Royal Bank Canada Freebie: Free $50 Gift Card (Non-RBC Customers Only)

Royal Bank Canada Freebie: Free $50 Gift Card (Non RBC Customers Only)

Which bank are you with? If you’re not with RBC, then you could score yourself a free $50 Visa gift card! Keep reading to find out more.

There is no purchase required to redeem this freebie. All you need to do is book an appointment to go chat with an RBC financial adviser about your banking needs and at the end of the meeting, the $50 Visa gift card will be yours.

Once the time comes to go to the appointment, make sure to bring a copy of your last banking account statement as the financial adviser that you meet with will review it with you in an effort to demonstrate how much better banking with RBC would be for you. In order to qualify for the promotion, you must have an active personal account (a chequing one) with any bank other than RBC.

Personally, I have been with RBC for over a decade now and I love everything from the customer service to the ease of online banking, etc. In case you’re curious, RBC’s app is also well-made and is easy to use. Both the site and the app are very straightforward and whatever you need to do gets accomplished quickly.

To give you an idea, chequing accounts at RBC start from $4 per month for 10 debit transaction with the RBC No Limit account all the way up to $30 per month for unlimited transactions and free overdraft protection with the RBC VIP Banking account. In between these two, you can also get either the No Limit Banking account for $10.95 per month with unlimited transactions and $4/ month overdraft protection or RBC Signature No Limit banking for $14.95 per month with both unlimited transactions and overdraft protection. All of these accounts also waive certain other fees, so make sure to check out RBC’s Banking Accounts page for an overview of all of these.

Even if you’re perfectly happy with your current bank, it’s definitely worth checking out what other banks have to offer every once in a while because you never know when you can get something better. This freebie is definitely a major incentive as well!

Moosers, which bank are you with? What are your thoughts on the bank you’re with?

6 Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas

Posted by on December 18, 2014 at 8:00 PM

6 Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas

Unsure as to what to get someone on your Christmas list? Then impress your loved one(s) by making one of the following last minute Christmas gift idea. Best part of all is that these are all very frugal ideas and are guaranteed to cost less than if you were to buy them already made. Plus, it’s just that much more special if you make your gift yourself.

1. Candy Cane Hand Scrub

6 Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas

Here’s an idea from Cutepolish that I actually plan on doing myself. It’s super quick, easy and looks like it could be very effective. Simply combine sugar, coconut oil and peppermint essential oil in a mason jar or container, mix and that’s it, you have a candy cane hand scrub. I plan on making mine in mason jar mugs, so that my friends can then re-use it for a drink.

2. Irish Cream Liquor

6 Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas

Are you spending Christmas at someone else’s house? Then you can’t show up empty-handed! Make your own Irish cream liquor instead with the help of A Farm Girl In The Making‘s recipe. We all know how pricey good quality liquors can be, so the best way to save money is to mix your own drinks. For this recipe, you’re going to need Irish whisky, heavy cream, fat free sweetened condensed milk, Hershey’s chocolate syrup, vanilla extract and cold coffee.

3. Hot Cocoa Mix Ornaments

6 Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas

I love love love this idea! Although you could just walk into a store and buy a pre-packaged gift basket with different hot chocolate packets, it’s so much better if you make your own. To make it even more unique, follow Bubbly Nature Creations‘ instructions to place the hot chocolate mix into clear plastic fillable ornaments. If you really want to make your gift standout, then you could also paint the ornaments. For any of you with babies or kids, this is a great opportunity to make hand-print ornaments as well! 6 Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas

4. Mason Jar Candle

6 Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas

Have you ever received or given candles as a gift? Then can easily be tacky but not if you make your own! Something Turquoise has a very easy-to-follow guide on how to make your own mason jar candles that anyone is sure to appreciate receiving as a gift, especially if you also personalize the jar.

5. Beeswax Lip Balm

6 Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas

Know someone who loves Burt’s Bees or better yet, love natural products altogether? Then make them lip balm from beeswax that is very similar to the Burt’s Bees one. Broke & Healthy has a very clear guide on how to make your own with loads of explanations and helpful pictures.

6. Bath Bombs

6 Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas

If you’re really stumped as to what to get someone for Christmas, it can be extremely tempting to walk into one of those heavily scented stores at the mall like Lush or The Body Shop Canada to get a skincare gift set but considering these gifts are more often misses than hits, make your own to avoid any mishaps. As you can see by Maria’s Self recipe, bath bombs are actually super easy and quick to make. Just make sure that the giftee enjoys taking bats first. 6 Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas

Costco Canada: Conair Curl Secret + Travel Hair Dryer & Straightener – Just $100 (+ Free Shipping)

Posted by on December 17, 2014 at 8:30 PM

Costco Canada: Conair Curl Secret + Travel Hair Dryer & Straightener Just $100 (+ Free Shipping)

Save time curling your hair with the Conair Curl Secret. It’s currently $99.99 at Costco and comes with the following two bonus items: a travel dryer and a travel straightener. As usual, shipping at Costco is also absolutely free of charge.

The Conair Curl Secret features a tourmaline ceramic coated barrel with 2 PTC switches and 2 slide switches. It also has two heat settings and 3 timers. The timers are for how curly you want your hair: the longer you keep a strand in, the curlier it will be. Plus, it only takes 30 seconds for it to heat up, which means that you can plug it in and start using it practically right away without having to wait too long.

As I already mentioned, it also comes with a compact folding handle dryer and a mini ceramic straightener. Both of these would be absolutely perfect for taking on a trip or perhaps even using it on occasion at home.

Hands down, this is one of the best Christmas presents you can get a woman or girl right now. It’s a major time saver and best of all is that hair comes out looking amazing in just a matter of seconds. Although I don’t own one yet, I had the pleasure of trying one recently and I was very surprised at how curly my hair turned out. My hair doesn’t usually curl at all and yet within ten seconds, the strand I had inserted came out in a perfect curl. Certainly not a messy curl as in the picture above but if you wanted to, you could achieve that effect as well by teasing your hair after curling it.

Here’s what one reviewer had to say about it:

I love the Conair Curl Secret. I have medium length naturally wavy hair. It takes me about 15 minutes to curl my hair as I just curl the bottoms. The second day, I just need to touch up a few curls and by the third day, I have a beautiful full pony tail. You do not need to use ANY hair product at all (although I use just a tiny bit of curl serum). Loved it so much, many of my friends have bought it too and been super happy.

Everywhere else, the Conair Curl Secret is roughly $90 and doesn’t come with the 2 freebies that Costco’s bundle comes with. In fact, it’s such a hot Christmas gift that it’s already completely sold out at both Best Buy and Future Shop, but considering that you get the 2 freebies for a total of $99, Costco’s deal is definitely a much better one anyways.

Thyme Maternity Canada: $20 Relaxed Maternity Jeans + EXTRA 30% Off – Now $14 (Free Shipping EXPIRED)

Posted by on December 17, 2014 at 10:30 AM

Thyme Maternity Canada: $20 Relaxed Maternity Jeans + EXTRA 30% Off Now $14 (Free Shipping EXPIRED)

Pregnancy during the holidays isn’t easy… in between the big belly and all of the holiday dinners, if you’re pregnant, you’re going to need some comfy pants. Luckily, the relaxed maternity jeans are on sale for just $19.99 (reg. $69). Since all sale items get reduced by an additional 30% off at checkout, these jeans can be yours for an even lower price tag of just $13.99! Even better is that today only, shipping is free on absolutely all orders with no required minimum!

When I was pregnant over the holidays last year, I tried to turn my regular pants into maternity ones by looping an elastic through the buttonhole in an effort to make more room for my ever-expanding belly. Admittedly, it worked for a bit but soon enough, I found myself undoing the whole contraption altogether, especially after a big meal with friends. But since doing so discreetly becomes harder the further you get along in your pregnancy, maternity jeans are a must-have item!

The Thyme Maternity maternity jeans have a relaxed feel to them and you won’t have to worry about any pesky buttons as it features a 3-in-1 panel, which can be worn either under, mid or over the belly. Pregnancy jeans can be quite costly so $14 is actually a really amazing deal. Thyme Maternity Canada: $20 Relaxed Maternity Jeans + EXTRA 30% Off Now $14 (Free Shipping EXPIRED)

As I already mentioned, shipping is free on any order today only. Thyme Maternity usually only ships over $100 for free, so this is definitely a fabulous opportunity to snag a couple of pieces without having to go overboard. Although it’s only available in a medium size, I also spotted the “La Vie Est Belle” maternity t-shirt. It’s on sale for $9.99 (reg. $39), which means that it comes down to an even lower price of just $6.99 at checkout. It’s made from a stretchy material, which means that it won’t be too tight on the belly.

Speaking of which, even if you’re not pregnant but know someone who is, then you could also grab something for the mommy-to-be to give for Christmas. That’s what a friend of mine did for me last year and I can’t tell you how grateful I was. I ended up wearing each piece that she got me, especially after all of my regular clothes stopped fitting!

82% Off Medium Rise Skinny Jeans + EXTRA 20% Off @ Parasuco Jeans – Just $20 (+ Free Shipping!)

Posted by on December 16, 2014 at 7:15 PM

82% Off Medium Rise Skinny Jeans + EXTRA 20% Off @ Parasuco Jeans Just $20 (+ Free Shipping!)

Looking around Parasuco’s sale section, I spotted the medium rise skinny jeans on sale for just $24.99. At checkout, these jeans get reduced by an additional 20% off to just $19.98. They were originally priced at $135, which means that you’re looking at 85% in total savings! Plus, you can have them shipped for free right now!

Available in all sizes from 23 to 32 with a 34 inseam, you have the choice between the following three colours: yellow, blue or pink. As you can see in the picture above, all of these are in a pastel hue. Although this jean may not be the most season appropriate right now, I thought it was a great deal to mention, especially since shopping out of season is the best way to save some money! If you get these now in each colour, then you will be pretty set once summer comes. 82% Off Medium Rise Skinny Jeans + EXTRA 20% Off @ Parasuco Jeans Just $20 (+ Free Shipping!)

For the same price of $19.98, I also spotted the 8SoficB medium rise skinny jeans. Just like the other ones, they’re on sale for $24.98 but get reduced more at checkout. The only difference between these and the aforementioned ones is that they’re reversible. So you can either wear them as yellow jeans or turn them inside out to make them primarily white with a yellow outline. I debated between which jeans to feature but since these ones were originally priced at $120, I decided to go with the ones that yielded a higher discount. Both are very hot buys, however, and if you’re in need of jeans, then I definitely suggest snagging both as soon as possible.

As I already mentioned, these jeans currently qualify for a free shipping promotion. Usually, shipping is only free on orders over $150 at Parasuco but for a limited time, they’re offering free shipping on any order, no matter the minimum!

In fact, if you want to get a cheap tank, then check out the 8Eturna. Since it’s on sale for $14.98 (reg. $65), it will come down to just $11.98 at checkout. While it may feature an elegant style in the front, it has more of a “business up front, party in the back” kind of feel. If you click over to the back of the shirt, you will see what I mean. It reminded me of Sons of Anarchy, but that may be because I just finished watching the finale the other day.

56% Off 2-Pack Oral-B Pro-Health Toothbrush @ Best Buy & Future Shop Canada – Now $13

Posted by on December 15, 2014 at 10:10 PM

56% Off 2 Pack Oral B Pro Health Toothbrush @ Best Buy & Future Shop Canada Now $13

Here’s a great deal on a pair of toothbrushes: you can get a 2-pack of Oral-B Pro-Health precision clean toothbrushes on sale for just $12.99. They were originally priced at $30, which puts them at a $17 discount.

This toothbrush is battery-operated and even has 3 modes to choose from: daily clean, sensitive or whitening. Surprisingly, it also has a timer to make sure that you brush your teeth for long enough. I know I’m guilty of not always brushing for the for two minutes, so this is definitely a major perk for lazy ones like me.

In terms of reviews, there is only one on Best Buy’s site and it’s a 3/5 star one, knocking it down for not being as pictured. According to the reviewer, “it’s just a small round brush“. Somewhat an odd statement because that is exactly what is shown in the picture: a small round tooth brush head! In fact, it’s designed to be that way in order to remove twice as much plaque as a regular tooth brush. Speaking of which, it’s definitely worth upgrading to a battery-operated one if you haven’t already. My hubby and I made the switch a couple of years ago and it feels beyond inefficient to sometimes have to resort to a regular one.

On Future Shop’s site, there are 2 reviews with a total of 4/5 stars. Here’s what one reviewer had to say about it:

Very happy with this purchase! Makes your teeth feel dentist office clean! Worth the money!!

Price comparing, I found this exact toothbrush being sold at Amazon for $45.46 and that’s just for one of these bad boys too! Okay, so it’s sold by the Duty Free Shop, through Amazon’s marketplace but it was still a shocking price to see, especially in comparison with Best Buy’s and Future Shop’s current price. At London Drugs, one of these toothbrushes is priced at $16.99.

Since both Best Buy and Future Shop only ship orders over $25 for free, you would need to add a couple more items to your cart in order to have your order qualify for free shipping. At both sites, you can currently take advantage of a “buy more, save more” promotion, during which you can save the following on personal care items depending on how much you buy: 10% off 3 items, 15% off 5 items or 20% of 8 or more products.

Sears Canada Freebie: Free Portrait Package ($160 Value)

Posted by on December 15, 2014 at 2:10 PM

Sears Canada Freebie: Free Portrait Package ($160 Value)

Want to take kooky family portrait? Then here’s a fabulous opportunity to get professional pictures for free! Head over to Sears Portrait to print a coupon for a free portrait package. It’s valued at $159!

This freebie comes with all of the following products:

  • 1 (one) 11×14 wall portrait
  • 1 (one) 8×10
  • 2 (two) 5×7
  • 4 (four) 3½x5
  • 10 (ten) 4×8 photo greeting cards
  • 15 photo gift tags

The only drawback to note about this freebie is that all of the products must be in the same pose. You can have as many subjects (family members) as you want present and can take as many pictures as you want, but once you’re done, you need to pick just one to print in all of the aforementioned sizes. In fact, you may also pick between numerous backgrounds and enhancements, instead of just a plain white one.

It would certainly have been great to be able to choose multiple poses but considering this is a $160 valued freebie, I’m certainly not complaining. In fact, I’m actually excited to redeem this freebie myself as it’s my baby’s first Christmas. We already took a couple of pictures, but it would be great to get the grandparents involved as well.

Also keep in mind that although this freebie is only on for a limited time, once you print your coupon, you have until January 31st 2015 to book your session.

The package comes with 15 photo gift tags, which you can use to affix onto Christmas presents but you would need to book the session pronto as there isn’t much time left until Christmas and the pictures would take a couple of days to be ready. Worst case scenario, you could just save those gift tags for next year or use them for other holidays and anniversaries in the coming year.

Once you click over to the Sears Portrait page to print the coupon for the free portrait session, you will also be given the option to send it to a friend. If you do this, then you will also get a free 16×20 wall portrait included with your portrait session. It’s valued at $84.98. Plus, you don’t even really need to send it to friends as you can use any of your own e-mail address to fill in the 3 required fields. Sears Canada Freebie: Free Portrait Package ($160 Value)

Costco Canada: Oster 1.5L Jug Style Kettle – Now Just $35 (Was $48)

Posted by on December 14, 2014 at 9:00 PM

Costco Canada: Oster 1.5L Jug Style Kettle Now Just $35 (Was $48)

Costco has the Oster 1.5L jug style kettle on sale for just $34.99 right now. It was originally priced at $47.99.

With a 1.5L capacity, this Oster kettle is made with brushed chrome and white accents. It also as a 360° rotational base, which means that you won’t have to worry about placing it just right. There is also an external water level gauge in the same spot as the handle. This may seem like an obvious aspect to have but in all actuality, not all kettle have an external water level gauge but it’s definitely very handy to have.

A $13 price reduction may not seem like much but I thought I would blog this kettle anyways for a couple of reasons. First of all, a jug-style kettle is original in of itself, especially if you’re looking to give a tea-lover a kettle as a Christmas present. Secondly, it’s also the cheapest price all around as Sears has it priced at $59.99, while everywhere else, like Walmart and Best Buy, it’s priced at $49.98. There are no reviews for it on Costco’s site, but here’s one I found at Sears:

Have had my Oster kettle for about 5 years — fabulous! Only one on the market that keeps the water hot all day (and night, too!) — just a couple of minutes, and it’s back to boiling! Easy to clean, even in this hard water area — a splash of vinegar once every couple of weeks, and it’s good to go!

The fact that the water stay hot for a while is definitely a major plus. I’ve had the same old cheap kettle for a couple of years now and always need to re-heat the water even after 10 minutes of it coming to a boil. So if you’re an avid tea, instant coffee or whatever other beverage drinker, then this is a major advantage.

According to one reviewer that wasn’t particularly satisfied with this kettle, the corn is on the shorter side. So definitely keep this mind but it shouldn’t be too much of a problem in most kitchens.

Costco also offers absolutely free shipping.

Best Buy Canada: $40 Off Logitech MX Performance Mouse – Now $50 (EXPIRED)

Posted by on December 14, 2014 at 7:40 PM

Best Buy Canada: $40 Off Logitech MX Performance Mouse Now $50 (EXPIRED)

Need a new mouse or are looking to give someone one for Christmas? Then definitely check out this awesome deal at Best Buy. You can currently get the Logitech Performance MX 910-001122 wireless mouse for just $49.99 instead of its regular price of $89.99 ($40 discount).

Designed for right-handed moosers, the Logitech performance MX mouse is a laser that is wireless. It’s black and also has two buttons on the side, along with a zoom button and a scroll wheel that is described as “hyper-fast”.

This mouse has a whopping amount of 22 reviews with a total of 4.4/5 stars. I know that over 20 reviews may not seem like much but for Best Buy’s site it is. There are usually less than 10 reviews per products if any at all. Here’s what one reviewer had to say about it:

I’ve been a PC gamer for the last 20 years, and I worked in the industry as a computer consultant for 10 years. I’m currently a research scientist. This mouse has the best performance of any brand I’ve ever used. I’ve used to draw professional geological maps, to play games such as World of Warcraft, Civilizations, World of Tanks, AOE, Diablo, and a bunch of other high performance games that really require an excellent mouse that does not drift or move sporadically. This mouse has always been responsive and has always been on target.

That’s actually a small snippet of the full review but you can read more about it on Best Buy’s site.

Only two reviewers have given this mouse less than 2 stars but considering that amount of positive reviews, it’s still well worth the purchase!

Best Buy’s price is also the best one all around as everywhere else, this mouse is much pricier:

In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if this mouse either gets sold out before the deal is set to expire as there are only limited quantities available. Plus, Amazon was offering this mouse for the same price just a little earlier today and they have since increased the price back up, probably because enough of these were sold.

Since Best Buy ships all orders over $25 for free, you’re sure to get this mouse shipped for free as well.

Tim Hortons Canada: Bonus $5 With Purchase Of $25+ Gift Card (EXPIRED)

Every time a Tim Hortons deal, or especially freebie, is blogged here on Bargainmoose, it sells out within hours, sometimes even minutes. So don’t wait to redeem this latest one if you’re interested. The first 1,000 purchasers can right now get a bonus $5 added to their card with purchase of a $25 gift card.

Prices may have gone up recently and if you have been doing everything you can to avoid this addicting place, then this is definitely a great opportunity to save a bit of money. Well, it’s a great opportunity regardless! Tim Hortons Canada: Bonus $5 With Purchase Of $25+ Gift Card (EXPIRED)

Having to spend $25 right off the bat may be a bit of a bummer at first but if you find yourself going to Tim’s often or are least often enough, then this one’s definitely worth investing into. Either that or if you just don’t know what to get someone on your Christmas list, but know that they love coffee, then you could either give them this card or use it in-stores to buy a mug, a tumbler, ground coffee or maybe even K-Cups.

You have the option between 5 pre-determined gift card values or you can also choose to plug in whatever amount you want, but just make sure that it’s over $25 in order for the bonus to be applied.

What’s cool about getting your gift card online is that you can pick your own design. So if you’re actually looking to give this card as a gift, then you could select a picture of yourself with the person you’re giving it to or perhaps find a cute picture on the internet. There are plenty of pre-designed layouts to choose from as well, like the standard coffee cup, Christmas ones, one with a heart or even a “happy birthday one”.

Another cool part about getting it online is that you don’t even have to wait for it to arrive in the mail as you are given the following 3 choices for delivery: e-mail, print or text. That last option is particularly handy because you can send the gift card to a friend or perhaps even to yourself through a text message. As usual, standard messaging or data rates may apply.

(Expiry: very soon)

Marcelle Canada Promo Code: 40% Off All Make-Up & Skincare

Marcelle Canada Promo Code: 40% Off All Make Up & Skincare

Ready, set, save 40% off at Marcelle! But only when you the coupon code below and only during the next couple of days.

Click here to shop @ Marcelle.com now

  • Coupon Code: SANTA
  • Discount: 40% off
  • Expiry: 14th December 2014

I have been using the 3-in-1 micellar solution ever since I scored it at a discount a couple of months ago but while it gets the job done, I’m definitely tempted to give the gentle make-up remover for sensitive eyes a try instead. It’s new and already has 2 positive reviews, namely this one:

Same formula as Lancome’s bi-facil but for a fraction of their price! does wonders in removing the toughest of waterproof eye makeup without having to pull or tug at the delicate eye area. this is my HOLY GRAIL eye makeup remover!!!

Very inspiring indeed, especially when we consider the fact that the Lancome Bi-Facil product in question retails for as much as $36. Marcelle’s gentle make-up remover, however, would come down to just $8.97 (reg. $14.95) with the Marcelle coupon code. Even better is that it’s 100% hypo-allergenic, is perfume free and has no paraben, gluten, alcohol or soap. It would also give you 70 points, which brings me to my next point…

Marcelle now offers points for every purchase. When I ordered a couple of months ago, this feature definitely wasn’t live yet but it’s one I’m certainly excited by as I love Marcelle products. Marcelle’s points system works in any standard way, in that you get points for every purchase that you make and you can then redeem these points to save on future orders. What’s interesting is that points may also be earned by performing certain actions on Marcelle’s site like writing reviews, subscribing to their newsletter, sending invitations, having people you invited make purchases etc.

Shipping is free on orders over $50 and it’s quite fast as well. When I ordered a couple of months ago, my package arrived within two days but given that it’s the holiday season right now, don’t be surprised if it takes slightly longer.

If you want to try another product, then it also looks like the ideal skin perferctor has recently been added to Marcelle’s line-up of products. Originally priced at $24.95, it comes down to just $14.97 and basically needs to be applied first thing before any other make-up or skin care routine. It also has 4/5 stars with 7 reviews!

6 Easy DIY Ornament Ideas

6 Easy DIY Ornament Ideas

It’s not the most frugal method but if you have ever bought ornaments before Christmas, then you will know that the best ones can be pretty pricey. Save yourself some money and create your very own ornaments with these six DIY ideas! They’re super easy and I guarantee that you will want to make extra to give out to friends and family.

1. Thumbprint Ornament

6 Easy DIY Ornament Ideas

I’m not much of a painter but I’m confident that even I could make these red nose reindeer ones from Little Bit Funky. All you need are a couple of white or blue ornaments, paint and a fine paint brush. Simply dip your fingers into brown paint, then use a paint brush to draw on the antlers, eyes and a red nose. Arguably, this one could also be called a moose fingerprint ornament, but if you do, make sure to snap a picture and send it to us! 6 Easy DIY Ornament Ideas

2. Fingerprint Christmas Light Ornament

6 Easy DIY Ornament Ideas

Thumbprint ornmants seem so easy, that I decided to include this Christmas lights one from The Happier Homemaker. Same concept as the reindeer one but you need to instead use differently coloured paint to dab on lights. Once you’re down, string them all together with some black paint! Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

3. Filled and Painted Ornaments

6 Easy DIY Ornament Ideas

Little Gray Fox has come up with a brilliant idea for creating beautiful ornaments and even better is that this is perhaps the easiest idea of the bunch! All you need to do is pour a bit of paint into a clear glass ornaments, swirl it around and voila, you’re done! Sure, you can buy coloured ornaments but where’s the fun in that? Plus, searching for a particular colour can be a hassles, so it’s much easier to just select the exact colour that you want! You can also go a step further by pouring sprinkles into the ornament or whatever other ideas you may have. Once you’re down, simply seal off the top with hot glue.

4. Handprint Ornament

6 Easy DIY Ornament Ideas

Here’s a wonderful oranment idea from You’re So Martha that I will be utilizing myself. Create your very own hand print or footprint moulded ornaments and the best part is that you probably already have all of the needed ingredients, which are flour, salt and water. You read that right: just three ingredients! These could also be painted however you see fit.

5. Newspaper Strip Ornament

6 Easy DIY Ornament Ideas

Got a couple of old books or newspapers lying around that you will never read again? Then here’s another idea to go with the 7 Ways to Upcycle Books that I wrote about recently. Just in time for Christmas, you can use strips of newspaper or pages from a book to make a unique looking ornament. Instructions are available at Craft and Creativity but once you hop over to their site, keep in mind that English instructions are available underneath the Swedish ones.

6. Beaded Candy Cane

6 Easy DIY Ornament Ideas

Not a fan of painting? No worries, grab yourself a couple of chenille pipe cleaners along with red and white pony beads and make yourself some beaded candy canes a la Fountain Avenue Kitchen‘s brilliant idea. Plus, you can either use these as ornaments or you could even place them strategically around the house if you’re in the mass production mood.
