(BUMP) For the many years that Bargainmoose has been in operation, we have been getting more and more emails from people commenting that they are receiving expired deals in their daily Bargainmoose email updates. I want to do a quick post to tell you a bit more about this issue.
If you ONLY read Bargainmoose via the email update, you’re going to miss out on some of the best offers! We can only send the email out once every 24 hours, so no matter when in the day we choose to send it, you’re going to miss out on some of the short-lived bargains. For example yesterday, Best Buy had a one day only deal on their Macbooks and iMacs, or the Batman plushie from Walmart the other day, which only lasted a few hours. We’ve been seeing a lot of super-hot short term deals, which don’t last very long.
So we suggest you stop by the Bargainmoose website a few times a day to see if there are any good deals to snap up, rather than relying solely on the daily emails. If you ONLY read the emails, you will probably miss out!
Hey Moosers! Guess what? Did you know that Bargainmoose is SIX years old this week!? I can’t believe it’s been on the go for six whole years… that’s a long time in internet-land.
We’ve had some awesome deals and freebies down the years, and we also love to give things back to our loyal Moosers too. So tomorrow, we’ll be staring our Irish themed birthday contest. We’re going to be giving away FOUR iPad Minis over the course of the next 8 days, maybe even some short-term surprise contests too. Whoop!
Come back and see us each day, if you want to win!
Hi all! For those of you who are dedicated readers of our daily email digests here on Bargainmoose, I want to apologise! We were having some troubles with our provider, and it’s just accidentally sent out a blank email and our weekly newsletter is running a day late. Ooopsie! I wanted to apologise and tell you that we should be back on track now and you’ll be getting the proper email shortly. And, if you’re not subscribed and wish to get some sweet deals to your inbox every day, then please sign up here. Thanks!
*** Poll now closed ***
We’ve got a little survey happening here, and I am asking the Moosers to spare one minute to fill in your responses please!
The survey is about Valentine’s Day shopping, and we will be awarding one of the participants with a $50 Amazon.ca gift voucher. There are only a few questions and it shouldn’t take long to fill in. Please help us out! Thanks all!
It’s Boxing Day! Whoop! Over the last week or so, the sales have really been heating up with tons of offers from top Canadian brands. Even compared to last year, it seems busier than ever, and it’s great time to buy. And as I am sure you know by now, we’re trying to keep track of all the hottest offers on our Boxing Day deals dashboard.
There are thousands of deals on there, from hundreds of stores. Many deals might be for today only so have a look now. Here are a few examples of current deals:
There are soooooooooo many more deals though. I’ve only mentioned a few.
Reminder for people subscriber to the Bargainmoose daily emails: the newsletter is only sent out once every 24 hours. Some deals only last for a very short time and may be expired by the time you see them in the newsletter. Check out the site often throughout the day to make sure you don’t miss out!
It’s the Eve of Christmas Eve here on Bargainmoose, and we’re seeing a massive increase in the amount of Boxing Day sales information coming in, day by day. Even compared to last year, we’re seeing so much more info as more and more retailers are offering Boxing Day promotions. We are trying to keep track of all the best deals here on Bargainmoose, and this is a little post to explain our Boxing Day dashboard, linked above at the top right.
First of all if you look here on our hot deals section, you can see a reverse chronological listing of ALL deals posted on the Bargainmoose forums. From these deals, any that have Boxing Day content automatically feed in to our main Boxing Day dashboard, where you can see the main offers at a glance. From the dashboard, all the following pages can be accessed, but this is just to show you the kind of information available:
Then, on the bottom half of the dashboard is a list of deals, which you can sort by newest, temperature, or hot:
Lastly, we have our Boxing Day coupons section which keeps track of any mentions of Boxing Day in our coupon section.
There are many more deals out there than we can actually fit here on the front page of our blog. So, it is worth having a good browse of all the items above and seeing if anything catches your eye.
Here are a few highlights of things I am seeing at the moment:
Upcoming Boxing Day electronics deals:
Current Boxing Day footwear deals & coupons:
More To Come!
It’s only the 23rd of December today, and we’ve already had a couple of hundred posts tagged with Boxing Day Sales in our Boxing dashboard! There are literally thousands more deals to come over the coming week, so please feel free to bookmark our dashboard and check back often. And if you spot a hot Boxing Day deal yourself, please tell us about it.
Happy shopping Moosers!
Good afternoon Moosers! If you’re on Bargainmoose reading this blog post just now, you might notice that there’s a bit of a change on site. We’ve going through a small redesign and tinkering with a few things on site. You’ll see that our header has been spruced up a bit, and there’s a new search box up there to make it easier to find things on site. We previously had three separate searches for each section of the site, but we’ve combined them in to one box.
If you want to use the search box to find the latest coupons for a particular store, just type the first few letters of the store name and you should see it appear in the dropdown like this:
We’re rolling out some changes over the next few weeks, so you will probably notice some other small improvements on site.
If you happen to spot any issues or problems, feel free to leave a comment below or hit the contact us link at the bottom of the page. Thanks!
Today, the 9th December 2013 is our 3rd annual No Minimum Monday shopping event! We’ve been mentioning it here on Bargainmoose over the last few weeks, and it has finally arrived. We’ve put together a load of Canadian stores who will offer you completely free shipping with no minimum spend – many of them for TODAY only. This is the perfect time to catch up on your Christmas shopping, without having to worry about shipping fees.
Throughout the day, the Bargainmoose authors will be blogging a few of the individual deals to highlight the best offers, but make sure you head to the main page linked above to see all the different deals. We’re adding more coupons through the morning as well…. Some deals aren’t yet active. Check back through the day!
Here on Bargainmoose, we’ve been banging on about Black Friday for the last week or more, and I hope some of you have scored some bargains in the shopping event this weekend. But Cyber Monday is
coming tomorrow ON TODAY – an even bigger shopping day (for the online shoppers anyway)! For your interest, on Bargainmoose last year, we were busier on site on Cyber Monday than on Black Friday. It seems more Moosers were hunting for bargains and trying to sort out their Christmas gift shopping before too much of December had crept past.
As you know, we’re hunting down all the best deals for you, and they’re being aggregated here on our Cyber Monday dashboard. Check that page often as we’ll be adding all the new sales and updating the info as soon as we have it.
P.S. For the many thousands of you who are subscribed to our fabulous Bargainmoose daily email updates, please read this post. If you rely on reading the daily emails in the mornings rather than reading the info directly on the Bargainmoose blog, you might miss out on some of the short-lived offers.
Happy Cyber Monday!
The Canadian Black Friday deals are coming in thick and fast this week! We’ve upped our blog content a little bit, so you’re seeing a few extra deals each day with more Black Friday information, and this increased output will continue through the weekend. There are SO many deals out there, and we’re trying to find the best of the bunch for you to read.
In addition to the awesome curated content on our Bargainmoose blog, there is our famous Black Friday dashboard upon which we are showing ALL the Canadian Black Friday deals we can find, content coming from our hot deals forums. I’d recommend that you bookmark our Black Friday dashboard and check back often for the hottest deals.
Keep in mind that we will be starting to fill out the information on our Cyber Monday dashboard soon too. Check it out over the weekend for even more hot offers.
Now, even though Black Friday
doesn’t start until tomorrow is starting now, we’ve already seen that some excellent offers have already started. For example:
Check out all the Black Friday coupons here, this page moves quite fast and we only show the latest coupons on it. We don’t have the space to blog every single coupon we find, so you might stumble on some more interesting deals in there. E.g. An extra 50% off sale items @ Forever21, free shipping @ Snapfish.ca, 40% off @ Canvaspop, and TONS more.
We’ve mentioned Black Friday deals week @ Amazon.ca a few times – the deals are changing every day and there are some super offers in there with free shipping.
Chapters just started their online Black Friday sale today and there are so many deals we couldn’t even fit them all into this one blog post. Highlights are shown there, but it’d be a good idea to have a browse there for potential Christmas gifts.
BUMP for new eyes!
Hey Moosers! Just wanted to let you know that things are really starting to heat up for the holiday shopping, with many retailers even starting pre-Black Friday deals in the last week or so! We’ve got some new deal-hunting Moosers helping out on our deals forums, trying to spot the hottest offers as they happen.
You can see a small number of the latest deals on the chalkboard at the top right of the blog home page, but you’ll have to click through to the forum to see many more. I’ve been keeping an eye on these deals, and sometimes the hottest ones expire within an hour!
The team is keeping an eye out for hot items which could be great Christmas gifts, so maybe you could have a look in out hot deals forum for inspiration.
Hi all! I am just doing a bit of research into shopping habits, and could really do with a little help from the Moosers please! There’s a quick poll below about your shopping habits on Boxing Week last year – could you please spare a few seconds and vote? Thanks Moosers!
Happy Thanksgiving Day Moosers!! It is that time of year when we all gather around the table and enjoy turkey, stuffing, potatoes and pumpkin pie. Then go for a nap. However, Thanksgiving isn’t just about the food, it is also about being thankful for what we have. So from all of us at the Bargainmoose to all of our lovely readers: thank you. Thank you for reading our posts, for giving your feedback, for enjoying our deals, and for not dumping us the second something doesn’t work right!
It is pretty simple to get caught up in the daily grind, which tends to favour all the things that go wrong in a day over all the things that go right. About a month ago I started a running list simply called ‘The Good Things’ where I write down the good things that happen each day. It may be only one or two significantly positive events, but I feel they needed to be committed to memory so I didn’t forget the good when the bad got overwhelming. Some days I would miss a good deal or I wrote up a blog post and the deal ended right before it got published, and it could completely ruin my day! But once I started the good things list I could see how even on those days there was something to be thankful for. Perhaps I got a wonderful comment from a Mooser about the money they saved using a coupon I posted. It is in the small things that I think I am most thankful.
What are some of the things you are thankful for this Thanksgiving Day? Share in the comments below!
Just a little off-topic post to share something Bargainmoose is involved in.
Mooser Michelle Montford (top left) is competitive curler from Manitoba, skip of Team Montford. She works as a web developer and devotes all of her spare time to curling. She was born and raised in a curling family, and has been playing since the age of four. Her father, Eric Montford, is a renowned icemaker, who makes ice at some of the major championships, including the Olympics in Vancouver 2014.
This year her goal is to win the Manitoba Provincial championship, and head to the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Montreal. In order to do this she has joined forces with Lisa, Sara and Sarah (pictured above). The team spent the summer working out with former Olympic champion Mark Nichols and are in great condition to start the season.
Bargainmoose is sponsoring the girls, and you can see our lovely little logo displayed on their arms in the image above.
Good luck Team Montford!
