Marble Slab Canada Freebie: BOGO Ice Cream Cones – July 20th Only

Posted by on July 19, 2014 at 10:00 PM

Marble Slab Canada Freebie: BOGO Ice Cream Cones July 20th Only

What do you have planned tomorrow? Whatever it is, you better make sure to swing by a Marble Slab store as well because they’re hosting a BOGO event on all cones! Stop by any Marble Slab between 11am and 2pm on Sunday, July 20th 2014, to take advantage of a “buy one, get one free” deal on all ice cream cones.

Although it’s a BOGO deal, this promotion only extends to the regular size for the free cone. This means that you need to get either a regular or larger sized ice cream cone in order to get a second one of regular size for free.

Marble Slab’s promotion is actually in celebration of both Ice Cream Day and Ice Cream Month. As it turns out, President Reagan proclaimed the month of July to be national ice cream month with the third Sunday being national ice cream day and since Marble Slab was founded in Houston, Texas, this promotion makes total sense.

Although there are no Marble Slab stores where I live, I’m still super excited about Marble Slab’s offer for all of you who can enjoy it, especially since it features unlimited mix-ins. I’m a huge fan of Dairy Queen and have been getting a chocolate extreme blizzard a little too frequently this summer but the charge for extra ingredients is definitely a big turn-off.

At Marble Slab though, you can choose among 20 different mixins to add to your ice cream cone like bananas, brownie bits, Butterfinger, chocolate chips, cookie dough, Oreo cookies, sparkles, etc. Heck, you can even add strawberries!

Be sure to also snap a picture of your cone and hashtag it #MSCHappyHour to be entered to win 1 of 2 $10 gift cards. It may not be the best contest prize ever but it’s still better than nothing, especially since it’s a super easy one to fulfill!

Did you know that Bargainmoose’s forum is frequently updated with all of Marble Slab’s latest printable coupons? Be sure to sign up to get all of their coupons delivered straight to your inbox as soon as they are released. In fact, Marble Slab frequently makes coupons available for discounts on ice cream cones, ice cream cakes, smoothies and many others.

Moosers, what is your favourite flavour of ice cream at Marble Slab? And which mixins do you choose?

Extreme Pita Canada: Free Purfresh Beverages Sampling Event July 17th

Posted by on July 16, 2014 at 6:00 PM

Extreme Pita Canada: Free Purfresh Beverages Sampling Event July 17th

There is a pretty cool freebie event happening tomorrow at one of my favourite places to buy lunch. Extreme Pita announced on their Facebook page that they will be giving free samples of the Purfresh Beverages tomorrow July 17th, from 2pm – 4pm.

Here is how this freebie deal event will work. Head in to one of the participating locations listed above on the link above, and between the times of 2pm and 4pm tomorrow, you will get to try out their Purfresh drinks with no purchase necessary. This is actually the first time they are doing this free sampling event so it should be great! It looks like they will have a few different samples of these drinks for us to try out.

I love Extreme Pita because it is fast food, but it is healthy fast food.  There is a huge difference between the two.  I get lunch or dinner quick and easy for my family there and not have to worry about feeding my family garbage, high fat, high sodium and high calories for their meal.  They are one of the only places that have the calories listed for you plain and simple so you know what you are getting without have to ask or look for it.

If you have yet to try the food at Extreme Pita, you are truly missing out.  My absolute favourite lunch would have to be their grilled chicken pita. A small is just 241 calories and the regular is still only 366 calories.  They are delicious and very filling.  You can tell them what ingredients you want in it as well.  This is perfect for a picky eater like me who is fairly specific on how I like my food.

One of the other bonuses to eating at Extreme Pita is that instead of regular greasy french fries with your pita, they have homemade pita chips.  The pita chips are so good! They come in a variety of flavours and are a must to add to your lunch if you have yet to try them.  My go-to flavour would be either the original or the chili and lime. When I go there with my husband or a friend, we each get a different kind with our meal and then share them so we get more than one flavour.

Domino’s Pizza Coupon: Order Online & Get 50% Off All Pizzas

Posted by on July 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM

Dominos Pizza Coupon: Order Online & Get 50% Off All Pizzas

It’s not often that we will write about online food deals, but this time is a little different. Domino’s Pizza has a fantastic new coupon code out that will save you a bundle of money on your take out or delivery orders.  Save 50% on all pizzas no matter the size until July 20th when you order online.

Click here to order @ Dominos.ca now

  • Coupon Code: CAG5014
  • Discount: 50% off
  • Expiry: 20th July 2014

One of the reasons why we don’t normally write about these online food deals is because normally, they are very specific.  For example, you can get this pizza for this amount but you have to get this size and order between this time on a Monday night.  There are normally so many exclusions and requirements that even if it is a good deal, it would really only appeal to a few readers.

This time around, it is 50% off every single pizza, every single size, any time from open until close on any day of the week until July 20th.  You can get as many toppings as you would like, orders as many as you would like and get any pizza including the make your own ones all for the 50% off.  It really doesn’t get any better than that!

A coupon like this can be used a couple of different ways.  For myself, it is the perfect opportunity to be a hero to my family and order pizza for dinner one night.  I can order extra (or everyone’s favourites) because it won’t cost me what it normally would without the coupon.  The second way you could go about this is be a hero in the workplace or for a sports team or gathering.  You will be able to pay half the price it would normally cost you to buy a bunch of pizzas for a big group.  You can get a variety of different pizzas such as plain cheese, specialties and even one with a ton of toppings for someone that loves it loaded up and they will all be 50% off.   It is a win win situation whether you go big and buy 10 pizzas or just get one or two for your family!

You will find this Domino’s coupon, along with a few other posted up on the Bargainmoose coupon forum.  You best bet is to look through and see which coupon will get you the best discount. Chances are, it will be the one I just mentioned.

What toppings do you like on your pizza Moosers?

Starbucks Canada: Treat Receipt Promotion – $2 Grande Iced Beverage After 2PM With Your Morning Receipt

Posted by on July 15, 2014 at 9:30 AM

Starbucks Canada: Treat Receipt Promotion $2 Grande Iced Beverage After 2PM With Your Morning Receipt

Starbucks Canada has brought back a very popular promotion for a limited time only. They call it their Treat Receipt Promotion and it has been a hit in the past.  You will be able to get any Grande Iced Beverage for just $2 after 2 PM when you present your morning receipt.

This $2 grande beverage deal will work for both morning beverage or a breakfast item so you won’t have to buy just a beverage in the morning to get the deal in the afternoon.  Additionally, you don’t need to return to the exact same Starbucks to cash in on the $2 deal.  You can head into one in the morning and go to a completely different one in the after noon for your $2 Grande iced beverage.  The only condition is that you bring your receipt with you to show proof of morning purchase.

This deal was announced on Twitter yesterday through a Tweet from Starbucks Canada.  It is so popular, people have been re-tweeting it all day now with “Thank Yous” and telling Starbucks that their day has been made with this awesome deal back on.

Now I am not someone who would go to Starbucks two times a day but I know many people who do this all the time.  They head in for their morning coffee and treat and go back for an afternoon pick me up.  This deal is perfect for those types of people.

The grande is 16 oz and there will be a limit of one deal per person per day.  You will have almost a month until this deal is done though, so there is plenty of chances to take advantage.

I am looking to try out the new Teavana Shaken Iced Blackberry Mojito Tea Lemonade. I know others are looking forward to getting a Frappuccino because they are probably the most expensive iced beverage that Starbucks offers at over $5 for the regular price. Of course, any extras like an extra shot of espresso would also be an added charge, but considering you can save up to around $3 for just one drink alone (without any extras) you might not mind paying to upgrade with some extras!

As an added bonus, if you are a Starbucks member, you will still be able to collect your stars on your $2 beverage!

What is your favourite iced beverage Moosers?

Second Cup Canada: Latte Tuesdays

Posted by on July 14, 2014 at 4:00 PM

Second Cup Canada: Latte Tuesdays

Second Cup has some special drink deals on for the summer. One of the best is Latte Tuesday, where you can pick up a regular or iced latte for less.

On Tuesday, you can purchase a medium latte for only $2.95 in Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia, or a large for only $3.49 in the rest of the country. Oddly enough, this drink deal and the other drink promotions all exclude Calgary.

You can choose from the iced or hot cappuccino, café latte, any flavoured latte, and any tea latte for your drink. Original prices vary depending on which drink you pick. However, with this selection you can certainly get a different drink each week and probably never have to repeat your order, unless you wanted to. I would be happy with an iced cappuccino right now as the forecast for today is above 30 degrees yet again.

There will be other drink promotions going on throughout the summer. I am not much of a coffee drinker, though I make exceptions for iced coffees, so I am primarily interested in this second promotion. The Frrrozen White Hot Chocolate  is for chocolate lovers anywhere. It is a blend of white chocolate, milk, and ice for the perfect summer treat. Until the 21st of July, you can pick up a medium at participating locations for just $3.49. Again, this drink offer excludes Calgary. Now this is the drink for me. One of my favourite drinks in the world is second Cup’s frozen hot chocolate, which is essentially the milk chocolate version of this drink. Usually I am not one for white chocolate, but Second Cup’s white hot chocolate also ranks among my favourite drinks so I am very optimistic that this drink will taste fantastic. I actually have a lot of experience with Second Cup drinks because I lived half a block from one for several years and use to go there during the heat of the summer to take advantage of their air conditioning and the wonderful reading atmosphere.

There should be a new summer drink special come the 22nd of July that will replace the Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, but Latte Tuesdays will continue throughout the summer. Drink specials like these are a great way to still enjoy yourself, yet cut down on your summer spending. Drinks can easily cost $5+ these days, so save a few dollars and go with the special.

David’s Tea Canada: Free Tea For Kids On Sunday!

Posted by on July 12, 2014 at 8:00 AM

Davids Tea Canada: Free Tea For Kids On Sunday!

Head to a David’s Tea store this Sunday and your kids can get their tea on! All kids under 12 get a free tea. Yippee!

I’ve been trying to get my kids to drink tea for a while now. They guzzle the juice I buy them, which is full of sugar and pretty much nothing else, even though I buy the organic, 100% fruit juice. It gets expensive and I worry about their teeth and all the extra sugar they really don’t need. Tea, on the other hand is healthy and while not completely inexpensive, probably cheaper than juice. They love Nestea iced tea, which is of course full of sugar, so I didn’t think the switch would be this hard. But, I think taking them to David’s Tea this week, where they’ll be served a free tea might make them open their minds a little. And, if they try it and don’t want it, yay, free tea for me!

This isn’t just any tea, either. With flavours like magic dragon, cotton candy, root beer float and cherry snocone, the kids are bound to love them!

I noticed this really cute kids’ iced tea mug, which, if your kids happen to love the tea they try, you could get to make drinking tea even cooler for them. I love the little lemon guy on the side as it is childish, but mature enough that my older kids would use this cup.

Imagine days of sitting on your porch swing, drinking iced tea with your kids. I can’t wait for Sunday!

Groupon Canada Promo Code: 10% Off Local Food & Drink Deals

Groupon Canada Promo Code: 10% Off Local Food & Drink Deals

Groupon has the perfect coupon to get your weekend started right. Get 10% off local food and drink deals. While 10% is not a huge amount, these deals are already deeply discounted, so you are really just getting an added bonus.

Click here to shop for food & drink deals @ Groupon.com now

  • Coupon Code: EAT10
  • Discount: 10% off
  • Expiry: 12th July 2014

I want to show you examples of how you’ll save, but with local deals, they are different for every city. So, I’ll give you some examples of deals in different cities, but be sure to check out your own city.

I recently moved from London, Ontario and notice that they have a deal on Marble Slab, which just so happens to be my favourite ice cream place. For $20 (with a regular price of $39.90), you’ll get two key lime or butter pecan pies or one picnic pack. Add the coupon and you’ll pay only $18. I’m going to assume this deal is available in a lot of the other cities on Groupon.

Toronto has 117 food and drink deals. I am now living in closer proximity to Toronto and will probably go there at least a few times a year to go out to eat. While Sugartiers is actually located in Markham, I couldn’t resist checking out this deal for one dozen assorted macarons or cake pops. For $19, with a regular price of $42, you’ll get your sugar fix for only $15.20! Sweet!

There are so many food deals available, with everything from Poutine to fine dining to cupcake to Indian. I think I could get all of the Groupons. And really, I could. There is no limit to how many Groupons you buy with this coupon, so why not stock up and try a new restaurant every Friday night. It forces you to go out, try something new (or get a great deal on an old favourite). If I could eat for a living, I would, but I write instead and that’s second best.

What restaurants should I try out Bargainmoosers?

Check for more Groupon promo codes in the forum.

Tasteaway Canada Promo Code: 40% Off Takeout or Delivery

Posted by on July 9, 2014 at 7:00 PM

Tasteaway Canada Promo Code: 40% Off Takeout or Delivery

Ordering out food is something that we all do at one time or another but it can get quite pricey if you do it all the time.  We have a new coupon code for Tasteaway Canada that will save you a whopping 40% on your take out or delivery orders for just a couple of days only.

Click here to order @ Tasteaway.com now

  • Coupon Code: TA974EBC42
  • Discount: 40% off
  • Expiry: 10th July 2014

If you are unfamiliar with Tasteaway Canada, I will let you know a little bit about them.  They are online and you can order takeout or delivery food orders through them from a variety of different restaurants in the Greater Toronto areas. You can find a huge variety of different kinds of food such as Italian, sushi, pizza, Chinese, Indian and many more delicious foods.

The best part is, you don’t have to choose just one type of food or one restaurant to order from.  You can actually order from as many at a time as you would like and get it all delivered. This is perfect for families like mine that have picky children or favourites for each family member.  I would always prefer Chinese food and my husband loves pizza.  If we were to order through Tasteaway, we could get both and we would both be happy!

There is a maximum of $200 for your order. I don’t know about you but I don’t think I have ever ordered $200 worth of food for take out or delivery before, so to me this maximum order does not really matter.  Even if you are ordering for a work function or something, saving 40% on $200 is a savings of $80 off bringing your total down to just $120.  That is a pretty crazy deal! Imagine how many pizzas that amount of money could buy! My guess is even with the max, you would have more than enough to feed a big group.

Tasteaway is offered in the GTA area only. I know many of our Moosers live out that way so this is a great coupon to take advantage of if you live there.

For all other Tasteaway coupons, you will find them posted on the Bargainmoose coupon forum. We pretty much get at least one a week so make sure to check the forum before you order online to save some extra money for your wallet!

Starbucks Canada: BOGO Free Sugar Cookies

Posted by on July 8, 2014 at 5:30 PM

Starbucks Canada: BOGO Free Sugar Cookies

Starbucks Canada has just announced a great offer they are having through their twitter account.  Head into your local Starbucks Canada and you will be able to get their summer sugar cookies on sale when you buy one, you get one free.

Starbucks sent out a tweet about this deal but they have yet to mention when it  will end, so really, it could end at any time.  It is best to head in sooner rather than later to get the deal if you are hungry!

This year, there are three different sugar cookies to choose from.  You can choose an ice cream cone shape, a flower or a soccer ball.  All of them will, of course, taste the same except for the icing on them, but it is kind of fun that you can choose based on your interests or personality.

Each Starbucks summer sugar cookie is 350 calories, so if you were to  eat them both yourself, that is a pretty big snack.  This is the perfect deal to split with a friend or coworker so you are also splitting the calories!

If there is an issue with getting your free cookie, just make sure to mention the tweet that Starbucks sent out to honour this deal. The deal was tweeted about yesterday just after lunch and they haven’t updated their website to reflect the deal yet but it is for sure on and will be honoured.

Sugar cookies are by far my favourite cookies. I’ll take them over chocolate chip, chocolate or really any other cookie. My kids aren’t picky when it comes to cookies, so they’ll love going to Starbucks and getting cookies, which is the perfect way to break up a boring summer day (and a cheap way too!)

East Side Marios Canada: 4 Can Dine For $25

East Side Marios Canada: 4 Can Dine For $25

East Side Marios is celebrating 25 years in business and with this celebration, they are offering all of their customers a great deal: four can dine for $25 for a limited time only, plus some other great deals.

There is no need for a printable coupon to get this deal and it will be offered at all locations.

I have a family of four and I can’t remember the last time the four of us could head into any restaurant (including a fast food place) and get a great meal for $25. Normally, my family of four costs us on average $10 a person, bringing our bill to about $40 plus tip.  Saving $15 on our entire bill would be a huge bonus for us!

With this $25 meal for four it will include a few different things. You will get the all you can eat garlic loaf, all you can eat salad or soup, and you will also get a classic pepperoni pizza.  If you are like my family, you will most likely fill up on the all you can eat items first and then barely have room enough to finish the whole pizza.  We could actually end up with leftovers with this deal! I can’t tell you how many times that has happened to us because the salad and garlic loaf were so good.

If you are looking for something to go with this meal, they are also offering $1 desserts, and $5 beer, sangria and wine.  They also have another deal that is a two can dine for $25 as well, but by far the best deal is the one that I mentioned above.

Mandarin Canada: Free Buffet On Canada Day

Posted by on June 30, 2014 at 9:30 AM

Mandarin Canada: Free Buffet On Canada Day

Tomorrow, head on in to any Mandarin location and get yourself a free buffet dinner to celebrate Canada’s birthday!

To get your free meal, you must be a citizen of Canada and be able to provide proof with your birth certificate, passport or citizenship card. If your immediate family member works there, you are also out of luck, as these people are not eligible. You are going to have to wait in line to get in, as there are no reservations and from what I’ve seen in previous years, the line gets long. Everyone who is in your party must wait in the line, so this includes your rangy kids and your elderly grandmother. I’d suggest bringing fold-up chairs and electronic devices for the wait.

You can’t go in and fill up a take-out box either, you have to sit and eat there, which is totally cool, as you’ll get full-service including all non-alcoholic drinks free. Tips are not included so since you are getting this free and you know your server will be driven mad that day, leave them a nice big tip to thank them for working on such a nice day on our Canadian holiday.

I actually do like Mandarin although I have never taken my kids there except when one was in my belly at nine months pregnant and I absolutely had to have Chinese buffet. My kids love buffets with all their choices and this is a family-friendly restaurant.

Bargainmoosers, let me know in the comments below if you are going to brave the line-ups to get some free meals. Have you ever been to their Canada Day free buffet before and do you have any tips for others?

Starbucks Canada: Shaken Iced Teas 50% Off June 26, 2-5pm Only

Posted by on June 25, 2014 at 12:30 PM

Starbucks Canada: Shaken Iced Teas 50% Off June 26, 2 5pm Only

If you are looking to cool off in this hot summer weather we have been having, then you will want to head into your local Starbucks tomorrow.  Tomorrow June 26th, from 2-5pm only, you will be able to save 50% on the new Shaken Iced Teas at Starbucks stores across Canada.

You will be able to enjoy any of the shaken iced tea flavours for half of the regular price tomorrow afternoon from 2pm-5pm.  The size that you will get with this deal is the Grande which is 16 fl.oz.

There are five different flavours to choose from. You can get the Blackberry Mojito Tea Lemonade, Peach Green Tea Lemonade, Passion Tango Tea, Green Tea, and Black Tea lemonade. I drink green tea every day so the new peach green tea lemonade sticks out for me to try tomorrow. The blackberry also looks pretty good so I may pick up one for myself and my husband so I can try both flavours!

As an added bonus, it looks like you can get as many as you would like half off tomorrow.  It is the perfect time to head in and be the office hero by buying a bunch of the iced teas for your coworkers and save 50% on each and every one of them.

If you are looking for more of a healthier option with these iced teas, the black tea lemonade is just 200 calories for the Tall size which means it is slightly more for the Grande that is on sale. It is your best option for something with a lower calorie content. If you are just having one, that is not that bad considering how many calories can be in some pops, shakes and other iced teas.

(Valid June 26th 2-5pm only)
