Disney World: Free Dining Plans With Magic Your Way Package

Posted by on September 9, 2014 at 7:00 PM

Disney World: Free Dining Plans With Magic Your Way PackageThis deal couldn’t come at a better time for me as I’m on the search for an affordable family vacation over the winter to give as a Christmas gift. You do have to travel by December 23rd, but I know that is doable for us, so this is perfect. Bascially you’ll book your hotel and theme park tickets (Magic Your Way package) and you’ll get a free dining plan based on your level of accommodations.

Basically, you need to book a 6 day/7 night package at regular price and you’ll get your dining plan free. If you choose a value resort, you’ll get the quick service dining plan. If you choose a moderate resort hotel, deluxe resort hotel or deluxe villa resort hotel you’ll get the regular dining plan free. There are a few differences between the plans.

The regular plan gives you one quick service meal, one snack and one table service meal per day. It sounds like its up to you to decide when you want to sit down and have a meal and when you want to do something quick. I know with my kids, middle of the day is a much better time to sit down and eat as once they get tired, keeping them wrangled up does not work.

If you are a family who doesn’t enjoy any sit-down meals with your kids, or you want to save some money, the quick service option could be for you. Getting a value resort with the quick service dining option would definitely be your most cost-effective way of seeing Disney. It includes two quick service meals and one snack per day. It sounds like you get the same amount of food with both plans.

I love travelling a the beginning of December as the weather isn’t too horrible yet and I find it isn’t a time when a lot of people go away because they are too worried about getting ready for the holidays.

Not having to worry about paying for your food while you are riding rides, watching shows and generally just having a blast with your family is seriously priceless. I had considered renting a house while visiting Disney but do I really want to clean up after everyone and make them all dinner and breakfast each day on my holidays? Doesn’t sound fun.

Travelocity Coupon Code For $25 Off $99 Hotel Booking Via The App!

Posted by on September 6, 2014 at 5:30 PM

Travelocity Coupon Code For $25 Off $99 Hotel Booking Via The App!

Apps are everywhere now… apps for timing your labor contractions, apps for tracking the distance you run, apps for entertaining you on the loo! But apps can also save you money… such as the deal below which you can get via the Travelocity app. If you use this coupon code on their app, you can instantly get a $25 discount on your first hotel booking of $99 or more.

Click here for more info about the app @ Travelocity.ca

  • Coupon Code: Mobile25
  • Discount: $25 off $99
  • Expires: 31st December 2014

There is a huge chunk of terms and conditions on the above page, and I am not going to paste them all in to this blog post. The main one is that you have to use this coupon code on your first hotel booking before the 31st of December 2014. They do say that the coupon code is applicable to “qualifying hotels” so it could be the case that it’s not valid on every single location.

If you were planning a short trip… or even just a single night away as a treat, this could be an ideal coupon code to make use of. Just stick in the dates of your choice and test the above coupon code to see if you can score the extra $25 off.

I’ve not actually used Travelocity before… am I the only one? There are so many online hotel portals now and I tend to go for the same ones again and again (Priceline, Hotwire, Orbitz, Hotels.com). Sometimes I find that the deals are very similar… although the “name your own price” feature on Priceline really stands out from the crowd. But with the likes of the $25 coupon code above for Travelocity, you could choose a named hotel and get a great price, without the worry about not knowing which hotel you’re going to get.

Lonely Planet Coupon Code: Free eBook with Guidebook Purchase

Posted by on August 20, 2014 at 10:30 PM

Lonely Planet Coupon Code: Free eBook with Guidebook Purchase

Lonely Planet has released a new coupon code. Purchase a guidebook and receive any ebook for free.

Click here to shop @ Lonely Planet now

  • Coupon Code: EBOOKFREE
  • Discount: free eBook with book purchase
  • Expiry: 22nd August 2014

Choose any print book and any eBook. Add both copies to your cart and then apply the coupon code. It will take off the cost off the eBook. This is, essentially, a two for one deal that can come in handy if you are traveling to a couple different places this coming year.

When we go anywhere truly exotic, we like to pick up the travel books. It really improves the quality of our trip and we use the guidebook to ensure we are not missing any big attractions during our stay. If you are traveling to Iceland, I suggest picking up the physical copy of the travel guide. A lot of the country is wild so you might not want to be carting your tablet around with the eBook version. The Iceland Travel Guide retails for $25.99 USD. It is probably my favourite place that we have traveled to so far. The air was incredibly clean and the weather was absolutely perfect (we went in May). There was so much to do and see as well. I loved hiking up a glacier, snorkeling the rift, and caving in volcano tubes.

Second on my list of favourite places that I have visited is New Zealand. They have amazing foliage, beautiful beaches including black sand (which is so soft on your feet), and one of the most volcanically active surfaces in the world: Rotarua. It is an incredible place to visit and I would love to go back. Well, except for the horribly long flight. Pick up the eBook version of the New Zealand Travel Travel Guide. The eBook retails for $19.59 USD, but you will receive it free with the above coupon code.

I am all about experiencing new things, but I had such fun in these places that I really want to go back. I feel like I can do so much more in these beautiful countries.

Lonely Planet offers free shipping on orders over US$40.  I found that my order was still free as long as the original price was over $40, even if the coupon brought it under that.

Check the Bargainmoose forums for more Lonely Planet coupons that you might find useful.

WestJet Canada: Seat Sale, Today Only

Posted by on July 27, 2014 at 2:00 PM

WestJet Canada: Seat Sale, Today Only

If you are like me and have family living in different provinces, you may be on the hunt for a good seat sale.  Right now at WestJet Canada, they have a seat sale happening with flight deals within Canada.

To get these deals, you must book by the end of the day today and travel between September 2nd 2014 until February 10th 2015. Naturally, there are some black out dates with this sale, as follows: October 9th to 14th, 2014 and December 16th, 2014 to January 5th, 2015.  Basically, they are during the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Here is a look at some of the seat sale prices you will see:

  • Victoria to Calgary $161.83
  • Toronto to Moncton $157.21
  • Vancouver to Prince George $146.08
  • Regina to Calgary $161.83
  • Calgary to Kelowna $134.53
  • Toronto to Quebec City $152.69

There are no coupons to get any of these deals, and there will be extra taxes and fees charged on top just like any ticket would have. All of the fares posted above are based on a one way ticket. I also love the fact that all of the major airports and cities are included with this deal. A lot of the time, deals like this will just be for select flights from the huge airports such as Toronto. Having such a better selection is a big bonus for traveling.

I love sales like this because normally, the seat sales are for outside of Canada.  I have never figured out why we get charged more to fly inside of Canada than outside.

This is the perfect opportunity to grab a ticket for a low price to make a visit to see friends and family.  I actually have family in two different provinces, so the only way my family of four can travel by plane is with a seat sale like this one. If you figure you are saving even $100 per ticket, that is $400 each way for a family of four being saved.  It doesn’t get much better than that!

Atlantis Summer Sale: Rates From $99 + Airfare & Meal Credits

Posted by on July 25, 2014 at 10:30 AM

Atlantis Summer Sale: Rates From $99 + Airfare & Meal Credits

Atlantis is having a summer sale that ends today, with really hot deals that will have you wanting to travel there now.

Atlantis is on my travel bucket list as a place I want to take my kids. If I had the money in the bank today, I would be booking a trip there for us for the fall. I’ve been to Paradise Island in the Bahamas and walked some of the grounds at Atlantis, and it is absolutely amazing. While it isn’t a traditional all-inclusive (and honestly, the food is quite expensive especially since you are paying for every meal) I’m going to say it is worth it.

There are two deals; one is for traveling this summer and one is for travel in the fall. The summer sale includes rates for the last week of August at $99 a night and for the rest of July and August at $179 a night. The fall sale has rates from September to December at only $99 a night! There are some blackout dates, but not many. This is for staying in the Beach Tower, and for double occupancy, so I’m going to assume if you add kids, the charges will be a little more.

On top of those great rates, you’ll also get $200 instant airfare credit when your stay is four nights or more. When I went to the Bahamas, I paid for my flight separate and it was only $300 each. This means if you can find flight deals like this, for two people you’ll be paying $400 for flights and $400 for four nights accommodation. For $800 you’ll get there and stay, which is pretty amazing.

It doesn’t stop there. There is also a free wine and dine pass with $150 in free food at the various restaurants at Atlantis. I really want to try Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill! You’ll also get free unlimited water park access, which is about $139 per person per day and quite the savings. You could literally just go for the $800, spend all your time in the waterpark, get your free food, and spend another few hundred on more food and make this a vacation costing less than $1500 for two people.

Air Canada Vacations: Las Vegas For Only $340

Posted by on July 10, 2014 at 12:00 PM

Air Canada Vacations: Las Vegas For Only $340

Looking for a cheap vacation? Air Canada Vacations has a some very hot deals on trips to Vegas that start at only $340. This includes your flight, hotel and all taxes and fees! You just need to pay for your food, drinks and activities (except the ones included in this package!).

Not only do you get hotel and flight included in this package, there are some other perks added. First, you’ll get to choose your seats free. You’ll also get free round-trip transportation to your hotel. On top of this, you’ll get free access to the Maple Leaf Lounge, which is a huge bonus, as this is worth about $25 a person and as our own Mooser Anna has used it a few times in Toronto, she says it is great. You get complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, along with televisions, free WIFI, quiet zones and more. This saves you from sitting in a restaurant, paying $20 or more for a meal just so you have a spot to sit. I’m not done with the perks yet. You’ll also get a free tour to Laughlin, 2-for-1 helicopter, airplane and bus tours and priority check-in and late checkout.

Sounds awesome, doesn’t it? Now, the bad parts. I’ve heard Vegas is stifling hot in the summer. But, it is the desert, what else would you expect. All of the hotels and bars are air conditioned, so ignore the heat. Sit in the hotel’s pool with a drink all day. For less than $350, you can’t do that here for more than two days! The other is that this flight is with Air Canada Rouge, which I’ve heard is notorious for not being a fun airline to fly with. Apparently there is very little legroom, no WIFI and no televisions, but to this I say “whateves”. Your flight is just a small part of your vacation and I’m sure for the savings you are getting you can handle it for the four or so hours you are on the plane!

Expedia Canada: 3-Night Getaways For $249 Or Less

Expedia Canada: 3 Night Getaways For $249 Or Less

Do you have big travel plans this summer?  Need some help figuring out where to go and/or where to lay your weary travelling head?  Look no further than Expedia.ca for 3-night getaways for $249 or less.

Choose from a long list of destinations, both within Canada and abroad for anywhere from this week to five weeks from now.  Some of the more popular destinations available within this promotion are Las Vegas, Orlando, Niagara Falls and Paris, so there is a deal to please every kind of traveller.

Has a summer girl’s trip been on your mind?  Check out this deal:  Save 45% from August 8th to August 11th at the Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.  The 3-night hotel deal is only $93!  This hotel is reviewed at 3.7 out of 5 or 87%.  Stay about a mile off the strip at this hotel with a 2-level casino, a bingo parlour, outdoor pool and 2 on-site restaurants.

Thinking of taking the family to Niagara Falls, but want to do it on the cheap?    You can save 10% at Niagara Lodge & Suites  with a 3-night deal for $240.  Now I’ll be honest, this isn’t the prettiest hotel I’ve seen, but I know when I go to Niagara Falls, we are very busy seeing all the sights both in the falls area as well as Niagara-on-the-Lake, so we are just in the hotel for sleep.  I prefer to keep my accommodation costs low in Niagara Falls so that I can spend a little more enjoying all the attractions, so this deal helps with that.

If you have some frequent flyer miles burning a hole in your pocket, maybe you would like to check out the 3-night deals in New York or Paris!  There are some good deals to California as well.  I don’t know when these 3-night deals from Expedia.ca will end, so I suggest booking asap.

Cheapoair Canada Coupon Code: Get $15 Instant Discount

Cheapoair Canada Coupon Code: Get $15 Instant Discount

While there may only be a very limited number of airlines in Canada from which to choose from when booking your travel arrangements, there are actually many, many travel sites from which you can sometimes find a better price than booking direct with the airlines. Cheapoair.ca is one such site and I wanted to let you know about this promo code for a little extra saving on your airline costs.

Click here to use the Cheapoair.ca coupon code online

  • Coupon code: CA15
  • Discount: $15 off
  • Expires: Unknown

When I was price checking some flights and trying a promo code (which had actually expired), the above coupon code helpfully popped up instead, giving a $15 discount. I am unsure of the exact terms and conditions or the expiry date on the coupon code, but it’s worth a try if you’re making a booking with Cheapoair anyway.

Price Comparison

Just to show you the kind of different prices you can get – I am going to price compare a return flight from Toronto to Winnipeg (a route I have to regularly take for business reasons), from the 31st July to the 3rd of August 2014. On the Air Canada website, the cheapest total price for this flight comes to $478.53. A similar flight on the same day via Westjet comes to $512.43.

On Cheapoair, there was a booking bonus on going through checkout, as well as the above $15 coupon code, so the final price of a Toronto-Winnipeg flight on the above mentioned dates was coming to $446.37 (via Air Canada, nonetheless). That’s about $32 cheaper than the actual prices on Air Canada’s own website.

Conclusion

My main takeaway from this article is that you shouldn’t always just head straight to Westjet or Air Canada when you want to book a flight. Check out the prices on other companies like Cheapoair and make sure to combine the good prices with our Cheapoair coupon code from our coupon forums, for even more savings. There are more coupon codes on there for different types of savings. As Cheapoair also covers hotels and car rentals, you could check out the prices for those things too, if you’re planning a vacation.

Porter Airlines Canada: Up To 50% Off Fares, Taxes & Fees Included!

Posted by on June 26, 2014 at 8:30 AM

Porter Airlines Canada: Up To 50% Off Fares, Taxes & Fees Included!

Porter Airlines has an incredible deal that you will need to get by the end of the day today.  Save up to 50% on flights, and the taxes and fees are already included in the prices of these deals.

You will find fares as low as just $99 one way which is pretty incredible. You must book by the end of the day today, but you have up until November 5th to actually use the tickets for travel.  That means you can use them over Thanksgiving to visit friends and family for the holiday. There are blackout dates from October 10-13th, but you can always travel the day before that or the day after that, so you can still have your Thanksgiving holiday.

Here is a look at a few of the flight deals right now:

  • Toronto to Windsor or Sudbury – $99
  • Sudbury to Toronto- $100
  • Ottawa to Halifax – $172
  • Mont Tremblant to Boston, Washington or Chicago – $213
  • Halifax to St Johns- $160

All of the prices listed above are for one way tickets, but there are many more combinations for tickets you can purchase and save on.  I like the fact that they have included some US cities with this deal because a lot of people like to fly there for vacation or for family visits.

Additionally, the taxes and fees are already included in the prices listed above.  That is pretty unusual, for prices to be that low with the fees and taxes included, because those things alone can be well over $99 in my experience.

If you are in the province of Ontario, you are very lucky because Porter flies from a ton of Ontario locations.  I have heard that they will be expanding out west here soon and I can’t wait to get these deals when they do!

Air Canada: Save $330 per Couple to Mexico & Caribbean

Air Canada: Save $330 per Couple to Mexico & Caribbean

I don’t care what time of year it is, if there is an incredible deal that will allow me to go to Mexico or the Caribbean, I am making sure I check it out.  Right now over at Air Canada, they have a great deal that will save you on you travel to both Mexico or the Caribbean.  Save $330 per couple for just a few short days.

Saving $330 per couple is basically the equivalent to saving the cost of all the taxes or even more than that.

Some of the beautiful places you can travel to are places like Antigua, Turks and Caicos, Cancun and Punta Cana.  In fact, if you are traveling from Toronto, there are over 300 different package deals in total to choose from.

This deal will work for departures from 14 of Canada’s top airports and lucky me, Calgary is included! One deal in particular that caught my eye was the Calgary to Los Cabos deal for $434.36 plus $366.71 for taxes. That is for 7 night and they have a promotion to give you a $50 hotel credit as well. Not a bad deal at all!

Almost all of the deals are all inclusive, which is perfect because you wont need to worry about anything when you are down there costing extra.  All inclusive is the only way my husband and I will vacation now.

You will be able to get this deal for new bookings only and on select packages.  Valid for travel from June 1 and completed by Oct. 31, 2014. We sometimes get snow here in Alberta in October to heading to Mexico or somewhere else hot would be perfect!  There is a minimum of a 3 night stay but lets face it, who goes to somewhere hot and only stays 3 nights!  You can stay up to 14 nights total which is much more what I would be wanting to do.

Travel Zoo Canada: $79 Toronto Hotel With 14 Days of Parking

Posted by on June 23, 2014 at 2:30 PM

Travel Zoo Canada: $79 Toronto Hotel With 14 Days of Parking

Get a hotel room by the Toronto airport, plus 14 days of free parking and breakfast for only $79!

If you are going away this summer or sometime in the future (for some reason I don’t see an expiry date!), this is a great deal for you. Parking at the airport is notoriously expensive. I’ve flown out of Pearson airport a number of times, trying both the park right at the airport way and the satellite lot with shuttle way. Both ways were expensive and the second option was also very time consuming. Waiting to get a shuttle back after a long flight proved treacherous, and even though it came every 30 minutes and my friend and I were the first in line, the shuttle went a little past us, the crowd rushed to get on and we didn’t get a spot! We ended up paying a taxi $25 to take us to the parking lot, which forfeited any savings we had made parking farther away. I was not too happy about this.

When I got married and was flying to Jamaica, it was January and I had a two-hour drive to the airport for an early flight. On my mind was that there would be a snow storm or an accident blocking the highway, essentially making me miss my wedding. Before you go thinking I’m paranoid, this actually happened to me on another trip where I got on the plane right before they closed the doors after sitting on the 401 for over two hours waiting for an accident at my exit to be cleared on a beautiful summer Sunday morning. I even tried to convince my friend to park her car on the side of the highway and we’d hop the fence and get a taxi but she refused. Luckily we just made the flight because it was on this vacation where I met my husband-to-be!

Anyway, take it easy, stay the night in the hotel, get up leisurely and have breakfast and let the complimentary shuttle take you over to the airport, while your car sits for free in their parking lot. The hotel is the Hotel Indigo, and it looks like the regular cost of this deal is $254, so this is quite the savings no matter how you look at it.

Hotels.com Coupon Codes: $50 Off $300 & $75 Off $500

Posted by on June 19, 2014 at 1:30 PM

Hotels.com Coupon Codes: $50 Off $300 & $75 Off $500

Book your summer stays now and save with these Hotel.com coupons. You’ll get $50 off your $300 booking or $75 off your $500 booking with the below promo codes.

Click here to book @ Hotels.com now

  • Coupon Code: OCANADA
  • Discount: $50 off $300
  • Coupon Code: REDNWHITE
  • Discount: $75 off $500
  • Expiry: 1st July 2014

You’ll have to book by Canada Day but you have until the end of this year to travel. There are quite a few exclusions for this coupon, so take a look at this list before you try and book. Even with these inclusions, I was able to find a number of hotels that suited my taste and budget that the promo code was eligible with.

I am taking off a couple of weeks this summer to spend with the family and because camping wasn’t all it was cracked up to be last year, I think we’ll get a hotel at a resort this year for a few days. This coupon works perfectly for me at the Deerhurst Resort. It has quite a few amenities like three outdoor swimming pools, an indoor pool, golf course and even a children’s pool. One night in the summer is about $299, which is quite steep, so by getting $75 off of two nights, that really helps.

Toronto is also somewhere we typically visit in the summer, what with so much to do like Centre Island, the CN Tower, Ripley’s Aquarium and just because Toronto is so fantastic. I find hotels in the Toronto area go up in the summer, so getting a discount from Hotels.com eases that pain. We have typically stayed at the Westin Harbour Castle, but unfortunately, they are on the exclusion list.

You don’t just have to travel in Canada either, you can use this promo code for a number of hotels worldwide, and with such a long booking time, you can use it for your summer, fall and winter vacations.

Before booking any vacation, stop by the Bargainmoose forum for more Hotels.com coupons.
