Lululemon Canada: Find Your Bliss Jacket Was $128 | Now $79 & Free Shipping

Lululemon Canada: Find Your Bliss Jacket Was $128 | Now $79 & Free Shipping

Lululemon Canada has just discounted the Find Your Bliss jacket from $128 down to $79 with free shipping via Fedex.

I hate falling in love with the deals I blog – but this one really has me wanting to dig out my wallet to enjoy a beautiful jacket and a great deal. First, there are three amazing colour combinations to choose from:

  • deep navy/star crushed silver fox deep navy (my favourite)
  • black/heathered slate/very light flare
  • black/regal plum

I adore that deep navy with star crushed silver fox on the opposite side. I own one Lululemon jacket and it has about the same shape as this jacket. It really enhances my chest, accentuates my waist, and curves nicely over my hips.

Let’s talk the perfect jacket. This jacket is reversible – you essentially have two different looking jackets for one price. One side has a lightweight mesh fabric that is very breathable. The other side has a light Luon fabric interior that wicks away sweat. Essentially – it is perfect to keep your body cozy but not too warm on the way to and from a good workout.

Seriously, this jacket is golden. Even more impressive, Lululemon made this jacket in all sizes from size two up to size 12. Lately I have only been seeing sizes four to 10, so I am happy this jacket has a larger size range. I am a size 12 in Lululemon, so this is important to me.

The reviews for this jacket are raving:

Ordered this at the WMTM price, great jacket overall. Thick enough to keep you warm but ventilated to keep you cool when you need it most. I love the pattern. I wear it with the pattern side out. I got it in a size 6 in the blue mystic jungle (I’m 5’4” 110) and it has room to layer.

Some reviewers find that the jacket bunches up a little when you wear the mesh side out. However, this has not been a big issue for too many reviewers as they are all singing the jacket’s praises. I would probably wear this jacket with the jersey side out, as I love the pretty pattern. I also think the large omega in the front really enhances my figure.

All orders are final sale.

Graco Little Hoot Swing By Me Was $120 | Now $68 + Free Shipping @ Walmart.ca

Graco Little Hoot Swing By Me Was $120 | Now $68 + Free Shipping @ Walmart.ca

You may know someone expecting a baby, or perhaps even be expecting a baby yourself. Either way, I found the Graco Swing to be a lifesaver during the first few months of motherhood. Right now Walmart Canada has the Graco Swing By Me – Little Hoot on clearance sale from $119.97 down to just $68. You’ll even get free shipping.

While motherhood may be the best years of your life, you will appreciate your breaks – trust me. When I needed to wash dishes or even just read a book for a few moments, I really appreciated having my trusty baby swing. This Graco Swing By Me -Little Hoot will be priceless when you need it. This swing is on clearance sale for just $68. Walmart Canada offers free shipping on all orders over $50, so you won’t have to worry about any extra costs in that area. Not to mention the little owls are so adorable.

To make sure that this is the best price you can get on this Graco Swing By Me,I did a price comparison. Have a look at what other Canadian retailers are selling this item for:

This Little Hoot Graco Swing By Me is considered a 2-in-1 swing. That means it is a portable swing that can also convert into a full size swing for your little bundle of joy. This feature makes super convenient if you travel a lot with your little one or like to move the swing from room to room within your household. It is suitable for infants up to 25 pounds, so if you’re lucky you could use it until your kiddo is around 6 months. My son grew too big very quickly unfortunately, but he is in the 98th percentile.

If baby wants to sit up or lay back, no worries. This swing has a 3 position recline. It also has a few different swing speeds so you can set it to your little one’s preferences. I also found that my Graco Swing By Me was able to fold up quite compact. I was able to fit it in the trunk of my little car for easy travel, and it was also small and simple to store within the home when not in use. When my son outgrew mine, I put it up on Kijiji for $50 and it sold rather quickly,

Kobo Books: People Magazine Royal Issues Only 99¢ Each ($5.20 Value)

Posted by on May 3, 2015 at 3:30 PM

Kobo Books: People Magazine Royal Issues Only 99¢ Each ($5.20 Value)

Kobo Books has discounted digital back issues of Royal Family issues in People Magazine. Usually, a single issue of People Magazine retails for $5.20. However, you can now purchase a selection of six royal family issues for just 99¢ each.

This is a great deal for several reasons. First, you are saving 81% off the regular retail price of single issues. As you can see here, single issues retail for $5.20 each. Even if you bought the annual subscription, $114.69 for approximately 52 issues, you are still paying over $2 per issue. This deal for the royal issues is less than half the annual subscription rate per issue.

The second reason I love this deal can be summed up in two words: royal baby. As some of you may know, Princess Kate (the Duchess of Cambridge) just had another baby! On Saturday, she gave birth to a baby girl. There is plenty of speculation as to what this child will be named… I have seen suggestions for Alice, Charlotte, and my personal favourite: Victoria.

If you have not kept up on the Royal Family’s baby news… now is the time to be caught up. Most of the back issues you can purchase cover the birth of this new baby’s big brother: Prince George. There is also a more recent issue from this January about getting ready for baby number two!

Overall, you can purchase six issues for 99¢ each:

  • January 12, 2015
  • November 3, 2014
  • July 28, 2014
  • April 21, 2014
  • September 2, 2013
  • August 12, 2013

I am not terribly interested in the Royals, but one of my best friends was born in England (and lives in Canada). I also have a friend who still lives in England so it is nice to keep up on this stuff as a conversation piece. It avoids those awkward moments when someone starts talking about the new royal baby and you go “wait… she is pregnant again?” That is sort of what I did last week… whoops!

Drop a comment below to let us know what you think the new princess’s name will be. I am voting Victoria – I think it is a safe bet and a strong female name in the royal family.

Chapters Indigo: $100 Off Frends Layla & Ella B Headphone Bundle – Now $150

Posted by on May 3, 2015 at 2:30 PM

Chapters Indigo: $100 Off Frends Layla & Ella B Headphone Bundle Now $150

Chapters Indigo Canada has bundled together the Frends Layla headphones and the Ella B earbuds. If purchased separately, then these two pieces would cost you a total of $250. Currently, the bundle is on sale for $150.

This set is gorgeous – truly a good-looking headset with quality materials. The gold gives the headset and the ear buds a warm glow. I find it very rich and stylish when paired with the white leather. The two contrast beautifully. The combination of gold and white leather really makes this headset look expensive and very feminine as well. If you care what you look like with a headset or earbuds on – then this set is for you.

Very few sellers actually carry this brand. I found the headset (in rose gold) for sale on Frends’ website: it was priced at $149.95. I also found the earbuds on sale at the Frends’ website. Originally $99.95, they are on sale for $49.95. These prices are in USD as the company is American. I also found the headset for sale at Amazon.com (US) where it retailed for $199.99. Places like Net-A-Porter have the headset for $150 USD. I could not find this set elsewhere in Canada apart from Chapters.

Frends products come with a two-year warranty to protect your product from manufacturer’s defects.

These headphones have a three-button volume mic and phone control. The cord is fabric-covered for comfort and the ear cushions are made of leather covered memory-foam for the most comfortable music experience ever. The white leather is made from lamb and the set comes with a soft carrying case to keep your headphones safe. They are compatible with most MP3 players, cell phones, and other devices.

I was a little confused as to why someone would buy both headphones and earbuds. However, they can be very useful in different circumstances. Sometimes you do not want to carry around a set pf headphones so earbuds are better – they fit right in your pocket. For longer journeys like a flight or bus ride, you may want the added noise cancellation of the headphones.

As this set costs over $25, you will receive free shipping from Chapters Indigo Canada.

NCIX.com: ADATA Premier 32GB microSDHC Memory Card Was $20 | Now $12 & Free Shipping

Posted by on May 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM

NCIX.com: ADATA Premier 32GB microSDHC Memory Card Was $20 | Now $12 & Free Shipping

NCIX.com has discounted the ADATA 32GB Premier UHS-1 CL10 Micro SDHC With Adapter from $19.99 down to $11.99 with free shipping.

I tend to watch for deals like these as many electronics in my household use expandable memory cards. My partner’s Dell Tablet uses expandable memory cards and I think his Samsung Galaxy does as well (not sure on that). The tablet uses microSD cards, as they are small enough to fit into the side of the tablet.

I use SDHC cards for my Sony DSLR camera. The camera needs a full SD card so I am glad that this memory card comes with the appropriate adapter. This adapter is also quite useful for downloading photos and uploading data onto the card. Many computers come with SD card readers that you would need the adapter to use.

There are a couple other deals on different size microSD cards that I wanted to mention. The ADATA 16GB memory card is on sale from $14.99 down to $7.99. Also, if you need a larger card, the ADATA 64GB microSDHC card is on sale from $44.99 down to $29.99. Per GB, the 32GB card is the best deal as you can see from this comparison:

  • 16 GB card: 50¢ per GB
  • 32 GB card: 37¢ per GB
  • 64 GB card: 47¢ per GB

The 32GB microSD card is certainly your best choice. All of these microSD cards are class 10.

Now, I could not price compare this exact model but I did price compare similar microSD cards at the same size. Walmart Canada sells a RetailPlus 32GB Class 10 MicroSD Card for $22.88. Best Buy Canada’s cheapest 32GB class 10 appears to be the Centon Micro 32GB for $18.98. Amazon Canada’s absolute cheapest 32GB microSD card is this no name card by BlingBlingStore on sale for $14.85.
Even comparing the ADATA microSD card to the cheapest cards of the same size – 32GB – and the same quality – Class 10 – this is the cheapest I could find one of these cards. As the card also comes with free shipping, unlike some of the competitors, you score an even better deal. You may wish to grab a couple of these in the rare case that one corrupts. I do believe ADATA offers lifetime warranties on their products.

iPad Freebie: Get Big Fish Games’ Web Of Deceit Deadly Sands Collector’s Edition FREE (Was $7) @ iTunes Store

Posted by on May 3, 2015 at 12:00 PM

iPad Freebie: Get Big Fish Games Web Of Deceit Deadly Sands Collectors Edition FREE (Was $7) @ iTunes Store

Got an iPad? Then here’s a great game from Big Fish Games for you to play for free. It’s only free for the next couple of days, after which point, it will go back up to its original price of $6.99.

As much as you can get Big Fish Games’ Web of Deceit game by clicking on the link above and then getting it through your iTunes program, you could also more simply just bust out your iPad and download it there.

Although I don’t have an iPad and can’t try this game out for myself, it certainly looks like fun, as you can see in this YouTube video. I have played other games from Big Fish Games on my iPhone before and I can tell you that they’re definitely really fun. If you need to kill time, then a free game is the best way to go! iPad Freebie: Get Big Fish Games Web Of Deceit Deadly Sands Collectors Edition FREE (Was $7) @ iTunes Store

It’s basically a story-driven game that appears to have a mystery theme as after discovering a mysterious case while visiting your uncle, you notice that people are turning up dead after disappearing for a couple of days. Just the description alone reminds me of a Harper Connelly plot (a series by Charlaine Harris), though of course, it’s a well-used plot starter as well in fiction. Your mission is to find out whole killed them by navigating through the story line.

With this Collector’s Edition, you will also receive bonus content in the form of an extra chapter, along with access to concept art and special game-related wallpapers.

Excellent time consuming

If you would prefer to give this game a try on your PC, then you can get the PC version of Web of Deceit Deadly Sands for just $2.99 (reg. $10.21) with the Big Fish Games coupon code NEW299 if it’s your first time trying out a game from their site. Here’s a review from the PC version:

This is a great game played on the one hour free – that just flew past!!! The very pleasing game where the hero detective person is a Male!

Bloomex Gardens Glitch?? $5 Coupon & Free Shipping: Choose Something Practically For Free!? *HOT*

We were recently introduced to Bloomex Gardens, an online Canadian store from the Bloomex flower company. Bloomex Gardens specialises in seeds, bulbs, veggies and perennials, everything for the aspiring gardener. We’ve also discovered a coupon code which appears to give you a $5 discount on any order, with no minimum spend. PLUS Bloomex Gardens also have free shipping with no minimum spend required – this means you can order something up to the value of $5 – almost for FREE – you just have to push the order over the $5 mark in order to get this deal working.

Click here to use the Bloomex Gardens coupon code online now

  • Coupon code: Bloom5
  • Discount: $5 off, no minimum spend
  • Expires: Unknown

We’re not sure if this is a glitch in the matrix… usually you would only get a $5 discount on orders of $5 or more, forcing you to actually spend some money. The $5 discount appears to apply to both the price of the item and the tax too… so take this into account. As far as I can see, the final total on your shopping cart has to be above ZERO after taxes are taken into account, in order to be able to complete the order with a credit card. This means you can order most of the items on the Bloomex Gardens site, for mere cents.

My Order

So I placed a test order for some of these Dahlias which were $4.49, added the coupon code and completed the checkout process. I was seeing a final price of $0.16 including taxes and free shipping. This was for an order being shipped to QC, so the final price you see will be affected by what province you are shipping to and the taxes therein.

Bloomex Gardens Glitch?? $5 Coupon & Free Shipping: Choose Something Practically For Free!? *HOT*

Multiple Uses

I only placed one order, but I didn’t see any sort of restriction in being able to place multiple orders with the same account, each using the same coupon code. Don’t abuse the offer though. If you place 100 orders, they’ll probably all be cancelled!

Use It Quick

If you are interested in bagging some nearly free seeds or bulbs, then use this coupon code as soon as you can, before Bloomex Gardens changes their mind about giving out these almost free items to their customers!

Please Comment

Let us know in the comments below if you manage to place your order and get your super-cheap garden supplies using this Bloomex Gardens coupon code.

NCIX.com: 78% Off Linksys RE1000 Wireless N Range Extender – Now Just $17 & Free Shipping!

Posted by on May 3, 2015 at 9:15 AM

NCIX.com: 78% Off Linksys RE1000 Wireless N Range Extender Now Just $17 & Free Shipping!

Internet is a rather fickle thing isn’t it? One minute it’s there and the next, poof, it’s gone and only because you stepped away into the other room. Avoid all this trouble by getting the Linksys RE1000 wireless N range extender. Originally priced at $75.98, it’s now just $16.99 – that’s 78% off!! Shipping is absolutely free as well.

A week ago, I purchased the D-Link wireless range extender at Best Buy because although my wi-fi signal is strong throughout my living room, bedrooms and bathroom, it’s absolutely crappy in the kitchen. That’s actually quite inconvenient because in the middle of cooking or baking, when I’m unsure of a recipe detail, I need to walk over to the hallway to look it up.

Unfortunetly, the D-Link just won’t work for me. Upon first buying it, I couldn’t get it to work at all and last night, I managed to get it to work in the living room. My router is in the living room though, so it’s actually quite pointless for me to have it there and it won’t work anywhere further away. Quite a hassle as you can imagine!

So the Linksys RE1000 wireless N range extender is actually a very tempting option because it’s significantly cheaper. Even Amazon.ca is currently selling it for its full price of $75.98!

The way a range extender basically works is that you plug it into a wall socket at a spot further away from your router in order to boost the signal throughout your whole house. Typically, this should work to either extend it to a further point in your home as well as reach either down or up if your home has multiple floors.

There is no mention as to the amount of meters that the Linksys RE1000 wireless N range extender promises to extend your range by but it does make a mention of having two internal MIMO antennas for extending the coverage “into hard-to-reach areas”.

Ou tof 15 customer reviews, this range extender actually a 4.2/5 stars with reviews like this one:

I ordered one of these a year ago and was really pleased with how simple it was to set up. It works well. I just purchased another one to fill out the wi-fi range in my house even more.

It boasts 2.4 GHz and a 10/100 ethernet port.

How to Save Money on Investing

Posted by on May 2, 2015 at 8:00 PM

How to Save Money on Investing

It’s already hard enough saving money and budgeting for a rainy day and for retirement – we also need to start thinking about saving money on investing.  Isn’t investing itself good enough?

Well, not all investments are made equal, actually.

I used to pay very high mutual fund fees and got knocked down even more and lost even more money with the 2008 financial market crash.  I learned the hard way that even though you are investing, the rate of return and the cost to invest matters because it definitely erodes your future nest egg over time.

Unfortunately the problem is that the first encounter with investing is usually with our bank that we bank with.  The mutual fund advisors at the bank get paid for selling you mutual funds (especially the bank’s mutual funds).

Mutual Funds Can Have Invisible Costs

This helpful article by Investopedia shows you how mutual fund fees are broken down.  Mostly, not only are you charged a fee when you purchase the mutual fund, you are also charged an annual fee which of course, eats into your investment returns and makes the average return seem less dazzling.

This helpful infographic from visual.ly helps you see that even with a small difference in mutual fund costs and fees, such as 0.09% for a very low fee index fund and 2.25% for a higher fee index fund (which is still not that high compared to some usual funds that charge about 3.5% in annual fees), that if you opted for the lower fee mutual fund- by the time you get to retirement, you will have $123,000+ more to play around with.  The remarkable thing about that is that it is only a little over 2% difference.  Imagine what a 3% difference will make!

Change Is Ahead

Very soon, according to The Globe and Mail, just like with the credit card disclosure statement that breaks your credit card debt down to how long it will take you (e.g., 14 years) to pay off that $400 credit card bill if you pay the bare minimum of $10 monthly, you will soon see a breakdown of how much your mutual fund is costing you.

This is going to be a game changer because more and more people will likely opt for lower cost investing, after they see how much their high fees are costing them.

The Solution: Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) or Index Funds

Exchange Traded Funds “ETFs” are quickly becoming more and more popular.  These are passively managed funds (meaning no one actively tries to time the market and buy and sell funds within the fund).  Here’s a link to a Globe and Mail article explaining the difference between mutual funds and exchange traded funds if you are curious.

Check out Canadian Couch Potato, it provides couch potato investing by Dan Bortolotti for more information on exchange traded funds and how to choose a portfolio (and a low cost portfolio at that) that fits you best.

Alternately, you could look into the TD e-series funds or Tangerine Bank’s Investment Funds (formerly ING Direct), which all have a low Management Expense Ratio of 1.07% as of writing.  Some of the funds within the TD e-series funds have management expense ratios as low as 0.33% (which they claim are one of the lowest in the industry).

The benefit to choosing a TD e-series funds or a something like Tangerine Bank’s investment funds is that you can contribute regularly (for example, on a monthly basis) without having to pay commission fees.  For some brokerages you have to pay a fee to purchase exchange traded funds.

Personally I am a big fan of funds where I can just contribute on a monthly basis without having to think too much.  This way you contribute regularly to the fund and so whether the market does bad or does good, it doesn’t matter as much because you will be buying high and also buying low.

Hopefully these tips will help you start thinking about how to save money on your investing.  After all, it is our hard earned dollars that we have saved up and of course you want to make sure it isn’t wasted on fees.   No one cares more about your hard earned money than you do!

Bargainmoosers, how do you save money on investing?

Tigerlily BBQ II Jacket Was $130 | Now $65 + FS On $99 @ Bench Canada

Posted by on May 2, 2015 at 6:00 PM

Tigerlily BBQ II Jacket Was $130 | Now $65 + FS On $99 @ Bench Canada

When someone tells me they have bought a new Bench jacket, the original BBQ Jacket is what I picture. The BBQ Jacket from Bench Canada has to be their top seller. While they can be quite costly at around $130 at regular price, you can also find them on sale once in a while. Right now the Tigerlily (orange) BBQ II Jacket is on sale from $130 down to $64.99 at Bench.ca.

Ever wondered why this popular apparel item is named after a BBQ? Bench Canada prints the fabric to feature a grill mark appearance. Kind of silly right? This jacket has become so popular, on rainy days or during slightly cooler weather you are bound to spot some people wearing these. While they may have spent the whopping $130 regular price, you can buy your BBQ II Jacket on sale for just $64.99 and nobody will be able to tell the difference.

There are other colours available if orange isn’t what you were looking for, but unfortunately the prices are a tiny bit higher. The cerise option is gorgeous and just a few dollars more if you were looking to snag two of these jackets for your collection. Here are the other sale options available for the BBQ II Jacket at Bench.ca:

The BBQ II Jacket from Bench Canada has lots of awesome features. Rain? No problem. I know from experience that this jacket is water-proof. I got stuck in the pouring rain waiting for a bus while wearing mine. If you’re worried about the rain or wind ruining your hair style, just pull out the fold-able hood from the collar. Be warned though, it never goes back quite the same. The zippered pockets are great if you are prone to losing your phone or change like I am, and who can miss the large Bench logo embroidered across the back of the neck? Lots of people wear these jackets with the collar popped to show off this logo.

You’ll even get free shipping on your order if you spend $99 or more. I am considering throwing two of these jackets in my cart. One for my mom as a gift and one for myself. Then my total will be over $99 and I won’t have to worry about paying the regular shipping & handling fee which is $9.95.

In-Stores May 3rd: LEGO Star Wars Wookiee Gunship Make & Take Event FREE @ Toys R Us Canada

Posted by on May 2, 2015 at 5:00 PM

In Stores May 3rd: LEGO Star Wars Wookiee Gunship Make & Take Event FREE @ Toys R Us Canada

Freebie time! On Sunday, May 3rd, Toys R Us is hosting a LEGO Star Wars Wookiee gunship make and take event starting at 11am until 1pm. This event is in-stores only.

Toys R Us’ description of this event is actually slightly confusing because in the title, they state: “May The 4th Be With You!” but it’s actually being held on May 3rd. So don’t miss it by thinking it’s Monday when it’s actually this Sunday.

For those of you who don’t know, the reason they incorporated “May The 4th Be With You” into the promotion of this event is because May 4th is the official Star Wars holiday. Don’t expect to get a day off work but it’s still a cool tidbit to know, especially if there’s a huge a Star Wars fan at your office. In case you’re wondering why May 4th was selected as the official date, it’s because of the famous: “May The Force Be With You” slogan.

With regards to Toys R Us’ event, it’s for children ages from 4 to 14 years. Children will be showed how to make a LEGO Star Wars Wookiee gunship, which they will then be allowed to take home with them — yay freebie!

Given that this event is scheduled from 11am until 1pm, it would be my assumption that you could arrive any time within that time frame for your child to learn how to make the Wookiee gunship, especially since only one model is being given per child and it’s only while quantities last. Calling your local Toys R Us store to confirm the details would definitely be a good idea, especially to make sure that it is indeed being held at your store before pumping up your child (or children) for it), especially if you can’t get there in time for the beginning of the event. This could definitely make for a great outing, especially if you invite your child’s friends.

Keep in mind that this event won’t be held at Toys r Us Cedarbrae Mall and Express stores.

Tuango Coupon Code: 15% Discount on Anything!

Tuango Coupon Code: 15% Discount on Anything!

We haven’t yet written about Tuango.ca, the QC bsaed deals site, so I thought I’d introduce them with this coupon code for 15% off any offer. Tuango kind of reminds me of WagJag for Quebec, which is where they are focused, but they do have deals for all of Canada.

Click here to shop @ Tuango.ca now

  • Coupon Code: BLOG15
  • Discount: 15% off
  • Expiry: 3rd May 2015

If you do live in Quebec or Ottawa, you can choose your city at the top left corner of the page. If you live outside of Quebec, choose elsewhere in Canada. While I live in Ontario, I think its great that there is a deals site like this for Quebec, as they seem to get the shaft on so many deals. But, because I live in Ontario, I want a piece of that pie too, so I’m glad they have deals I can take part in as well.

With summer coming, I am very interested in this deal for Yves Saint Laurent sunglasses. Regularly $299.99, they are on sale for at Tuango for $109.99, but after you enter in the 15% off coupon code, they come down to $91 ($18 off). Searching the net for YSL sunglasses, I found that they regularly sell for around $300. I didn’t see one set for less than $180, which was the lowest price I could find and I don’t know if that included shipping as well. There are six different models of these gorgeous glasses to choose from too, and you can have up to five pairs. They also come with a Yves Saint Laurent case. Shipping is $10 for this product.

Another great deal I see on Tuango’s site is on this Reebok 2-piece bag set. It comes with a 23″ duffel bag and Team Sports gym bag (drawstring) for only $22.99 plus $8 shipping. After adding the coupon, the total for this set comes down to $18.34 plus shipping. There are four colours of bag to choose from and it has everything you need to go to the gym. I think I’m going to buy this for my son who is in karate for all his sparring gear. It might also be great for myself as I like to swim and the drawstring bag would be good for my wet clothing and towel. Amazon sells just the duffel bag for $34.99 through a secondary seller.

Feel free to use the coupon for any other deal on the site as well.

NOTE: We have posted previous codes for Tuango in our coupon pages but we’ve rarely seen a generic coupon code for 15% site-wide, that anyone can use. We’re on their consumer mailing list and they *sometimes* send us 20% coupon codes, but they’re one-time use and not sharable anyway. The 15% coupon above is usable by anyone. Smart Buy Glasses has some great options for specs on a budget. I looked at the less expensive frames on the site and had a large range of choices for men, women and kids. Sort by price, shape, or choose other features in the left-hand side menu to choose the perfect pair of frames to hold your newly discounted lens.

Lenses

The cost of your lenses are going to vary depending on the type of lenses you need, but our coupon code can help you out. This code covers prescription lenses only, it does not cover reading glasses. Some frames come with free basic lenses and a few frames also have a plastic lens option for $29. The next step available on almost all frames is the $59 lenses with a lighter and thinner -1.61 index lens that many people prefer. With our coupon code, you will save $14.75, making your total for lenses $44.25.

Price Comparison

I took a look at what some of the other companies online were offering for prices on their lenses. Clearly Contacts offers two lens packages when you click on a pair of frames. The less expensive package is the -1.61 index lens and is being offered on sale for $49.95. Contact Lens Club offers a slightly thicker 1.59 index lens in their lens packages options. The menu is a bit confusing as they do not include all of the prices while you are choosing, but the cheapest combo I could manage was $65.00. A thinner lens would be more expensive. These prices only go up if you have a specialty prescription such as an astigmatism like I have.

Frames

My husband has been saying he needs glasses for a while so I took a look at the budget frames for him. If I was picking out a pair for him, I would grab the SmartBuy Collection Aidan 206 E for $45.95. These frames are made of metal and have a nice colour that will blend nicely with his hair. If he ends up needing reading glasses which are not prescription, the lenses would be free with this frame. With a pair of thin ultra-thin prescription lenses, his total came to $90.20 with frames and the lenses.

Warranty and Exchange

Smart Buy Glasses offers a great return and warranty policy. Your glasses will have a full 24-month warranty against all manufacturer defects. In addition, you have a full 100 days to return the glasses in unused condition. I have not shopped online for my glasses before, but this guarantee has me considering it for my next pair.

Try Them On

If you are still deciding on a set of frames, you may want to look to the left side of the screen at the “virtual try on” option. This option is available for some frames and allows you to use your webcam to get a better idea of how these glasses look on you. My favourite furball will model a pair for you below.

Freebies

Smart Buy Glasses also throws a couple of freebies into your cart valued at $25. You will receive a free cleaning cloth, a bottle of lens cleaner and an optical screwdriver. The screwdriver will come in very handy for tightening up your frames as they loosen slowly with time. Those tiny screwdrivers also work well for fixing and changing the batteries on kids toys and electronics in a pinch. I keep one of these screwdrivers in my car.

It is worth going on the site and seeing the options. I like the prices I am seeing on here much better than my doctors office. I think for my next pair of glasses I will be heading online.
