the same filter.

One reviewer on Walmart Canada seems to be having a positive experience with this filter.

This air purifier is great for the price. I bought it because we have a small child and was worried about the amount of dust in my apartment. Within a week, it has reduced the amount of dust by half at least.

With spring on the way, there will be more pollen and extra dust. I would grab this filter at this price now. This is the perfect size to use seasonally as it is not as large as the other giant filters. This Sunbeam is a special lightning deal today and will only be around as long as they have stock.

48x Zwipes Microfiber Cleaning Cloths Were $56 now only $20.32 @ Amazon.ca!

Posted by on March 19, 2015 at 8:00 AM

48x Zwipes Microfiber Cleaning Cloths Were $56 now only $20.32 @ Amazon.ca!

Over on Amazon.ca just now, you can pick up a bulk lot of some Zwipes microfiber cleaning cloths at an excellent price – just $20.32 for a pack of 48! This works out at approximately $0.42 per cleaning cloth.

These cleaning cloths fall just under the free shipping threshold of $25 on Amazon.ca. You could pop something small in your cart to fill it up. Or, those of us with Amazon Prime can get these shipped for free anyway, without worrying about the cart size.

I hear you ask, why does anyone need 48 microfiber cleaning cloths!? Well, everyone uses this type of cloth in a different fashion. For example in my household, I have about 10 of these in my cleaning cupboard. I have a little rhyme which I use when cleaning the bathroom… pink for the sink, blue for the loo. I use the different coloured cloths for different jobs, and everyone who visits the house knows not to use the blue cloths for any job other than cleaning the toilet. I use the lime green ones for kitchen use and general all-round cleaning, things like surfaces and windows.

When I first heard about microfiber cloths, it was actually for window cleaning. I saw a demonstration at a store, where a rep used one wet cloth to clean the window, then a dry cloth of another colour to dry the window. It didn’t use any cleaning chemicals or fluids, just the microfiber cloths. Since then, I’ve been using these cloths around the home. They’re super for cleaning windows without cleaning products, leaving them smear-free.

I do think 48 is probably quite a lot of cloths for your average household, but you could even consider ordering these and splitting the order with some friends or family. These are very handy cleaning cloths and can be used anywhere. A few of the product images on Amazon show people using these cloths to clean their car – this is a super idea and something I hadn’t thought of myself.

The Walking Dead Season 4 Limited Collector’s Edition Was $150 | Now $50 & Free Shipping @ Amazon.ca

Posted by on March 16, 2015 at 1:04 AM

The Walking Dead Season 4 Limited Collectors Edition Was $150 | Now $50 & Free Shipping @ Amazon.ca

The Walking Dead fans, here is a deal that might not be live for very long. Amazon Canada has The Walking Dead: Season 4 Limited Collector’s Edition on sale for 68% off the regular price. This means you will be left paying just $48.74 for this Blu-ray and Digital Copy of The Walking Dead Season 4 instead of $150. Shipping will be included in this price from Amazon.ca as well.

Prepare to indulge yourself in 5 discs of The Walking Dead: Season 4 with this great discount from Amazon.ca. You would normally pay $150 for this Limited Collector’s Edition (Tree Walker Set), but now you will pay just $48.74 if you act fast enough. Of course the Digital Copy may be subject to expiration, but for this price you can’t complain really. Other retailers are selling this same Limited Collector’s Edition Season 4 of The Walking Dead for almost double the price.

Here is a quick look at this product sold at other Canadian retailers:

In this season of The Walking Dead, you will get to see Rick and his group of survivors take care of the safe haven’s community. This does not last long though. Soon, the group will lose everything including their family, friends and home. The survivors will be broken apart and set forth to experience new dangers, enemies, and choices. You will have to watch this season of The Walking Dead to see what happens.

Personally I don’t watch The Walking Dead. I don’t find much time to sit and watch a TV series. If I did have the time though, this would definitely be on my list of shows to watch. I can’t stand commercials, so the only way I would watch a TV series would be if I were to purchase it in a set like this. There are many satisfied reviews for this product, but some cons as well. Here is one of the Amazon Canada customer reviews for The Walking Dead: Season 4 Limited Collector’s Edition:

One of my favorite series but the TV version is hard to take with commercial interruptions every few minutes. If it is worth watching then the box sets are the only way to go, and this series is definitely worth watching. Good acting, good story line, great suspense and characters you can get to like and also hate. Also unpredictable and that alone is worth the money.

Amazon Canada will even throw in free shipping on all orders over $25, so you won’t have to worry about paying any of those fees. Act fast though, we all know that Amazon.ca deals can vanish in the blink of an eye. If you are a serious enough fan, the disc case is even a cool looking zombie climbing out of a tree. What an elegant decoration!

Monster Superstar Bluetooth Speaker Was $170 Now $70 @ Amazon.ca & Free Shipping! (EXPIRED)

Monster Superstar Bluetooth Speaker Was $170 Now $70 @ Amazon.ca & Free Shipping! (EXPIRED)

While browsing Amazon.ca for price drops this morning, my web browser happened upon a deal on this neon blue Monster Superstar bluetooth speaker which was originally priced at $169.95. If you want to save 59% on the cost of this item, you can do so just now because it’s only $69.99 and that comes with free super saver shipping from Amazon Canada!

The speaker is also available here in the black and grey finish here on Amazon but it is priced at $83.99, so it’s nowhere near as good a price as the blue model. I know that the neon blue finish won’t be to everyone’s liking, but if you can live with the colour then this speaker is a bargain and a half. Avigayil last posted about this item here back in January when it was $89.99 @ Shop.ca. But just now, you’re getting an even better deal.

If you’re interested in this deal – please buy now. Amazon stock is notorious and it can go out of stock at this price at the drop of a hat. I think it’s a hot price and won’t last for long. It’s the lowest price I’ve ever seen this item for on Amazon.

How about the prices elsewhere online? Pretty much everywhere else that I checked online in Canada, was selling this very same speaker in various colourations for around $120 to $140. This includes the top sellers such as Best Buy, Staples, Future Shop, The Source and a few more. The next best price I could see online was $98 @ London Drugs here, for the pink and black model.

As for the product itself, it seems to score some good ratings, having achieved five 5 star reviews there on Amazon. It’s a fairly similar story where there are a couple more reviews here on Future Shop, with 14 five star ratings. Here’s an example for you:

Monster Superstar Bluetooth Speaker Was $170 Now $70 @ Amazon.ca & Free Shipping! (EXPIRED)

As you can see, this buyer was very happy with their new speaker! They’ve got a party in their pocket and they’re not afraid to share it. Monster Superstar Bluetooth Speaker Was $170 Now $70 @ Amazon.ca & Free Shipping! (EXPIRED)

Forever Love Soft Nail Caps for Cats From $4.50 & Free Shipping @ Amazon.ca

Posted by on March 14, 2015 at 5:57 PM

Forever Love Soft Nail Caps for Cats From $4.50 & Free Shipping @ Amazon.ca

If you have a cat, you know the destruction that may come with it. These soft nail caps can be glued to your cat’s nails to prevent scratches, destruction and more. They are also much more  humane than declawing your feline friend. You might spend up to $25 on these nail caps at your local pet store, but if you purchase the Forever Love 20 pieces Soft Pet Nail Caps for Cat Claws, you will pay as low as $4.50. Shipping is even included!

There are a variety of colours available for these nifty little cat nail caps, so choose the best suiting for your feline friend. The sale prices range from $4.50 – $4.80 instead of their regular price of $12.26, which is still much better than the regular price at pet stores. From pink to blue, your cat will be looking stylish in no time. These cat caps by Forever Love are great because they will prevent any damages to furniture, curtains, and more as well. The adhesive glue is included with these which is great, I don’t know where else you would be able to purchase that. With my personal cat, Iris, I find that the caps last about 2-3 weeks before they start to fall off. They fall off one at a time and I usually reapply them after cutting the nail. They have saved my furniture and suede chairs that is for sure.

I added a photo of my cat wearing her purple and pink nail caps at the bottom of this post. We blurred her face for privacy purposes, hehe. Here are the colour options and prices available for these Forever Love 20 Pieces Cat Nail Covers:

There are quite a variety of colours available, but the pricing on other colours seems to increase in price. Just be sure to pay attention to the sizing before you make your purchase. My cat is a six month old Siamese and wears a size small. I would normally pay $18 for the Kitty Caps version at PetSmart, so this is a great price and I will definitely take advantage. Also keep in mind that these items are not shipped by or sold by Amazon, and they could take about a month to get to you.

We don’t normally write about Amazon marketplace sellers here on Bargainmoose unless it is an interesting or hot deal, which this is. There are two different sellers, depending on which colour you choose. The sellers’ ratings aren’t amazingly high, but you’re spending less than $5 including shipping here, so it’s not a huge risk to be taking. I think the sellers get low ratings because the products probably ship from outside Canada and take a while to be received.

You will even get free shipping on your purchase of these Forever Love 20pcs Soft Pet Nails Cat Claws, so dig in! There is no telling how long this deal will last or how long quantities will last, so be sure to snag it quickly.

Amazon Canada: Stott Pilates Eco Deluxe Mat Was $95 | Now $58 & Free Shipping

Posted by on March 13, 2015 at 11:53 AM

Amazon Canada: Stott Pilates Eco Deluxe Mat Was $95 | Now $58 & Free Shipping

I was searching through Amazon’s deals today and found a good one for all the fitness enthusiasts among us. Get the Stott Pilates eco-deluxe mat for only $58.04, with a regular price of $95.20. I shopped around and found this was definitely the best price out there, by far. It will also ship to you for free.

At first you might be saying that almost $60 is a lot to pay for a pilates mat, but if you do pilates or yoga regularly, you’ll know that a good mat is so important. I have a ratty old yoga mat that I bought from Walmart probably 15 years ago and I know I need a new one. What the difference here between a regular yoga mat is that this one looks a lot thicker and easier on your body. My yoga mat is really only there for slip prevention. This mat looks like it is a bit of a cushion between you and the floor, which for someone getting a little older (in my 30s) is needed. I’ve usually just folded the mat over when I need more support for my elbows and especially my knees, but having a mat like this is a much better option.

Besides that, this mat is environmentally friendly because it is recyclable and decomposable, so it won’t sit in the landfill once you are done with it.

There are three colours available, although they are different prices. The blue/black is the one that is $58.04. The raspberry/black is $59.55 and the teal/black is $61.16. They all are a few dollars difference in price, but still over $30 off.

Just to show that Amazon hasn’t inflated their prices on this mat, I found it at Sportchek for $94.99, at Sporting Life for $94.99, and on sale at Well.ca for $84.99.

Reviewers are Amazon.com rate it highly and say:

This mat is perfect – super cushy, non-sliding, and most importantly non-stinky (no chemical smell). Ordering a second one today.

I don’t think this mat will last long, so grab it while you can!

Amazon.ca: Fisher-Price 2-in-1 Portable Potty Was $25 | Now $13 (FS @ $25)

Posted by on March 11, 2015 at 3:17 PM

Amazon.ca: Fisher Price 2 in 1 Portable Potty Was $25 | Now $13 (FS @ $25)

You have a baby and suddenly you do not have any money to spare. If this sounds like you, then check out the Fisher-Price 2-in-1 Portable Potty. It is on sale from $24.99 down to $12.60. Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

Just a warning, the initial description right under the price is not for this item – it is an error. However, you can read further down where the specs are given for this unit. This travel potty features a folding ring that fits into a discreet tote. This way you can take it along when you travel and use it in public restrooms. The seat legs also fold down for easy storage. Three standard size (four gallon) waste bags are included with potty. There is also a splashguard to help boys keep it in the toilet. Ideal for potty training away from home, this is a convenient and inexpensive portable potty.

Reviewers are somewhat divided on the potty – but most the reviews on Amazon.COM are positive. This one reviewer was ecstatic at how multi-purpose this seat was:

Another great feature is that the seat is a dual use seat for travel, topping standard sized potties found in public restrooms. We haven’t used it anywhere public yet, but did try it on our home toilet & it worked great

Other reviewers have complained that the seat is too large, but it is designed to fit on a standard size toilet as well. Another reviewer liked the size of the seat as it works well for older kids.

Another reviewer was happy about convenience. They do not have to worry about going to a playground or park without convenient washrooms. She can just set it up in the back of her SUV without issues. The reviewer said:

This portable potty has become my new best potty training friend… I also appreciate that I can use almost any plastic bag for this, and the top seat doubles as a public restroom seat. Super user friendly!

You will not need to buy any special bags for this as it works with a variety of bags.

I could not find this potty anywhere else in Canada. However, most places in the USA had the potty for $19.98 US up to $24.98 US. The cheapest potty (any brand) on Walmart Canada is still $15 and it is not terribly portable. For $13, I think this is a great investment.

Amazon.ca: The Club 3100 Steering Wheel Anti-Theft Lock Only $6

Posted by on March 10, 2015 at 4:25 PM

Amazon.ca: The Club 3100 Steering Wheel Anti Theft Lock Only $6

Amazon.ca has an extremely good deal on the Winner The Club 3100 Twin Hooks Steering Wheel Anti-Theft Lock. The lock is on sale for $5.99 and qualifies for free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

There were not a lot of other places that sell this anti-theft system so price comparing was a bit difficult. I did find this exact same steering wheel lock at Amazon.COM for $26.59. In addition, a seller on eBay has The Club 3100 for $36.95 US but does not ship to Canada. According to Amazon.COM, the original price for this lock was $29.99 US.

For $6, you really cannot go wrong. This black and gold coloured lock looks less ostentatious than the usual red locks. With twin hooks, it is harder for a thief just to cut the steering wheel and slide off the bar.

Some people criticize the lock for having a low quality lock where the key is liable to jam. However, the reviews are quite positive overall. On Amazon.COM, the Club 3100 averages 4.1/5 stars with over 30 reviews. On Amazon.ca, it has nothing but good reviews like this one:

It’s goes on and comes off super easy! I actually use it all the time which was a concern of mine. It takes less then 5 seconds to put on. Just put the key ON your car keychain and you won’t likely ever have a problem like some people who left their key at home(?) It comes with 2 keys.

The other reviewer actually runs a dealership and has bought eight of these steering wheel locks to secure various vehicles.

Overall, I think this is a small investment for a bit more peace of mind. I hear all the time about car thefts or break and entering in my city. It really makes me paranoid about my own car’s safety. As person commented, this may not stop a professional thief but if there is a choice between a car without a club and one with a club, most thieves will go for the easier job.

Buy a little peace of mind for only $6. If you are a Prime member, then you will receive free shipping on this club. For anyone else, free shipping is at $25. Shipping will take two to four weeks from date of order.

BBC Movies & TV BOGO Free @ Amazon Canada

Posted by on March 10, 2015 at 12:57 PM

BBC Movies & TV BOGO Free @ Amazon Canada

I think I just had a heart attack. Amazon Canada has an incredible promotion on BBC series right now. Buy One, Get One Free on a plethora of BBC television series’ and movies.

I have never seen a promotion quite like this before from such a major content producer. The BCC produces some of the greatest content on this planet, including the legendary Planet Earth series, Dr. Who, and more.

This is a limited time offer; I do not know when it expires. The lowest priced items will be discounted to free with a maximum of three free items per order. As a massive fan of the BBC Nature documentaries, I immediately looked for the titles missing from my collection.

Earthflight: The Complete Series (BD) [Blu-ray] is a recent release by BBC Nature that follows the migratory path of birds. This Blu-ray set is on sale for the lowest price it has ever been on Amazon as well! Originally $49.98, Earthflight is now only $19.96. I would pair this DVD up with something similarly priced so I get the best discount.

I have long admired the Wonders of the Universe [Blu-ray] disk set. I was really into stars as a child, and that is the one thing that all my other BBC Earth sets do not really talk much about. That is no surprise as the theme of BBC Earth is ‘Earth’ and getting to know your planet. However, I want to learn about beyond my planet. Wonders of the Universe was $30.98 and is now $22.93.

There are three sets of ‘Wonders’ documentaries, each with a slightly different theme. Amazon Canada has two of the three, so I would also purchase Wonders of the Solar System [Blu-ray], which is on sale from $43.98 down to $33.45. If I purchased both of the Wonders Blu-Ray sets, I would only pay for the Solar System one and get the Universe for free.

I am overwhelmed by my choices! I have long wanted to purchase Madagascar [Blu-ray] as it is one incredible place. That Blu-ray set was $43.98 and is now $32.83. I could combine that with Earthflight above to receive Earthflight free.

There are over 600 titles included in this offer – so there is literally something for everyone. Even if you are not a BBC Nature freak like me, there are plenty of thrillers, drama, comedy, sci-fi, and more titles for you to choose from in the offer.

Amazon.ca: Call of Duty Ghosts (XBox 360) Was $30 | Now $5 *HOT*

Posted by on March 10, 2015 at 12:19 PM

Amazon.ca: Call of Duty Ghosts (XBox 360) Was $30 | Now $5 *HOT*

A few days ago, Call of Duty: Ghosts for the PS3 went on sale for $4.99 and sold out very quickly! Today, Amazon Canada dropped their price on the xBox 360 version. Call of Duty: Ghosts (xBox 360) is now on sale from $29.99 down to $4.99. Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more at Amazon or pay around $5 for just this game to be shipped out.

A quick price comparison shows that this game is well below any other retailer’s price. Here is what other Canadian retailers are selling the xBox 360 version for:

  • $29.99 @ Future Shop Canada
  • $29.99 @ Best Buy Canada
  • $29.99 @ Toys R Us Canada
  • $49.99 @ Chapters Indigo Canada

Used copies retail for $24.99 at Best Buy and Future Shop. Essentially, you are getting a new copy for $20 cheaper than a used copy. Really, you cannot do better than that.

This game is really not that old. Released in November 2013, this first-person shooter video game is part of the Call of Duty line of games. I checked out the game on metacritic, where it has a 73/100 rating via critics. I did find out some interesting info on player development, which I thought I would share:

In Call of Duty: Ghosts you don’t just create a class, you create a soldier. Choose the head, body type, head-gear and equipment, and you can even create a female soldier for the first time. With over 20,000 possible combinations, you can create the soldier you’ve always wanted. And each soldier you create will also have his or her own load outs

I find it fascinating that you can create female soldiers in this game as female characters are often ignored in first-person shooter games like this. I really like this development, as I would love to create a kick-ass female soldier. I like males well enough, but creating a character within a game is a way of inserting yourself into the game in avatar form. I like to game, but i do not need a sex change!

If you want to see how this game plays on the xBox 360, there are plenty of YouTube videos to give you a walk through. I picked out this one, as it is nice and short.

Amazon Canada: ErgoBaby Designer Series Carrier Was $150 | Now $110 & Free Shipping

Amazon Canada: ErgoBaby Designer Series Carrier Was $150 | Now $110 & Free Shipping

Having a baby soon or need a shower gift? I’ve got a great deal for you from Amazon on the Ergobaby Designer Series Christy Turlington Burns carrier in Umba. Regularly $150, it is selling for $109.95 and you’ll also get free shipping.

Having a carrier for your baby is probably more important than having a stroller. I have friends who swear by the Ergo carrier, and one of the best things about them is that they are gorgeous carriers. While I had a Baby Bjorn, it was kind of boring. It also didn’t have the ergonomic features that the ErgoBaby ones have, and it probably would have helped my back!

Because it looks like Amazon screwed up on the description of this item and actually has the description of a frame, I went right to the source and got you some details from the ErgoBaby website. Don’t worry, your carrier won’t just hold a 5×7 photo.

This particular carrier is part of the Designer series, but it looks like it is the original style. The original is actually award winning and has padded shoulder straps and waistband. It is that waistband that the Baby Bjorn didn’t have that I would have more than appreciated. Also, the padding looks a lot more deluxe than what I was used. It also has a hood, which keeps baby’s head comfortable when they are small or are napping.

I also like that it distributes the weight to you between your shoulders and hips so not just one area takes the load. You can also wear it in different carry positions, even when you are pregnant! I read the Why Ergo on that site, and I think this could convince you as well.

As you can see on that site, the originals that aren’t even in the designer series sell for a minimum of $115 and that is in U.S. dollars plus shipping. As for selling in Canada, I didn’t find the designer series selling at many other stores, but at ByNature it sells without the designer collection for $140. The original also sells at Baby Style for $130. I did find the exact model at Tadpoles and Butterflies for $150.

If you are curious about this particular pattern, it is actually a great story. As you might know, Christy Turlington Burns is a former supermodel who started the Every Mother Counts initiative. The pattern was actually created by a mother in Togo using wooden blocks. What a great story your carrier also comes with!

Call of Duty: Ghosts (PS3) Only $5 @ Amazon.ca *HOT* (EXPIRED)

Call of Duty: Ghosts (PS3) Only $5 @ Amazon.ca *HOT* (EXPIRED)

Call of Duty: Ghosts for the PS3 is on sale for a steal! Originally $29.99, the game is now being sold for $4.99! Amazon Canada offers free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

Now, I price compared this game and the deal at Amazon Canada is out of this world! Here is what other retailers are currently selling the game for:

  • $29.99 @ Best Buy Canada
  • $29.99 @ Future Shop Canada
  • $29.99 @ Toys R Us Canada
  • $49.99 @ Chapters Indigo Canada

The price comparisons are hardly comparisons – the game is just an incredible deal at Amazon right now. I found some used titles for sale through other retailers, and they all retailed for $19.99 to $24.99 as well. I could not find a copy of this game – anywhere – for cheaper.

Now, I know nothing about this game but the fans on Amazon Canada are all over it. One reviewer said:

Its an pretty good game. The best part of the game would definitely have to be the campaign. The multiplayer is not as good as some previous call of duty titles, but its okay.

Overall, the game rates 4.4/5 stars with 36 reviews. I also checked the rating on Amazon.com as they usually have more reviewers. With 1,575 reviews, the game ranks a solid 3.9/5 stars. That is a bit lower than it is on Amazon Canada, but still very solid. Need I remind you that this is a $5 game? I thought not.

Here is a synopsis of the game:

This new chapter in the Call of Duty franchise features a new dynamic where players are on the side of a crippled nation fighting not for freedom, or liberty, but simply to survive.

This is totally not my type of game, but is certainly worth the money Amazon is asking. Even if you are on the fence about this game, I am pretty sure you could trade it in for more money than you are actually paying. EB games generally has a very good trade-in policy and PS3 games are still in demand.

Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more. Under that, expect to pay around $5 for shipping.
