Christmas is creeping ever closer…. I write this Sears contest every day and realise that December is slowly starting to creep away, and I haven’t even done my own Christmas shopping yet! I’ve been too busy on Bargainmoose to give myself a minute to buy anything, so I’ve made a vow to get it started this week.     we also have new PJS on Christmas eve, but also make it to a Christmas eve church service. Those are important traditions.

    Our family tradition is going to the tree farm, picking out our tree, cutting it down, then decorate it while we watch all the Classic Christmas movies, it’s a 2 day affair!

    Every year in November we have our family pictures taken at Walmart Studio. We also see Santa each year.

    The kids always sprinkle sparkly food in front of our house for Santa’s reindeer on Christmas Eve and we set out a platter of carrots and apples inside for them as well.

    My mom always put the stocking on our beds so when woke up would be preoccupied for a while. She still does that even though I’m 27….lol

    Our tradition is to go to Once Upon a Christmas at Heritage Park, that’s where we see Santa, take a horse drawn carriage ride, and the kids purchase our gifts at the Kids Only Store.

    Our tradition is to go to VanDusen Garden to see the dancing lights. Plus Stockings and new PJ’s under the tree.

    We drive down the street of lights with hot cocoa in a thermos, come home and watch the Grinch and hang our stockings :)

    Our family tradition growing up, and what we will continue with our son, was that every child could open one present of their choice on Christmas Eve, but as soon as they did, they had to go to sleep. Total anguish, as the kiddies all wanted to stay up late, but were desperate to open a present! :-)

    I’ve always loved the idea of Christmas jammies, but it’s not one my parents bought into, so I’ve started buying Christmas jammies for my nephews to open on Christmas Eve.

    Growing up, my grandparents always let us open our x-mas jammies and a stocking with a new colouring book and crayons. We had to colour on Christmas morning before the adults got up. Kept us busy. My parents continued this tradition and I plan on doing the same when I have grand children.

    Our family all play Bingo after dessert on Christmas Day for cheapie little prizes very year since we were little, until everyone gets a prize. It takes a while when you have about 25 people playing, but lots of laughs and giggles too.

    Every year we spend Christmas Eve at our neighbours. After Church we go to their home, which is a Cabin in the woods, surrounded by Cedar trees, and much on appetizers while we visit with neighbours and their children (some of which we only see once a year, at Christmas Eve). It’s nice to enjoy Christmas this way.

    We have appetizers for dinner and anyone is invited to come and enjoy with us. During that time we watch Miracle on 34th Street, It’s a Wonderful Life, and The Santa Clause. No presents are exchanged as this is for family and friends to enjoy each others company.

    We just get up in the morning, with camera in hand, and follow the kids down the stairs to see what Santa brought for them
