It is an amazing display. Plasmas are really only good in rooms with low light pollution though. Mine is in the basement, so it's perfect. If your parents are planing on keeping it in a room with a lot of natural light then I would recommend an LED or LCD. I love my Panasonic plasma. It is an amazing display.
