Taco Bell Canada: Free Fries Supreme (With Drink Purchase)

Posted by Anna on January 26, 2012 at 2:30 PM

Taco Bell Canada: Free Fries Supreme (With Drink Purchase)

Bargainmooser Kim has emailed me a super sweet deal about Taco Bell Canada. If you click “like” on their Facebook page, you get a coupon for free fries supreme, with the purchase of a soft drink!

You’ve got to purchase a 20oz Pepsico drink in order to redeem the coupon. They don’t state that it is one coupon per person, so as long as you’re buying a drink, you’ll get the free fries.

Kim went on to tell me:

Oh yeah, so yesterday, my daughter and I tried the coupon and it works, so you could print out like a dozen and use it during that time.  Except I wasn’t happy that the drink cost $2.25 but at least the fries supreme was free (sort of), it was really delicious!

I haven’t tried the fries supreme, as I’m not the biggest fan of Taco Bell anyway, but I decided to check out the description on the Taco Bell website:

Freshly prepared french fries covered with seasoned ground beef, warm zesty nacho cheese sauce, diced ripe tomatoes, chives and cool sour cream.

That sounds pretty mouth watering, to be honest. And it definitely sounds like a main meal, rather than a side order of fries!

P.S. There have been a ton of great freebies through Facebook lately. I know a lot of people don’t use Facebook at all, but it’s worth signing up for an account just to get these freebies. You don’t have to use your Facebook account or anything, and just set everything to totally private.

Mallybibs Coupon Code Exclusive: Free Shipping!

Posted by Anna on January 26, 2012 at 10:30 AM

Mallybibs Coupon Code Exclusive: Free Shipping!

The lovely peeps over at BC based boutique Mallybibs.com, have sent us a handy exclusive coupon code. It will get you free shipping on any order from their store. That’s a saving of $6.95, a very nice discount, because Bargainmoosers love free shipping!

Click here to use the Mallybibs coupon code online

    • Coupon Code: BARGAINMOOSE
    • Discount: Free shipping
    • Expires: 31st January 2012

Mallybibs are the creators of the original leather bibs, which are a really fabulous idea. They’re all hand made in Canada, so you are paying a bit more than you’d pay for bibs at Walmart, for example! But Mallybibs sell more than bibs, they do passport holders, bookmarks, change purses, card holders, and more.

If you know someone who has recently had a new baby, I think the bibs would make a super gift, especially if you got it personalised with the baby name.

Bargainmoose author Jodie has one of the Mallybibs bibs, and here’s a quote from her in the past:

The bib was easy to clean (wipe or rinse) and has a magnetic closure which was easy to put on my daughter and it even stuck to the side of the highchair or fridge when we weren’t using it. What a great gift!

Check out the gift sets too, they’re very cute. I like the maple leaf gift set for $34.95. It comes with a matching leather squeeze change purse, and passport holder.

Best Buy Canada 5 Free Movie Rentals (West only?)

Posted by Anna on January 25, 2012 at 12:30 PM

Best Buy Canada 5 Free Movie Rentals (West only?)

My friend just forwarded me a great email from Best Buy Canada, with a promo code for 5 free movie rentals from the Best Buy movie kiosks!

Click here to check for Best Buy kiosks near you

    • Promo code: RZFREE
    • Discount: 5 free movie rentals
    • Expires: 15th February 2012

You can get either DVD or blu-ray movie rentals with this free coupon. I believe the Best Buy movie kiosks are mainly in Western Canada, so this deal will only apply to the Moosers there.

I don’t really like copy and pasting a load of information, but it seems to be the best way to show you all the details about this deal:

How to get your 5 free movie rentals:

Simply visit a Best Buy Movie Kiosk conveniently located at select Mac’s and Canadian 7-Eleven stores, enter your exclusive Reward Zone member-only code in the machine, follow the simple steps, and you’re done.

    Coupon Instructions

    1. Select your movie, click “next” then “rent”
    2. Select “Coupon”
    3. Enter the promo code (RZFREE), click “ok” and then “ok” again on the next screen.
    4. Scan Credit Card

There you have it! You don’t need a Best Buy rewards card, just the above details and your credit card. They only need the credit card in case you bring back the movies late, or run off with the movies!

Hot Deals Forum Roundup: Hollister, Hush Puppies, Hong Kong & More

Posted by Anna on January 23, 2012 at 6:00 PM

Over on our hot deals forums, there have been quite a lot of deals posted over the last day or so. I’m not going to blog about each and every one of them on here, but I can mention some of the hot offers in a roundup post, for your interest:

Secret Hollister Sale, items from $7 (expired) – on this page on Hollister Canada, there are some items for sale, starting at only $7 – they call it “tees and tanks for $10 and under”. There aren’t loads to choose from, but the discounts are pretty high. Plus, if you sign up to the email newsletter there, you can get free shipping, but haven’t confirmed this yet. Click on “dudes” or “bettys” for either male or female. (Thanks Alanna)

Select Watches up to 80% off @ Amazon – Over on Amazon.cam they have a sale on select watches for Valentine’s day, you can get up to 80% off. There are some nice looking watches on there, plus you get free super saver shipping on a $25 spend. Just watch out though, because some of the watches might be from 3rd party marketplace sellers, so there may be extra shipping for those. (Thanks mamartim)

40% off & free shipping @ Hush Puppies – On Hushpuppies, you can get a 40% discount with coupon code HP-012312 (now expired) and there would be free shipping too. For example, I tested the coupon code out on a pair of shoes which were originally $85, the sale price was $51, and the coupon code brought them down to $30! (Thanks ksanders)

15% off Hong Kong flights with Air Canada – I realise this one won’t apply to many Moosers, but just in case you’re wanting to travel to Hong Kong, you can currently get 15% off Air Canada flights from Toronto or Vancouver with the coupon code JANHKG15. Happy travels! (Thanks Jonno)

    Burger King: Free Fries Friday

Posted by Anna on January 23, 2012 at 12:00 PM

    Burger King: Free Fries Friday

On Friday the 27th of January 2012, Burger King Canada is hosting Free Fries Friday! On that day, they’re offering TOTALLY free fries, with no purchase necessary!

There’s an advert for Free Fries Friday on the Burger King home page, but it doesn’t tell us much when we click on it, other than what you can see in the image above. There are some terms:

One free small size french fry per person. While supplies last.  At participating restaurants, excluding highway and movie theatre locations.

Apparently, Burger King are changing over to new thicker cut fries, so this sounds like a marketing promotion to get people in to the restaurants to try them out. If I’m passing a Burger King outlet, I’ll definitely be calling in for my free fries. I hope they’re not mega busy though, but I think that they probably will be pretty hectic.

I’ve always liked Burger King’s fries, I’ve always preferred them over McDs. Which is your favourite?

    Top 5 Baby Sites

Posted by Anna on January 19, 2012 at 12:00 PM

If you have young children of your own, I’m sure you can sympathize when I say that shopping with a baby (or toddler) can be so difficult sometimes. I only have about 30 minutes before my 2 year old starts freaking out – I can’t imagine how hard things will be when baby #2 comes along.

Since shopping with children has been quite challenging for me, I try to do as much online shopping as possible. Of course, groceries is not really something I want to purchase online, but everything else is fair game – clothing, toys, etc.

Below is a list of stores that I find are the best in terms of children’s items.

    Top 5 Baby Sites

    Old Navy Canada

I’ve found that the prices of children’s clothing at Old Navy are very reasonable, and the quality is quite nice as well (for most things). There are times when I come across a pair of jeans or a sweater for $50 (seriously – who spends that much on children’s clothing?!), but for the most part, they seem to have great prices.

On top of their low-cost items, Old Navy Canada offers many sales and coupons on a regular basis. Sometimes you can combine a great price with a sale AND an Old Navy coupon. Mega savings right there! [Old Navy deals on Bargainmoose]

    Top 5 Baby Sites

    Please Mum Canada

You will often find fantastic clothing deals at Please Mum Canada (especially online). Their prices are a bit high to begin with, so don’t expect to find t-shirts for $2, pants for $3 or winter coats for an amazing $5. However, the quality of clothing at Please Mum more than makes up for the extra cash you will have to shell out.

I’ve seen discounts for as much as 80% off at Please Mum Canada. They really do have some of the best sales on children’s clothing! [Please Mum deals on Bargainmoose]

    Top 5 Baby Sites

    Children’s Place Canada

Like Please Mum, the Children’s Place has quite a few sales every year. You can almost always find some type of 50% off (or more) sale in store and online (usually for clothing that it is going out of season).

Their online shopping site is fairly new and it has shown some great sales as well. If you sign up to their mailing list, they will regularly send you discount coupons that you can use both online and in stores.

Another great thing about the Children’s Place Canada is that it has flat rate shipping of $8. [Children's Place deals on Bargainmoose]

    Top 5 Baby Sites

    Chapters/Indigo Canada

I know it seems odd that you would be able to find great kids items at a book store like Chapters, but they do sell more than books… much more! Kids toys, plush items, infant care and even nursery decor.

If you look under the SALE section of the website, you will see a list of categories from which you can look through all of the sale items. Toys are often included here. Board games, puzzles, wooden toys and even Crayola products!

Chapters is really good about offering discounts for online (and in store) purchases, such as this Chapters coupon which gives a $5 discount. Signing up to their mailing list is a good idea if you want to make sure you are the first to know about their latest sales and coupon offers. [Chapters deals on Bargainmoose]

    Top 5 Baby Sites

    Babies R Us Canada

You can easily order baby essentials online through the Babies R Us website. Strollers, car seats, potty seats, clothing – you can even buy maternity clothing through Thyme Maternity!

Pay close attention to their online clearance section, as this is updated on a regular basis with all kind of great deals. I was recently able to purchase a baby bath tub and diaper bag for only $32 (including shipping & tax)!

Although coupon codes for Babies R Us aren’t offered as often as they are for other stores, they are distributed occasionally (usually through email, but sometimes they give them out in store as well). [Babies R Us deals on Bargainmoose]

    Conclusion

Having children can be expensive when you add up the cost of all of the gear they need, diapers, formula, and who can forget all of the clothing that they seem to outgrow overnight!

In order to avoid over-spending on baby items, be sure to do your research and shop only at stores that offer great deals and promotions for their customers.

You will find the best deals (especially on clothing) right at the end of a season, so try to do your shopping then, if possible. Many stores still offer great savings throughout the entire year, though – just do a bit of research before you go shopping.

This was a guest post from Cassie Howard, who is a work at home mom living in Mississauga, Ontario. She writes daily on her personal finance blog, MrsJanuary.com – a website dedicated to frugal living. She’s what many would call an extreme couponer and saves a minimum of 50% off her grocery bill every week by using coupons. [Anna]

Bookcloseouts & Groupon: $30 Worth Books For $15!

Posted by Anna on January 17, 2012 at 10:15 AM

Bookcloseouts & Groupon: $30 Worth Books For $15!

Bargainmooser Lara has just emailed me with a really super deal from 2 popular companies here on Bargainmoose – it’s a Groupon deal for Bookcloseouts.ca. You can get $30 worth of books for only $15!

As I write this, you’ve got just over 1 day and 13 hours to buy the Groupon voucher. You pay $15 for the voucher, and you’ll get $30 to spend online at Bookcloseouts.ca.

Bookcloseouts is a really great Canadian bookstore. They have thousands of discounted titles! In the past, Bargainmoosers have written about getting huge boxes of books at amazing prices.

    And Bargainmooser Alda says:

Wow! I ordered 9 new books for my son and doubled each so we could give as add ons to birthday gifts and all for under $25 including shipping. It arrived in no time and not a scratch or dent on them. My son was please, I was pleased and my wallet was even happier! Luv this site!

Bargainmooser TJ got a similar deal:

I just got 15 items… one a boxed set of 4 books, for $60 all in!

They won’t have the latest new releases, but if you are prepared to dig through their catalogue, you can usually find some great bargains on Bookcloseouts.ca.

    Bargainmooser Robin says:

If you ever get the chance-go to the warehouse store in St. Catharines-you could spend days in there finding great bargain books!

Yay! Bargainmoose Deals App got to the Top 10 in Finance @ iTunes!

Posted by Anna on January 15, 2012 at 11:30 AM

Yay! Bargainmoose Deals App got to the Top 10 in Finance @ iTunes!

Thanks to everyone who has downloaded the Bargainmoose deals apps, and told their friends about it too – because we’ve just made it in to the top 10 in Finance downloads on the Apple app store (iTunes)! If you want to get in on the app action:

Please note that it seems to be slipping between 10th and 11th place as I write this, but we did get there! I’m hoping we can keep it up there for a while, to try and let more and more people know that it’s a really handy app to keep you up-to-date with great Canadian bargains. But it’s amazing to see Bargainmoose up there with the likes of the big banks and huge brands.

And thanks to everyone who left us really positive reviews on the app store – much appreciated! We’ve also been getting a lot of support on Twitter with many people helping us out by tweeting to their followers. If you tweet, that would help us a lot!

Remember that we’re giving away 4 iPod shuffles in a contest here, so get in on that if you’re interested.

P.S. Thanks for the shoutout from the Techvibes guys!

USB Rechargeable Sunglasses MP3 Player with Bluetooth $12.34 @ PriceAngels

Posted by Anna on January 14, 2012 at 2:30 PM

USB Rechargeable Sunglasses MP3 Player with Bluetooth $12.34 @ PriceAngels

Great price on these USB Rechargeable Sunglasses MP3 Player with Bluetooth from Priceangels.com – you get them for $12.34CA with free shipping!

These sunglasses actually have a built-in 2GB mp3 player. I think they’d be great for jogging or going to the gym.  I’m not sure how comfy they’d be though, I’ve not tried them out. I’ve always had problems with comfortable ear phones though, maybe it’s just me.

I haven’t posted about Priceangels on Bargainmoose before, but they’ve been on my deal radar for a long time. They’re similar to DealExtreme – they’re both Hong Kong based companies that offer free shipping to Canada on many of their gadgets. You can get great prices on things like this, both companies usually have great deals on little gadgets.

Just note that shipping to Canada can possibly be slow, it will take a while to get to you. I’d say shipping would probably take about a month, so factor that in if you’re ordering items for a present.
