Amazon Canada: Up To 40% Off Good Grips

Posted by on March 28, 2014 at 12:00 PM

Amazon Canada: Up To 40% Off Good Grips

Amazon has a great deal on Good Grips brand of kitchen tools, with up to 40% off select tools.

I have a number of Good Grips tools in my kitchen drawers that I use regularly. They last for years, so they are a good investment to make. Seriously, I got some as a wedding gift (married almost ten years ago) and they are still kicking.

These OXO Good Grips 3-piece angled measuring cups are very handy. It is nice to have different sized measuring cups and the angle lets you read measurements from above. Was $29.99, now $19.99.

I really need this OXO Good Grips smooth edge can opener. All of my can openers keep breaking! Was $32.99, now $19.99.

My mom has this OXO Good Grips soap dispensing palm brush. It is so handy for scrubbing with the little bit of soap that comes out and the bristles. Was $8.99, now $7.99.

Shipping is free on orders over $25 so stock your kitchen up. These items make great wedding shower gifts too.

Amazon Canada: Up To 40% Off Honey Can Do

Amazon Canada: Up To 40% Off Honey Can Do

If Spring cleaning is on your list in the next couple of months (it is definitely on mine), you might need a little extra help with Honey Can Do. Honey Can Do is a line of products basically for storage. So if you aren’t tossing it or donating it and need a place to store or organize it, this sale is for you.

I love organizing tools and the items at this Honey Can Do sale are quite intriguing. Sometimes you just wonder where the heck you are going to put certain things, and these items are life and space savers.

This heavy-duty triple laundry sorter with wheels and detachable laundry baskets is so perfect. I love the idea of sorting your clothes as you take them off and when the bin is full, you throw a load in the washing machine. I am the wait until the mountain of laundry is so high that I can’t find my kids in it type, so this would definitely change my mindset. Was $69.66, now $42.49.

If the shoes piling up in your closet scares you more than the boogeyman (or the skeletons) in your closet, you need this shoe organizer and storage cubby for 10 pairs. Now, while most women would need a few of these (I think I’d need about 5), it is a start to corralling your shoe mess. Was $34.83, now $22.49.

If crafting is your thing, this 12-drawer organizer studio cart is so good. Not just for your crafts, you could use it to store kid’s crafts, wool, toys, and so much more. If you need drawers, this is what you need. Was $93.26, now $79.99.

Shipping is free on a $25 spend.

Amazon Canada: LEGO Watch, Clock & Minifigure Set Only $20

Amazon Canada: LEGO Watch, Clock & Minifigure Set Only $20

Amazon has a fantastic deal on for all those LEGO lovers out there. Get this LEGO kid’s city policeman minifigure clock and watch set for only $20.99, was $54.99. My kids actually have both a LEGO watch and clock and both were a minimum of $20 each when we bought them, so I know this is a great deal and would make a sweet gift.

There is absolutely no description for this item, so I’m going to have to tell you my own details and you can view the pictures of it on Amazon’s site. The clock is a good size and perfect for kids, especially the ones who have trouble getting out of or staying in bed. You could set some ground rules that your child can’t get up until the clock says 7, or can’t leave their room once the clock says 8. I have a number loving child who would do well with this – I just need to put new batteries in the clock!

Both my older boys have the LEGO watches, which are great for telling them what time to be home if they are at a friend’s house, or just in general so they can sit at school counting the hours until it is time to go home. There are links you can add or take away so the watch will fit any wrist. This set also comes with a bonus minifigure.

Amazon has a number of other LEGO items on sale too, like the watches or clocks on their own. They are a good deal, but not as good as this set, but if your child is more of a fan of Star Wars LEGO or Ninjago or other types of LEGO, you might want to look at those deals instead.

Shipping is free on orders over $25.

Amazon Canada: Up to 75% Off Popular Movie Titles

Posted by on March 22, 2014 at 9:00 PM

Amazon Canada: Up to 75% Off Popular Movie Titles

Amazon Canada is offering up to 75% off popular movie titles right now.

I actually found out about this sale when three items I had in my cart suddenly dropped in price by a very good amount!

Ever since I saw part of Now You See Me / Insaisissable [Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy] on a plane, I have wanted the movie so badly. It is a fantastic movie and not only does it include a couple of my favourite actors (Michael Cain and Mark Ruffalo) but the plot is fantastic and the movie is a lot of fun to watch. Originally $26.99 it is now $14.99 and on my ‘to buy’ list.

Another movie on my ‘to buy’ list is one I already own on DVD but I wish to upgrade to blu-ray. I just adore Robin Hood: 40th Anniversary Edition [Blu-ray + DVD] (Bilingual) which is the Disney Robin Hood done a way back. It is the movie I watch when I am sick or not feeling well because it brings me lots of comfort and tons of little kiddy joy. Originally $26.50 it is now on sale for $15.

The same day that both those movies went down in price I also noticed that Robin Hood: The Complete BBC Series went down in price (though I’m not sure if it is poart of this sale or not). This series has Richard Armitage (who plays Thorin in The Hobbit movies) in it and I adore him. Originally $139.99, it is now on sale for $64.99 which is the lowest I have seen the set ever.

I have really eclectic tastes so be sure to check out the sale section to satisfy your own style.

Amazon Canada: Hunger Games Trilogy just $25.08 & Free Shipping (was $40)

Amazon Canada: Hunger Games Trilogy just $25.08 & Free Shipping (was $40)

If you are one of the many people that fell in love with the Hunger Games movies but still haven’t read the books, you are in luck.  You can get the entire Hunger Games Trilogy for 37% off the regular price right now over at Amazon Canada.

The Hunger Games trilogy was $40 and is now just $25.08.  That is 37% off the regular price which is a pretty great deal for something so popular right now.

This trilogy includes: The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay.  At the low price of $25.08, it works out to just about $8 a book and you also get the box set to hold them all. There are a lot of the set left but I suspect at this price, they may go pretty quick.

Just to make sure this was the best deal out there I did some price comparison. I found it at Chapters Indigo Canada on sale for $30, I also found it at Walmart Canada for $41.98 and they were already out of stock at that price.

I have to confess, I have watched both the first and the second movie but I have yet to actually read the series.  My goal is to read the series before the next movie comes out.

This Hunger Games trilogy will get free shipping which is an added bonus.

Amazon Canada: Bosch Rotary Hammer $99.99 (was $370)

Amazon Canada: Bosch Rotary Hammer $99.99 (was $370)

Amazon Canada has a great deal for all of the handyman out there.  Get a Bosch 112258VSR rotary hammer for just $99.99.

This tool was $370 and is now just $99.99 making the new price 73% off right now.

I am already thinking ahead for Father’s Day with this great deal.  My husband loves his tools and I know that Bosch is a great brand.  At the regular price, he would normally not be purchasing this.  At 73% off however, I can get it for him and look like the hero wife!

This tool comes with a one year warranty and 3 SDS bits to use.  It has a two mode selector and it easily converts from rotary hammer mode to rotation only mode quickly.   It is considered to be one of the best performing rotary hammer in its class.

I wanted to do some price comparison on this tool before I got one myself.  I found one at Home Depot for $798.  Granted it is a little different but it is the exact brand and has the same  1-5/8 inch rotary hammer. I couldn’t find it at Lowes Canada or at Canadian Tire either.

This items will also get free shipping saving you even more money.

Amazon Canada: 25% Or More Off Golf Clubs

Amazon Canada: 25% Or More Off Golf Clubs

Fore! Tee time is almost here and Amazon has golf clubs on sale at 25% off or more to get you started out on the links.

Mine is a family that golfs. I think my husband only agreed to having three kids so he would have a ready-made foursome. My two oldest kids already golf and have their own clubs and I’m sure my youngest won’t be far behind. My husband bought himself an adequate set a few years ago, but I know he’d love to upgrade or get a few new clubs here or there. He will definitely be perusing this sale at Amazon.

This Affinity OutLaw golf driver is $35 off, now only $53.93, was $89.99. Apparently this club can send your ball into orbit. Sounds cool.

If you are looking for a complete set, check out the Pinemeadow 11296 pre complete golf set with 16 pieces. With all the clubs you need for a successful day on the links, this set has glowing reviews. Said to be decent clubs, especially for beginners, although the bag may not be the best quality. Was $275, now $198.25.

Shipping is free on any orders over $25.

Amazon Canada: The Flash The Complete Series $9.99 (Was $75)

Posted by on March 14, 2014 at 10:00 PM

Amazon Canada: The Flash The Complete Series $9.99 (Was $75)

If you are a fan of the superhero genre, be sure to pick up the complete 1990′s television series “The Flash” for only $9.99 (original retail price was $74.98).

This is a six disc set that contains all 21-episodes of the very short lived run of the live-action 90′s television series “The Flash”. The set also includes the 90 minute pilot episode. I never saw this series but there are 220 reviews on Amazon.com with an average rating of 4.5/5 that can attest to its worthiness to be a part of your collection. Here is what one reviewer on Amazon Canada had to say:

The Flash Series is worth watching, some great effects, though dated now. Shipps and Pays do an outstanding job as the main characters. Shipps has a kind of wide eye innocents to his character that plays well against Pays character.
All and all its fun, and a bit cheesey at times, but after all its a comic. To bad this show did not get another season. There a number of powers that had yet to be fully explored. As well as a nice little Love interest that never really went far.
For those into superheroes its a must buy.

It is a cheap buy for hours of entertainment and a great trip down memory lane. It also makes a nice addition to any superhero collection.

Get free shipping on orders of $25 or more. I don’t know when this deal expires so the price could change at any time.

Amazon Canada: Wizard of Oz Anniversary Edition Only $15

Posted by on March 13, 2014 at 2:30 PM

Amazon Canada: Wizard of Oz Anniversary Edition Only $15

Get the 75th anniversary edition of the Wizard of Oz on Blu-Ray 3D, Blu-Ray and UltraViolet Bilingual for only $14.99, was $43.99 at Amazon.

There are different versions of the Wizard of Oz’s anniversary edition, one being the collector’s edition, which I blogged about before Christmas. This is not that collection, as it only comes with the discs. I tried to price compare and found the anniversary edition at Walmart for $80! It says it has the same items as the one on Amazon, but the price totally overwhelms me!

If you’ve never seen the Wizard of Oz, all I have to say is, “seriously???”. This movie is the classic of all classics and it was even featured at this year’s Academy Awards, so I know even the youngest of Moosers have heard of it. I saw this movie at least 50 times in my youth and my kids have all seen it too. If I had a blu-ray player, I’d love to get the 3D copy and see all those flying monkeys coming right at me. Ok, maybe I wouldn’t, those monkeys are quite creepy.

As a special feature, your discs will also include a new feature length documentary of the Making of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Almost every one of the 361 reviews of this set on Amazon give it a 5-star rating, and those who don’t, hey, what do they know?

You’ll have to spend a bit more on something else to get your shipping free as it is a $25 threshold.

Amazon Canada: Otterbox Defender Series Case Now $19.99 (Was $59.80)

Posted by on March 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM

Amazon Canada: Otterbox Defender Series Case Now $19.99 (Was $59.80)

If you are one of the millions of people that own an iPhone5, you will want to check out this deal from Amazon Canada.  You can get an Otterbox Defender series case for 67% off the regular price. It was $59.80 but is on sale at 67% off right now for just $19.99.

(The above link might show you a $30 price – just click “27 new” from $19.99, and select the $19.99 model fulfilled by Amazon)

I had just a regular iPhone case for my iPhone and it was not very durable at all.  My husband bought me the Otterbox and what a difference!  My only regret is paying so much when I could have got one for just $19.99 from Amazon.

This Otterbox is Purple in colour which suits my taste just fine.  It clips on a belt or pocket or in a bag for handy carrying so it is perfect for the gym or the office.  It also has 3-layer protection which makes it very durable.  My kids can drop my phone from up high and I am not worried about it breaking.

I know this is an incredible deal but I wanted to show everyone else it is as well so I did a little price comparison.  I found the same case at Best Buy Canada for $39.98.  I also found it at Future Shop Canada for $39.98 as well. Over at Walmart Canada it was a whopping $58.83. This is precisely the reason why it is a great idea to price match before making a purchase.

As for the cost of shipping, it will qualify for free shipping when you spend $25 or more.

Amazon Canada: Up to 42% off Greenies Dog Treats

Amazon Canada: Up to 42% off Greenies Dog Treats

Amazon Canada has put the canister size of Greenies dog treats on sale for up to 42% off for lovers of dogs, dog treats, and good oral hygiene.

The canisters are your best buy to begin with as it is generally better value to buy in bulk as you get more treats for your money. With the canisters of treats now being on sale, they are an even better deal! Here are the four canisters of Greenies you have to choose from:

I don’t have much experience with these for dogs, but my cat absolutely loves the Greenies for cats. I don’t buy them for him enough because he goes absolutely nuts over them and molests the cat treat container.

These treats are supposed to be very good for pet oral hygiene and they are approved by the Veterinary Oral Health Council.

Get free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

Note: the expiry says the 9th on Amazon but this is an error. It should say the 16th.

Amazon Canada: J Fit Fitness Gear 20% Off

Posted by on March 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM

Amazon Canada: J Fit Fitness Gear 20% Off

If you are getting fit and realize you might need more equipment than you actually have, you should look at the variety that is on sale at Amazon. Get J Fit fitness gear for 20% off.

Whether you are into pilates, yoga or the harder stuff, J Fit has a wide selection of gear.

Kettlebells are wildly popular right now and I absolutely love them! You can get a full-body workout using kettlebells, just be sure not to do them in front of anything important as I’ve seen a number of people lose control of them and watched them go flying. Let’s just say your husband won’t be too pleased with a kettlebell through the front of his big screen. This 30-pound cast iron kettlebell is over $20 off, now $56.16, was $79.99. Thirty pounds is quite heavy when it comes to kettlebell exercises, so you won’t be able to do everything with this size, so check out this 8-15lb set, which has four kettlebells included for working both sides of your body at the same time. With the smaller ones, sometimes you can double up in one hand to get a heavier weight, which saves you from buying the larger one as well.

Did you know traditional cardio is out and interval training is in? Interval training is short bursts of intense exercise and short breaks. There are many ways to do it, but I like to do my strength training with the short bursts of jump rope, jumping jacks, burpees, etc., in between to keep my heart racing. J Fit sells a speed rope and it is only $13.75, was $17.19.

My biggest fitness issue is my core and J Fit has a huge selection of items that work your core, like this 13-inch balance pod, which frightens me, but I know I need. It was $39.95, now $25.56.

I’ve also heard quite a bit about the benefits of foam rollers and there are quite a few on sale here too.

Shipping is free on orders over $25.

Amazon Canada: Zumba & Workout Gear Up To 40% Off

Posted by on March 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM

Amazon Canada: Zumba & Workout Gear Up To 40% Off

Amazon has Zumba sets and individual items, plus other fitness gear on for up to 40% off.

I tried Zumba a few times and while my friends told me how much they loved it and were certified Zumba queens, I just couldn’t get into it. I am not a terribly co-ordinated dancer, so I just felt like I wasn’t doing the steps right. Saying that, I was still hot, sweaty and had a racing heart at the end of each set, so it was still a great workout and kind of fun. The perfectionist in me just couldn’t let myself be so free as to think of this as my type of workout.

The best deal is on the Zumba Fitness Exhilarate: The Ultimate Experience DVD set. It comes with seven DVDs with music from the hottest and most beat-busting genres, and two toning sticks. It was $129.95, now $79.95.

If you want something less comprehensive, the Zumba Fitness Exhilarate Body Shaping System has four DVDs plus a bonus DVD and the toning sticks. Was $59.95, now $49.95.

If you are a baby boomer, you’ll love the Zumba Fitness Gold Live It Up DVD set. Zumba is really a great workout for older people, because you know your limits and you can go at your own pace. Was $49.95, now $39.95.

Shipping is free on orders over $25.

Amazon Canada: Subscribe & Save 15%

Posted by on March 1, 2014 at 10:30 AM

Amazon Canada: Subscribe & Save 15%

Amazon has a great new service called Subscribe & Save and we want to be the first to tell you about it. Basically, if you subscribe to receiving products you use on a regular basis, you’ll get 15% off those products and free shipping!

With every product from health, beauty, pet supplies, home and kitchen and more, if there is something you regularly stock up on, you might as well get it shipped to your house on a regular basis for free! Those “oops I forgot” moments after getting home from the store will disappear with this service. In fact, I think this is a great service for seniors who might have a hard time getting out, especially in the bad weather, and who need certain products. Never mind seniors though, I forget important items at the store on every trip, so it would also be good for frazzled mothers with toddlers.

There is no sign-up fee for this service and you can cancel at any time, which is great, because if you find a product you like better or don’t find the service working for you, you don’t have to wait out a subscription. This means there really is no risk for you at all, only benefits. You can also tailor and change the delivery schedule to what you need, so you don’t live on someone else’s idea of when you need a product.

You’ll get 15% off once you have five or more subscriptions that come on the same delivery day. Your items will only be charged once it has shipped so there is no paying ahead a year either. It is like you took the time to go online and order your item each time, except that you didn’t. And you saved money and shipping costs.

You’ll receive email reminders before your product is set to ship, just in case you forgot that you didn’t want that product, or don’t need it right at this time.

For example, garbage bags are something you undoubtedly go through on a regular basis. There is nothing worse than finding out there are no garbage bags on garbage day. Been there, gotten angry about that. I could order these Glad Easy-Tie regular outdoor garbage bags, with delivery every month, two months, three months or more, depending on what I normally go through. It looks like I’ll get 5% off the bags ordering just them, but if I look hard enough I know I could find other items that would be so beneficial being delivered on schedule to get my 15% off.

Amazon Canada: HBO First Seasons Up To 70% Off

Amazon Canada: HBO First Seasons Up To 70% Off

If I cut my cable off today, the only channel I’d truly miss would be HBO. I love HBO shows! Ever since their inception, their shows have been edgy, thought-provoking and unique. Right now you can introduce yourself to a new HBO show by getting its first season at Amazon for up to 70% off.

I’ve seen a few of the shows on this list, but there are some I’d really like to check out. My favourites that I’ve seen:

Girls - if you haven’t watched this incredibly unique and enlightening show, you are so missing out. Totes! If only I could get Marnie killed off, then the show would be perfect. You don’t want to miss Hannah’s antics and her ability to be totally true to herself.

True Blood – Sookie and Eric and Bill and Jason, oh my! This cast is full of hot vampires and the people who love them. I’ve been left crying at the end of True Blood episodes, and that is saying quite a lot.

Six Feet Under – before Dexter became a serial killer, he worked in his family’s mortuary. Ok, its not really Dexter, but the guy who played him and this show is utterly and completely amazing.

Shows I’d like to check out:

It is interesting how many of these great shows are just one word names. You have to see for yourself if you love them because nothing is given away.

Shipping is free on orders over $25.
