Kobobooks Coupon Code: 25% off Select Books

Posted by Avigayil Morris on May 19, 2012 at 10:00 AM

Kobobooks Coupon Code: 25% off Select Books

Kobobooks Canada has another coupon code just in time for long weekend reading. You can get 25% off a single book purchase.

    • Discount: 25% off
    • Coupon Code: VICTORIADAY2012
    • Expiry: 21st, May 2012

They make it very clear this time that the coupon code applies to books from this list right here.

One of the books that you can use this coupon on is The Hunter by Theresa Meyers. I know of this book because a friend of mine, Mike Perschon mentioned the book on his blog Steampunk Scholar, you can read the review there. Here is an excerpt of his review:

The Hunter‘s cover misleads those seeking out steampunk that’s a little dirty, and by dirty I mean steamy. The Hunter, in addition to being steampunk, is paranormal romance. About a succubus. Perhaps appealing to Cowboys and Aliens fans didn’t involve a red-headed devil-lady bursting out of her corset on the cover (much to my disappointment). However, given the level of steam Myers generates in The Hunter, an image of a red-headed devil-lady on the cover might have given me fair warning.

The book is only $4.79 and after the coupon comes down to a mere $3.59.

Sears Canada: Free Shipping on $100 + $20 e-Cash Card Back with $75 Purchase

Posted by Avigayil Morris on May 19, 2012 at 9:00 AM

Sears Canada: Free Shipping on $100 + $20 e Cash Card Back with $75 Purchase

So this is a double deal from Sears Canada. When you spend $100 or more get free shipping for items that are less than 65 lbs from Sears Canada. Also this weekend when you spend $75 or more on apparel, accessories & home decor you will receive a $20 e-cash card.

Now there is a LOT of fine print to this deal, and it is important that you read it so you don’t suddenly go “hey, where is my card!”

    Exclusions for the $20 e-card:

Limit one E-Cash Card per transaction. Excludes items with prices ending in .94, .88 and .97, footwear, window coverings, bedding and bath products, home furnishings, lighting, lawn, garden, kitchen, small appliances, clocks, seasonal dècor, rugs, bathroom mirrors, jewellery, cosmetics, fragrances, etc.

The other important stuff you need to know is that it isn’t valid in store or on the Sears Outlet. Also, E-Cash Cards will be emailed to you no earlier than May 28 to the email address provided at checkout. Redeemable on purchases of $75 or more on Sears.ca from May 28-June 3, 2012.

Now, for that free shipping on $100 or more offer, the following rules apply:

Regular shipping fees still apply to large/heavy items. You will be advised of any shipping costs when you order. Large/heavy items are considered as follows: item length must not exceed 78.74 in., item length plus girth must not exceed 118.11 in., item weight must not exceed 65 lbs. Does not include pre-paid or COD orders. Excludes locations with remote shipping charges.

So now we got the fine print out of the way. I am really disappointed the footwear is not included, I have been wanting to get the husband a pair of shoes for a bit. However, the good news is that this weekend Sears is having a Long Weekends Sale that you can access through that link right there.

    Deals expire 21st, May 2012

    Bluenotes Canada: 2 for $10 T-Shirts + Free Shipping

Posted by Avigayil Morris on May 19, 2012 at 8:00 AM

Bluenotes Canada: 2 for $10 T Shirts + Free Shipping

Bluenotes Canada has the ultimate stock up and save event on shirts right now. It is 2 for $10 event, and both men and women’s shirts are included

I just wouldn’t know which shirts to pick! I like the Girl’s Rib Tank in 6 different colours, but the Girl’s Ribbed Racerback Tank comes in 9 different colours, and would show off the butterfly on my back better. Either way it is just $10 for 2 shirts, should stock up!

For the hubby I already know my favourite top: the Guy’s V-Neck T available in 5 different colours. I totally love v-necks. My husband likes striped so I would probably have to drag him away from the Guy’s Short Sleeve Tri-Rugby Striped tops.

On top of it all they are offering FREE SHIPPING till Monday, no coupon or minimum needed. That means you can pick up as few or as many shirts as you want and no worries about shipping.

Thanks to Crafty for posting about the 2 for $10 deal on the hot deals forum.

Expiry: Free shipping expires 21st, May 2012

Posted by Avigayil Morris on May 18, 2012 at 8:00 PM

MBNA: Earn Up to 35,000 Bonus More Rewards Points With More Credit Card

So I never like to encourage people to have credit cards after I have seen how family and friends of mine have abused theirs. However, since being on my own I have learned that if you choose the right credit card it can work for you, instead of against you. Save-On-Foods has teamed up with MBNA to offer you a credit card with NO ANNUAL FEE, and a bonus 35,000 More Points.

Why this deal is a deal:

    • There is NO annual fee
    • You get 25,000 rewards on your first qualifying purchase

You also get a bonus 10,000 rewards if you spend $3,500 CAN in the first 6 months.

    Terms:

Earn 3 points for every $1 in qualifying net retail purchases everywhere you shop using your More Rewards credit card.  Earn up to 4 points for every $1 in qualifying net retail purchases when you shop at Save-On-Foods, Overwaite Foods, Cooper’s Foods, PriceSmart Foods or Urban Fare stores using your More Rewards credit card and Save-On-More loyalty card together

Remember: Credit cards can work for you if you follow a few basic rules:

    • Never use your card to pay for stuff you can’t afford
    • Always pay off your entire credit card each month to avoid interest charges

I was just at Save-On-Foods like 20 minutes ago loading up on some sale treats. They have a whole bunch of opportunities to spend points and get things for free. Or you can save your points and get things from their catalogue.

Bench Canada Family & Friends Sale (30% Off)

Posted by admin on May 18, 2012 at 6:00 PM

Bench Canada Family & Friends Sale (30% Off)

Bench Canada are having a Family & Friends Sale, with 30% off everything (both online and in store), including already reduced items.  What a great offer – a sale on a sale!

The Bench sale began on the 17th and runs to the 21st of May…midnight. When you add something to your cart, you can see the discount automatically at checkout. If you’re shopping online, there is free standard shipping with purchase of $99 or more. There are no refunds or exchanges for this event so check your sizing.

I love dresses and this store really had me whirling over theirs.  Which dress do I like best?  With so many different easy-to-wear designs, it was difficult to choose, so I decided to start with the Secret dress, already discounted to $59.99 from $125 with two colors to choose from; Safari & dark ink.  I then added the Bradie Knitwear jacket for those cooler summer days.  It’s discounted to $69.99 from $199, already.  Remember, this doesn’t include the 30% sale discount at the checkout!  As for me, on these two items alone, I would save a total of $234.01.

And if you’re in a Bench store on a Saturday, enter to win a $150 shopping spree – just ask for details in store.

Gelaskins Coupon Code Exclusive: 10% Off

Posted by Avigayil Morris on May 18, 2012 at 12:00 PM

Gelaskins Coupon Code Exclusive: 10% Off

I am really excited about this Bargainmoose exclusive Gelaskin coupon code! I LOVE Gelaskins – those beautiful stick on and removable protectors for your electronics. I love how they display my own sense of style: they are on my laptop, iPads and PS3 controllers!

    • Discount: 10% off
    • Coupon Code: BARGAINMOOSE10
    • Expiry: 17th, June 2012

I actually took a picture of my gorgeous Gelaskins on my devices, and you can see them in the picture above! In case you didn’t know, you can create your own Gelaskin for the same price of the lovely artistic ones they have. Both the PS3 controllers pictured above have custom skins. The skin on the left iPad is from a webcomic I read, Looking for Group. The Gelaskin on my Macbook Pro is Yuuta by Camilla D’Errico (a Canadian Artist), which you can get for many different devices. The one on the right side iPad is called The Golden Mean by Nathan Spoor. I LOVE all his work and wish I could just get a book with it all in it.

But do they work? Yes. Something ran into my laptop and left a huge dent/scratch in the Gelaskin and I was so scared I had marked up my Macbook. When I peeled back the skin, there wasn’t a mark, a scratch, or a dent. Love these!

    Patriot 32GB MicroSD Card for $31 (!!!) at Amazon.ca (75% off)

Posted by Shawn McGuire on May 18, 2012 at 7:00 AM

    Patriot 32GB MicroSD Card for $31 (!!!) at Amazon.ca (75% off)

This card will help you easily expand your smart phone, tablet or camera and because we here at Bargainmoose love you, you don’t have to pay $99. We’ve got the hookups to get this bad boy to you for $30.99!

Sooo… Yeah… Not much to talk about here… It’s a memory card. You can use it to store digital stuff on… It’s stores stuff very well… Oh, it comes with a MicroSD-to-SD converter so you can use an SD card reader to transfer your data. It also meets Amazon’s $25 limit and thus gets free shipping.

Ok, time for more learning children! These cards are Class 10. The classes indicate how fast the card can write data. The SD Card Association has come up with a genius way of of naming the classes. Stay with me here, it’s very, very complex. A class 2 card has a minimum write speed of 2MB/s. A class 4 has a minimum write speed of 4 MB/s. I’d tell you how fast a Class 6 and Class 10 card can write data but I don’t want to spoil the surprise.  These guidelines are just that, guidelines.

These classes are not verified by any experts so anyone can put class 10 on any card, regardless of write speed so you are going to want to buy your SD cards from a good company. Just stay away from “Uncle Jim’s Downstairs SD Card Emporium and Manufactory” and you should be good.

The next time I find an SD card deal I’ll teach you how SD cards work! Won’t that be fun!?

    Double Discount! Seagate 2TB Hard Drive for $99.99 ($20 savings) @ TigerDirect.ca

Posted by Shawn McGuire on May 17, 2012 at 4:00 PM

    Double Discount! Seagate 2TB Hard Drive for $99.99 ($20 savings) @ TigerDirect.ca

    Here’s an eco-friendly 2TB HDD from Seagate, with a wallet-friendly price from Bargainmoose. It’s down from $119.99 to $99.99.

The deal is $15 off plus another $5 discount for using the Tiger Direct coupon code WIND61390 at checkout.

Oh, the green movement. How you’ve come to take over the world! Good for you, green movement. Other than the great price on this drive, its big selling point is that it is a “green” hard drive. Here are the details on the greenness of this drive straight from Seagate.

    • Up to 20% faster than other eco-friendly internal hard drives
    • Up to 44% less power consumption than standard desktop drives
    • Optimized performance with available 64MB cache and SATA 6Gb/s interface
    • SmartAlign™ technology for easy migration to the new Advanced Form at 4K sector standard

Not much to talk about other than those points I just outlined. One thing to keep in mind is that, even though they play it down, this drive will not perform as well as non “green” drives. If a super high performance drive is what you want, you might not want this. Its primary use would just be to store files as opposed to running  applications or an operating system. That being said, the ordinary user will not notice a massive difference between this drive and a faster one.

Regarding shipping, it should be pretty reasonable, showed as $6 for me.

As far as the deal itself, I chose to post this because of the floods in Thailand which caused hard drive shortages and huge price jumps recently. A $100 hard drive, while not an amazing deal on the face, will have an effect on anyone who has been hard drive shopping in the past months, since they would have seen much higher prices. It is more of a deal based on psychological perception of price as opposed to more common “wow, what’s an amazing deal” deal which evokes a more visceral reaction. I’m a deal philosopher!
